On my 99 3500, I have a smog check due. I have a Smarty which I just put back to the stock mode. How long or how many mile are required before the history is removed. Is there a way I can check it before I take it to get it smoged? I have a normal reader and the Smarty. Thanks

FSM says 156 in-lbs. I used a Napa filter and rubber gasket when I did my fluid change. It seems that the bottom of the pan is slightly damp in one section, so fluid is very slowly leaking in one area. Before taking it apart and redoing the gasket, how much more could I torque down the bolts to try to stop the leak? 5%? 10%?

Ok... Researched this, but to no avail. This site is not working for me, but I want to see it http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummin...d/vac-diag.jpg So, in Texas, it rains and when it does it POURS!!! and when your 4x4 doesn't work it's not good in this odd soil. Started at the vaccum pump, has good suction there, tracked it too the T section on the fire wall (the grey/white line). This line has suction that is lookin like it goes to the T-Case... Then kinda disparages but I haven't put a lot of time into finding it from there. It's hard to get to the top of the T-Case... So then I went to the CAD (actuator) on the front passenger side of the axle. The CAD has no suc…

Was having over boost issues and when I put air to my wastegate it wouldn’t budge so I pulled the turbo thinking the valve in the turbo was froze. Got it all apart and turbo is nice and free but I noticed that the actuator rod was stretched out pretty good. Does this look normal? Or did the fella crank the waste gate down to get more boost

I just installed the new FASS titanium 95gpm pump today. While the truck is running the fuel pressure guage bounces back and forth from 10 to 20 psi and it seems like it's in rhythm with the engine. What is making my pressure guage do this? It levels out some when driving. Fuel pressure never drops below 15 psi at WOT. The raptor did something similar but it was more like a vibration in the pressure guage. Air in the pressure gauge line maybe? And I still think the vp is shot. Same symptoms as before. I tried to post a video but it wouldn't work.

I was under the truck today for other reasons and turns out my slave cylinder is leaking! I know they're easy to replace, and relatively cheap at NAPA, but has anyone else had this happen? Seems so strange for the slave to start leaking, but then again the truck is mad it's been sitting...

My '01 truck is pretty much stock with the exception of the Superchip Cortex set on "performance tow". 4.10 gears, 31" tires, auto. I pull a trailer occasionally and travel in the Rockies, usually less that 8000#'s. I notice the egt's start creeping up to the 1100 degree mark or slightly higher unless I let off some on a long pull. I have read on here that 1100 is reaching the limit. I am old enough now that I don't drive it like I stole it, but do not want to damage anything because I plan on keeping this truck a long time. I am also hesitant to make any changes in the programmer settings because I am afraid I will screw something up. Are these temps normal? Am I causin…

Is there any logical reason why I can't install a filter in the return fuel line? My fuel supply line goes from fuel tank to Airdog (95 or 100?) then directly to VP44 and very happy with the way AD is plumbed and mounted.

Hay all. I've had a Diablo PP, boost elbow and boost fooler for quite some time. Recently the fooler died so I removed it. I still can get boost over 27, yet I don't throw a code? What am I missing? I thought I'd get a code after 22? Or will I have to maintain 22+ for a certain amount of time ?? Thoughts? Thank you.

Has anyone with an automatic trans had their transmission Heat exchanger (located on the passenger side of the block) fail?If so is this a prone part to fail? The reason im asking is that at 10 years, and 8 year old engine coolant(before i changed it), im wondering if it will stand the test of time, or if i should go about replacing it, and avoiding trashing my fully built transmission.

This is an edit on what I wrote below: There is definitely something wrong in the pump controls which must mean the ecm. I started thinking about the transmission phantom shifting problems these truck have when the alternator is leaking ac current in to the dc system. That has been happening to me occasionally. I decided to clean my battery terminals as they needed it and can be a contributing factor to the power/ecm issue. I then started the truck and had no problem with the lift pump cutting out for 15 minutes then it shut off again. I pulled up the electrical schematic and found the positive wire to the lift pump split in to two wires that both go in to the ecm. I am r…

Getting ready to order boost/tranny temp/EGT gauges soon. From what I've read, I need 0-1600 EGT, but not sure range of boost gauge. Is 60 PSI boost good enough? Also, anyone running the tranny cooler line from dieselmanor which is already t-fitted for a sender? http://www.dieselmanor.com/dm_products/DM-CLG2.asp

Hi Guys,I am attempting to unplug the electrical connectionplug for the MAP sensor and I can't get the darn thing to move.I see (with the use of a mirror) two red pieces down near the brass part of the MAP sensor - on the plug body. Are these supposed to be pushed to release or pulled to release ?I cannot for the life of me figure out how it comes off (at 69 I'm getting slow and old eh!). It is a pain as there isn't a lot of room to work in to start with. While I am on the subject of electrical connectors - is the IAT the same or a different type to unlock and remove ?Sheesh, why does Dodge have to be different to everyone else re connectors? I'm not an electrician so my e…
