Hello guys, I've just returned from a road trip and check with my edge JWA trouble codes and found a p0122. I notice a change in APPS % . I set it and got 0% at idle but after around 1 month now I have like 3-4% at idle and when colder with intake heater cycle, its 5-7% idle and drop to 0% when grid heater is on, after goes up to 5-7% .. Now I'll try to disconnect the batteries and try to relearn the APPS! Can it be the APPS begin to get tired? I changed it 2-3or4 years ago (dont remember) with an APPS from rockauto! If I need to change the APPS wich one do you recommend me? best for cheap!! or simply the best that will last more. Thanks

  2. Gents and ladies, This is my first post on any forum ever but I figured mopar mans forum would be the best. I'm really stuck on what's happening with my truck and it's so annoying because I just got it running beautifully not too long ago. I will start off with some back ground of the truck and the problem. Its a 2001 with about 210k miles, 2wd, automatic trans, bhaf air filter, 4 inch straight pipe, and until recently (I took it off thinking maybe it was causing my issues) an old quadzilla adrenaline that replaced my super chips (I say old because it is one of the first boxes made and I got it used, had the big power resistor replaced, then tested at qua…

  3. Looking for some help... something has gone wrong! 02 Cummins, 103k, FASS150, EJWA CTS2 I installed the EJWA about a month ago... did everything myself, install went great, truck ran great. The only problem I had was I didn't think I was getting the full power of the chip from levels 3-5. There was no big difference between the two, and I had read enough and spoken to several people to know that shouldn't be the case. This lead me to buy a BD Stealth plate, which I installed Friday night. Here is where the troubles began... install went great, only problem was the gasket set I bought did not have the two Gaskets for the intake manifold. Therefore I had to reuse the one…

Good evening guys! I went to go start my truck this morning it was about -4*C and it just cranked and cranked and cranked. Plugged in a code reader and got the code P0253 and the tpyical overboost code from the edge comp. Once the codes cleared, i turned the key back off, waited a couple few minutes, then attempted to start the truck again, started right away like nothing happened. let it idle for a couple minutes then hit the exhaust brake and let it idle for about 10 minutes, then shut it off and carried on my day driving my other truck as i had to be at the airport to leave for work. Side note, it would have very seldomly like once a month if that for the past 3 or…

So recently I’ve been noticing when i leave in the mornings for work after letting my truck warm up, my coolant temp is never past 165. No matter how long I let it warm up. I Was hauling my horse trailer this morning it was 34° And the coolant temp never reached 190. Maybe touched it once on an uphill but otherwise no. Is this a problem? Stuck thermostat?

Well... On my way home tonight my exhaust system started to fall apart. I lost the section between the muffler and the U section over the axle. Time to give up on the old stock pipe and replace it completely. I need a 4 inch exhaust system that comes with a flow through muffler and straight pipe. I'm wanting something that is designed to combat road salt and rusting for a long time. Time to see what you all suggest for the exhaust system. At this point, my truck is parked and I'll be using the 96 Dodge Ram 1500 for the time being till I get the new exhaust or manage to make a turn down for my existing system. So I need to get to work tomorrow on @IBMobile VP44…

I keep getting intermittent "dead pedal" i just flap the pedal a few times and it comes back to life. Then engine light comes on and i get the code come up for it too when i do the "key thing". Lol Anyway it has been happening more frequently so I am going to buy a new APPS TPS sensor. I know all about the timbo apps as well the WELLS ve tps but I keep seeing these ones on eBay for $20 US free shipping. Read a few reviews and people are saying they're not having any problems with the new or updated version. The part number I'm looking at is GEGT7610-172 and the brand is ISUMO. Does anybody have any real world testing with these to prove whethe…

Well today while doing my oil change I finally gave up on my Frantz Filter. I've had enough. Back when I got it was rather easy to just change filters (roll of toilet paper) and go on. Well now toilet paper is so different from brand to brand and now the length is wrong, core size is different, etc. Just a big pain in my to deal with now. So I'm pulling it off and removing it permanently. I'll be looking towards a better solution in time with a remote mount base and a spin on bypass filter some wrote up in the past. The other thing is I'm tired of the leaking lid all the time no matter what I do I've always got oil oozing out of the can. I'm tired of the oily mess and fi…

  9. So i replace my old style 3/8 fass system with a new airdog II-4g model due to no lift pump pressure and couldn't get system to prime and get rid of the air. Now even with the new system in, I go a few blocks down the road and my low fuel pressure light turns on and starts stumbling when going to a stop and sounds awful. What the ;lkjasdf;ljasd;lfkja is going on here? Im getting fed up...ive been so frustrated trying to figure this out the past couple months. I love cummins but this one is beating me up. And don't want to risk trying to drive it to a cummins shop. This is the greatest site ever btw.

I made it home and did some checking and if i start it it idles fine when i get it to run in gear with my foot on the brake the accelerater does not respond .i can mash it all the way to the floor and nothing happens if i let go of the brake it will start to roll then the pedal responds.can anyonr help? Thanks

Today i went out and popped my hood to check the oil and noticed my drivers side negative battery cable was unhooked like it came loose. I thought i fixed my apps when i reset it but i must have just forgot to put the negative cable back on the battery. So is my rapid studdering a bad APPS? or is it a bad alternator? I do have the p0122 code and it cleared while the cable was unhooked. I dont wanna replace one and have it be the other. But while the negative cable was unhooked i didnt have any issue with my shuddering. Im kinda stuck until i figure this out.cause i cant drive over 50mph without it shuddering like crazy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, k…

I need to replace my bummed ECM and got a good deal on a 2000 model. I have a 98.5. The seller, of course, tells me that it will work. After looking through the forums I hear both that it will and won't work. Does anyone have any first hand experience success or failure?!

  14. I am planning on getting a blank new ECM from Chrysler, as I can get it for wholesale, a mere $1003.00 before tax. :spend:FYI all, the ECM listed on RockAuto is not the Cummins ECM, its the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), thankfully RockAuto takes returns. :smart:Then, if the ECM install goes well, I am getting a set of the Bosch RV 275 injectors. Then, if the truck runs well, I am going to put my edge back on.Then, I am going to fix the control arms. Then, ... it never ends does it. :lmao:Has anybody installed an ECM before? Anybody have issues that I could be facing? I am planning on buying it new, supposedly "blank" and having a mechanic friend of mine with a curre…

Well Chuck... How is the AMSOil Synthetics working for you? I've got lots of people asking about using synthetic 2 cycle oil in the fuels but I was uncertain of the results you've gotten so far. So I'll let you continue this thread for the others... But I'm curious myself of the results you got so far! 8-)

Good evening, Can someone tell me when doing a boost leak test... should the system stay pressurized if you have no leaks? Should your boost gauge rise to the pressure you apply? Thanks!

First time poster, appreciate all the info exchanged here. 2001 2500 ETH (six speed) 245HP (I have owned the truck since new - June of 2000) I think the current (subject) VP was installed by me around 2003??? and is the second replacement pump on this engine. I have always changed fuel filters and "check" lift pump pressure with a mechanical gauge which is anywhere from 6 PSI WOT to 12-14 PSI (25 second no start check). I have a FASS DDRP installed (2011), (new overflow valve and fuel drain valve installed recently. So......I am here looking for a little help I have had an intermittent dead pedal about one year now.....It has progressively gotte…

  18. I have seen several threads on how big a load you can pull. How big of a load have you hauled in your bed. I just had to go after brick for my mason. I put 2 cubes of brick in the bed. That is somwhere in the neighborhood of 6k pounds. The truck had plenty of power to haul, my rv out weighs it considerably. the first cube put it just above the overloads and the second cube put hard on them. I was able to get the load centerd in the bed(2 cubes=6'-6" long) which helped put some weight to the front. But i was really suprised she handled that much weight in the bed as well as it did. She sat level, rode great, steering was a little light but handled pretty normal, when you h…

Hi All, my truck has recently presented a new issue. The oil pressure reads rather high, mostly all the time on the gauge on the dash. I'm thinking the oil pressure sensor could be failing, but I would rather make sure my oil pressure is correct. The bad news is I'm about 200 miles away from home for the next week and don't have my service manual with me (doh!). The good news is I have access to tools so I may be able to solve this while I'm here. I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge and was thinking about testing the pressure first before making assumptions, does anyone know if anyone posted an article about how to prope…

So I have searched here after reading an article on CF about fluid to use in the NV5600. Some say Pennzoil, Amsoil, OEM..etc. First off, is the Syncromesh transission fliud made for the GM brand the same stuff reccomended for this tranny? From what I can read I think it is, just makes a fella question it when GM sells for less then half of what Dodge dealers want. I have also read the theory of adding the limited slip (1 bottle) to the tranny when doing an oil change to it. Has anyone in here been doing it to theirs? I think i'm going to do a fluid change on mine and not sure what to put in it. I can't get the Pennzoil or Amsoil here in Canada where I live so it's gonig …
