Just curious, but what would happen if one were to bypass the ECM and install a switch to turn on the fuel pump? Mine works fine, but I was always curious about it.

Hey Guys, I dug around and tried to see if anyone has posted this so apologies if someone has. Trucks a 2001. Does anyone know if I can test the MAP / Turbo Boost sensor for voltage or to see if its bad? I have a FASS Titanium and 5" exhaust turbo back and that's it. I had a quadzilla at one point which I removed when I got the truck. Had the APPS filter tap and the ECU, removed that. For about a month I have been struggling with my truck having zero power after half throttle. No power, no acceleration, no B*lls. Here is a list of things that I have tested or changed. APPS - Made sure to unhook batteries and have the ECU relearn the …

I was trying to find a article from years ago about cleaning them and no luck. Is MAF by CRC sensor cleaner the same thing? I think I just remembered, clean then with acetone?

Ok, so I decided to clean my MAP and IAT sensor today on the 99 24valve I just bought. There were no check engine lights, and it runs and drives good. I just figured it wouldn't hurt to clean them. This is the first time I have ever done this. I took out the MAP Sensor, it was pretty clean, but I did some work on it. Then I take out the IAT sensor, which is below the MAP at the bottom of the block??The two sensors look the same except for the electrical connections. I did some reading on other threads before I did this and everything I seen, the IAT has like a white plastic tube extruding from the sensor. The black is the MAP, and the tan was from the IAT sensor location?…

Twice now only with the edge comp on getting on it a little goes in to limp mode scanguage says it’s boost sensor code, replace sensor runs fine with the edge turned off or even with it on it runs good until I get on it,then blows the sensor again, weird. side note I had a 53 block that cracked so I replaced it with a new one, that old engine ran really good with the same edge chip same ecm, wire harness,vp44,sensors swapped over to the new engine,so I didn’t want to blame the chip right off the bat since it worked so well before, any ideas? Thanks

Hi Guys,I am attempting to unplug the electrical connectionplug for the MAP sensor and I can't get the darn thing to move.I see (with the use of a mirror) two red pieces down near the brass part of the MAP sensor - on the plug body. Are these supposed to be pushed to release or pulled to release ?I cannot for the life of me figure out how it comes off (at 69 I'm getting slow and old eh!). It is a pain as there isn't a lot of room to work in to start with. While I am on the subject of electrical connectors - is the IAT the same or a different type to unlock and remove ?Sheesh, why does Dodge have to be different to everyone else re connectors? I'm not an electrician so my e…

I have a code just set for the first time yesterday sure yesterday it was PO238 map sensor voltage high, I cleared this yesterday to see what would happen today Turned ignition on today and PO237 map sensor voltage low set, no PO238 Done the diagnostics for the 237 code and everything checks out except map voltage is 0.5v ignition on not running or running, it does increase to around 1v to 1.6v if stalled in gear I got 5.2v on orange which tells me the 5v supply is good, no other sensor codes set no short to earth on the other 2 wires or each other I haven't disconnected the ecm plugs and checked continuity of these two Fitted a quad a…

The truck fell flat on her face, dead pedal. got a 0237 code. Checking out the forums I've seen the code called Map sensor, Boost sensor, Turbocharger sensor. I just want to confirm that they are all one in the same. I found the part on Rock Auto's website for $200 just want to make sure it is the right part. Or if anyone knows where to get it for less. Also, I've done the adjust APPS to correct voltage. Is this just a patch till the inevidible and should just be replaced? Thanks.'02 HO 3500 6sp airdog, mbrp, edge w/att, aem intake.

My truck has been eating MAP sensors lately. I can't remeber how or when the the first of the last 3 failed but it seems to me it happened after another repair. This last one was working when I parked the truck Friday and replaced the master cylinder. Get that done and start the truck and the MAP is not working, complete with another p0237 code. No readingmfrom it on the scan gauge. The previous one failed when the VP went over Thanksgiving. I bought a couple cheap a member here found as a spare. 15 bucks so I had little faith in it working and it did not. The odd thingmI found on the truck was that I apparently some where in the past have swapped my IAT and MAP lo…

I had a bad MAP maybe 2 or 3 months ago so ordered a SMP MAP from Rock along side the long steering joint, long story short, the steering joint bashed a hole in the box and on arrival no MAP, it had simply fallen out somewhere in the well over 3kmiles to get to me, to be fair Rock sent a replacement straight away, actually within the very same day as the delivery day, cured the no boost problem no bother Fast forward 2 or 3 months and the same deal, intermittant no boost then everything all good for a indetermined time then no boost and NO power I have been running my quad on LVL1 stock with boost fooling due to the damn cost of fuel here in the uk, order…

I have heard that their is a mod where you can trick the map sensor into fueling all the time. How does one go about doing this I’ve heard you can throw resistors at it or a buddy of mine told me that you can put that sensor under a certain amount of pressure tricking it to fuel all the time. Does this work? If it does how much hp could you gain? Will the engine check light come on? If the resistors do work how do u go about doing that. Really any info will work. Really looking for info just on the 2 gens.

What's everyone one using for a map sensor? My stock one maxes out at 40psi. I'm suspect that I'm making more boost than 40. I have the quadzilla BT gauges and dont want to run manual gauge.

I have a lift pump acting up and replacing it Wed. On the way to this morning my check engine light came on and I got an 0237 on the code reader. I read the check list on the error code page, so my question is can the map sensor just go out causing the code or is there any correlation between a bad lift pump and a map error?

Hey guys I've got a weird issue. The map sensor randomly goes out or how ever you'd put it, like I can start my truck and quad adr boost says 47psi, I can kill the truck and start it again in 5 mins and sometimes it'll fix its self other times I'm just stuck driving with a rough diesel guzzling gold painted turd. Can ANYONE point me in the direction of where to start?

Hey guys, I have 50 hp injectors and the quad installed but not wire tapped because the transmission has not been upgraded yet. I've been running the quad on level 2 most of the time with occasional level 3. I have never seen the boost on the quadzilla app go above 22 psi and am showing 1 psi at 55 mph. I did a leak check and found a couple of small leaks at the lower boots which i tightened. Seat of the pants says the truck is putting out more power but the MAP reading seems low to me. I do not have a boost gage on the truck to compare with the quadzilla reading. My question: Is the boost readings that I am getting fo…

Hi All looking to replace a Gen 2 map sensor with a heavy duty one. I have located severall sensors but I don't know the correct thread pitch or style. I have several to choose from and the only O.E.M. one I have is in the running truck. So hopefully someone knows or can pick it out of a line up. TIA Michael MAP Pressure ports.pdf
