HI All, Does anyone know what series Metra pak plugs are used on my 2001 Dodge? There are several sensors with the locks on the Metra paks broken and I wish to replace them. Thanks Michael

  2. Hey guys. I'm at my uncles this weekend and he says he had a programmer that changes tire sizes. I have been wanting to do that for a bit so I said sure. I didn't even think it would try to tune my truck also. I have my comp box in the truck as well. I set the tire size and went for a drive. It felt like the the timing was all over the place!!!! I turned the comp off and it seemed to smoothen out but I have a serious power loss now. I tried to get back in with the other programmer to erase all its settings and now it won't recognize the truck. It says that it's not the original vehicle. This programmer is a smart chips "micro max" tuner. Obd II plug in. I have to drive 20…

Return home from our trip up to McCall, Idaho without a hitch after installing the new Timbo APPS at the RV park. Started doing a service on the truck here at home and noticed a little side play in the turbo shaft. Don’t know how much play but it’s enough I can feel it. I’m thinking I should replace it now before it gets worse. Anyone recommend a good stock replacement turbo? The truck is a 2000. Mostly stock. I’ve added Edge Easy box, FASS lift pump, a 4 inch exhaust turbo to Tail pipe and a PakBrake exhaust brake system. Truck has 110,000 miles on it. I don’t want a rebuilt turbo, I prefer new without breaking the bank. Appreciate any opinions…

  4. 1999 Dodge 2500, 24Valve, 4x4, Automatic Transmission, I have dropped the transmission pan to do an oil and filter change. Got all the oil drained out and filter removed. I then proceed to adjust the rear band. I am new the adjusting bands, but consider my self a good mechanic(until now), So I back off the tension nut. set the torque wrench to 72 lbs. Starting turning. It getting really tight and then the adjusting screw starts to strip, so I stop. I have realized that I have the wrench on 72 FOOT pounds not INCH pounds!:banghead::banghead::banghead:. I only got to about 30ft pounds when it striped. After about two hours of trying I have got the adjusting screw removed. I…

Soon as I can get the cash together, I'd like to get my truck to Mike and keep him busy for a few weeks.... Automatic to manual swap, exhaust brake and new exhaust system, rebuild front suspension. I'll think of more. Oh yeah, track down some oil leaks on the motor. Maybe replace the fuel tee behind the head (can't reach it myself), replace left front axel seal, flush cooling system and replace radiator. Might as well do the rear main seal on engine while transmission is out. $1,500 ought to cover it. ?

I'm thinking this brake will fit mine, and I shouldn't really have to have the downpipe? I have 4" MBRP from the turbo back on mine now, and this looks like it also fits an HX from my 02 ? Buddy isn't quite sure if it's all there, thought maybe you could tell by the pictures since you have one on your truck http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98-5-02-2nd-gen-all-products/547752-banks-exhaust-brake-f-s-edmonton-ab.html - - - Updated - - - I guess I shoudn't have just asked Mike on this seeing others are running the brakes too :banghead:. Anyone else want to chime in?

ok....I know I'm running a lifted truck with 315 tires and 4:10 gears but doesnt 13mpg still sound really bad? 120 miles of the 200 i just drove was highway at 57 mph. the rest was in city and some extended idling for warm up before driving. also, my exhaust manifold is cracked...but I don't know how much this would affect it. What do ya think?

I bought a 2001 Laramie 4 months ago with 190,000 miles. It had an intank lift pump and had never tasted 2 stroke its entire life. Over the last 4 mos. I've been working bringing it up to proper standards, ie, complete fuel system upgrade, electrical connections /grounds cleaned. Everything done has gradually increased mileage numbers with the big line kit, added pre filter, drinks of 2 stroke oil, but the biggest surprise was running the fuel return down the fill neck. This has helped most of all because air bubbles were getting sucked up the 1/2 inch draw straw.( explains my erratic fuel pressure readings prior)

  12. You guys got to check this out... Below article is from... http://www.dieselbombers.com/alternative-fuels-additives-fluids/953-2-stroke-oil-thread-13.html#post482310 After calling back the military testing facility in Manching, bavaria I got some interesting news. -It doesn't matter what kind of Diesel engine 2-stroke oil is added. It is designed as an lubrication and cleaning aid. It burns itself cleaner than Diesel. -recommended mixture is 1:200 down to 1:250. A higher mixture will devlop blue smoke again. - Use of 2-stroke oil is demanded, when not knowing the source of Diesel or assuming impurities or dilluted Diesel. This is what every…

Alright guys I am experiencing a miss at all RPMs. It is pretty noticeable near the engine with a knock, but is extremely noticeable at the exhaust. It is easy to feel that the exhaust is "puffing" per say. Now I just replaced the injectors with a new set of 125hp sacs, but the miss was prevalent before the injector swap. The swap did not make a difference. Everything sounds the exact same as before the swap. I have fuel squirting out of each connection at the cross over tubes while running. MoparMan and I spoke on the phone earlier and have decided to take a systematic approach to resolving this issue. Ruled out: 1. Injection pump: Always supplied good pressure, less t…

Fitted my 60hp injectors today and now have a slight 'miss' at idle truck pulls hard still no issues higher in the rpm range just a vibration in the cab at idle. Any ideas??

  16. Started by dorkweed,

This is for the old '99 that the parents have now. It's got a "miss" at idle............but only after the engine has gotten up to operating temp. Cold idle is normal with no miss. It's a miss, but the computer adjusts by increasing the idle speed slightly after warm up.. Running up and down the road, she runs as good as ever. Dad says she's been averaging 19mpg most every fill up. What should I look for and check to diagnose this??? Thanks guys!!

I ran acroos this post that pretty much describes a problem I've been having for some time now. First post that clearly explains why miss in idle when warm and why ac on it goes away. Any rpm above idle runs fine. One other question. When this happens is ac off idle is missing or ruff, if I turn the engine off then re-start ruff idle miss is gone why?????? From all the reading I've done on injectors seems the one's called rv275 seem very popular and majorty say they work very good. Anyone have any other thoughts comments on replacment injectors? Is it good idea to replace the connect tubes or just a new O ring k?…

New to the site and i know that this topic has probably cover dozens of times. I feel my issue is slightly unique than others covered on here. Truck runs fine at operating temp of 190, until you down shift into a lower gear such as 2nd or 3rd and use that gear to hold you back going down a hill for a slightly longer period of time(or shut off for a few minutes it will start to miss as well). It starts to miss and rough idle this will continue until you can accelerate through the gears(miss will stick around until 1800 or so RPM). If it is shut off while missing you can come out the next morning and start it up it will still have a miss/rough idle. I had i…

  20. Ok guys and gals this is my first post here and i feel like im out of options. I know mopar man is the man so figured i would try here. I have spent over $4800 on this one problem and the Dodge dealer or local shops cannot figure out the problem. The truck has been like this for 3 years and im about to just part it out LOL. Here is the problem. The truck starts and runs fine when u first fire it up. It idles like it is supposed to until it gets to operating temps. Once it gets to normal temp it starts to "miss" at idle unless i keep the RPM at 1500 or higher. Once it misses the check engine light comes on and puts truck in limp mode. I can pull over, clear the codes with …
