I could really use some help. Back on 3-11-10. My friends truck a 2002 Dodge 2500 HO turbo diesel 2wd completely stock took a dump. Would start but under acceleration it would just dead pedal. pulled him home and the temp gauge was bouncing all over the place and the cruise light would blink on and off. He thought it was the IP and LP so he ordered the IP and a Fass DDRP LP. We installed it and it made no difference at all. I know we should have pulled the codes first but we didn't:banghead:. So we pulled the codesPCU p0122, p0500, p1693.ECU p0121, p0230, p1689, p0217, p1488, p0575, p0562, po237 I did some searching and found a post by mopar on 5-29-2009 that said Quote:P…

New to the forum, but been on the sidelines as a reader for some time now. I drive a 2001 24 valve NV5600 cab & chassis with HO 5.9. I have an issue that seems to show up as the temperature drops, but not always when cooler. The truck starts fine and takes off fine then all of a sudden power loss. No throttle response until speed drops to 35 mph (in sixth gear, different in other gears) then power kicks back in and we are going again for a bit until power loss repeats. Have also noticed when this is happening I have no operating temperature increase on the temp gauge. Can say the gauge is true due to no heat while the event is happening. …

  4. My brakes have been worse than normal lately and with new pads on the front, I knew it had to be the back. My driver side was all sludged with rear end oil so I guess there is a inner seal on the hub leaking.I got my axle out but there is some kind of little lock nut that I need to remove and ive never seen anything like it before. My jeeps never had anything like this full floater and I have never worked on one before so if you have any tips I would greatly appreciate it!

Hey gang can we help this new family member out with not only his truck but how to use the forum too. First thing I typically ask for is error codes (using a OBDII reader) and fuel pressure (idle to WOT at highway speeds).

  6. Ok, so long short I'm at a friend's right now so certain things are limited. What happened- hit a deer at 50 top of hill ran it over lost control hit a tree stump and broke the steering gear. Limped it back to camp caught a ride into town got parts returned and replaced gear. Bled system got it into town had it aligned, got cold hard steering at start up next day ran to store made it half way back when the truck started clunking from the power steering pump, pulled over and at idle the thing was shaking itself apart. Shut down towed back to friend's. Now we tear the thing apart and find the power steering pump failed and took out the vacuum pump the …

Mike. You offered to help me tune my truck. I've been gone for awhile over personal problems. I could really use some help now if you have time. Thanks, Greg. I'm on est.

  8. Hi all, I am new to this forum but have posted on the cummins forum. I got a 98 24 valve with the hard start problem and need some help. The parts store charged me 17 dollars for the 11 dollar relay. I didn't get a socket with it, is it ok to attach the wires directly to the relay or do I need a socket. Can I just trace the yellow white wire back from the lift pump and cut it and attach to the relay. I have looked at the schematic that moparman provided. I see that pin 86 goes to ground and 85 ties in with the brown starter wire, can I trace the wire from the starter up and tie in anywhere? The yellow white wire must be cut and connected to pin 30 and 87a. Sorry to ask so…

  9. I'm putting in an Airdog FRRP-100 and having a helluva time getting the 1/2 line to go onto the barb fittings. I oiled them per the instructions with some fresh engine oil and can only get them on so far. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I am fairly new to the diesel world and was looking for some help. I have a 1999 3500 dually 4x4, manual, 5" exhaust, bhaf, Edge Juice with Attitude CTS, Southbend Clutch, and a airdog. I tow a 10,000 pound fifth wheel with the truck, and it performs ok but It will never break 22 pounds of boost. It has all new turbo hoses and clamps and a boost elbow and has been boost leak checked. It runs right up to 22 pounds and stops. I have great fuel pressure, but it feels like the truck is stopping the boost from going any higher. I have also set all of the settings on the edge so that it would max out boost at 37 pounds. What am i missing? I had plans to upgrad…

I have a 1998.5 5.9 24 valve dodge 2500 diesel. Recently had the transfer pump replaced then right after it started having a bad/missing idle in park but only when truck is warmed up. I replaced O rings between transfer pump and oil filter housing, changed fuel filter and cleaned air filter. Any suggestions on the bad idle?

I have been trying to chase down what would be causing my high egts. At first I bought into my turbo was not the right size, the tuning on quadzilla could off, and bit the bullet after all that and got rpms in the range they “should be” with no luck still. So I watched a video of MM and noticed the engine load was 17-19% while driving 65mph. My engine load at idle in neutral or park is 20-22%. In drive not moving 26%. Driving at 65mph on flat ground little to no wind 25-30% engine load=warmer egt’s. Now if I’m going slightly down hill and my engine load is 23% or lower my egts mimic the egts in the video I watched. I have a few questions. What are some possible causes of …

  16. i apologize for starting a new thread on this beaten to death topic especially since i know the info i'm looking for is out there, ive read a few threads where moparman goes over a more foolproof diagnosis strategy for discerning between a dead pedal apps failure vs vp44 failure. after searching for the last hour and a half i can't find the threads or info i'm looking for. anyway my truck is 2002 ho 6 spd. 130k nv5600. edge jwa, with pressure gauge and egt installed and an analog fuel pressure gauge. ddrp mounted on frame producing 17psi at idle and no lower than 9-10psi at wide open towing heavy. ABOUT A YEAR AGO: so i'm going to paste some stu…

  17. I've realized that part of doing business is accepting whats available. Such as the nearly impossible 2nd gen 5 spd Trans on a fair priced truck. I found a very clean 2nd gen one ton dually, nearly perfect, it is priced right but, has the automatic trans. My question is... do the one tons come with a better built trans? More reliable? It has 177 K miles. It's a 1996.... are the front end problems the same as the 2002 trucks with trac bar and tie rods and BJs'? I might add, it was a power company truck so it was regularly maintained and will check fluids, and how she runs in the morning.

  18. Hello All, Over the years I have jumped around the different fueling boxes. I have uncovered my old edge comp box without the wiring harness. I can get a new harness for $150.00 from Edge but before I shell out $150.00 for the harness I would like to verify my box works. I called Edge and they told me that my box is too old, build date of 12/31/2002, and they no longer support testing of this box but can provide the wiring harness. If someone out there has a wiring harness that they can provide a wiring diagram so I can make my own, or if I could plug my box into someones truck and confirm it works before I shell out $150.00 to buy a new h…

Hey Guys, New to the Forum, but not new to Cummins diesel trucks. I limped my Cummins home on idle as this is all it would do. 2002 Dodge Cummis 4x4 6 speed manual. Basically stock, except for Smarty programmer and Airdog 100 fuel pump along with pillar gauges to monitor. Host of codes showing up when I read them off my Smarty programmer. I swear I have a bad ground or something of that nature, but I don't know where else to look. I'm almost at my wits end! Things I have already done: Cleaned battery terminals both batteries. Replaced APPS with Timbo Replaced MAP sensor-Factory Cummins part Replaced IAT sensor -Factory Cummins part …
