Hi guys! Two days ago I had my Airdog100 installed at a shop local to the area I live. That night I went and picked it up and I had 22 miles to drive home. It idled fine when I left the shop, partway home it kinda sputtered alittle like there was a dead pedal for a couple seconds. Parked in garage and next day went to go get kids and it did it again with the pedal. I got it home and looked it over. Two hours later went to go pick kids up and it wouldnt start at first. I could hear the pump engage and then I left key on for about 30 sec just in case it needed that time to build pressure. It did finally start and rpm's were from 800 down to 500 jumping back and for…

Ok I have been reading posts on fuel temperature effecting the vp44.No one is saying what is a good temperature for the fuel! How hot is to hot?How cold is to cold?If the overflow valve is not allowing fuel to return to the tank then you are stuck with the temperature that is coming from the tank.If the overflow valve is open then the temperature is what is generated under the hood and from friction in the pump and injector pump!So would a inline cooler be a improvement? then if the air is to cold it seems like it would be a detrament and you would want a inline heater.Just some thoughts in my head and I would like to see other peoples thought on this

Thanks for the diagram on the lift pump kill relay for the hot hard start Michael! That's just what I was looking for! I'm assuming you're just using a normal, 12 volt relay? -Pin 85 on the relay you're just tapping into the starter solenoid wire?-Pin 86 on the relay is just to ground?-Pin 30 on the relay is the positive wire that would be going into the stock plug on the stock lift pump if I was using the stock pump?

So, I bought my truck a few months ago. Nice condition, well taken care of but was completely stock. I talked to previous owner and he said he had transmission built with heavy duty parts for towing and at the same time he went through and replace ring and pinion, seals, bearings in rear end at same time. I am and have done some upgrades but just want a good maintained reliable truck. Sorry I am going on and on but getting back to having rear end redone. When I changed the rear differential speed sensor today I pulled old one out and there were metal filings on the piece that sits inside the rear end. I thought maybe from before it was redone. So I put new one in …

Hey guys, I've been looking for these wheels, hard to find. 7 slot holes, and slightly different offset from the pre-2000 2nd gens. I occasionally come across them on craigslist & ebay etc, but they are few and far between since they were only made for the 2000 - 2002 model year 3500 duallys. But alas I do find them! My question has to do with the factory coating. Does anyone know if the original factory coating for these 2000-2002 wheels was paint? or powder coat? Thanks!

Does two cycle fuel stop gelling in the winter? It would seem logical that someone would have taken some of the fuel mixed with two cycle oil, and put a sample in the freezer and looked at it as it got cold to see if it would gel!I haven't seen any posts where someone has tried it.

So a couple of nights ago I built a manifold for the fps on the quadzilla (I have access to hydraulic fluid fittings in all sizes) and was able to install my fps since I bought the programmer. I noticed the first night the pressure jumped around alot, and would drop to 6 psi on the gauge, then jump back up. I figured it was the water hammer effect, and I installed the needle valve I had bought previously but forgot about until then. She sits steady at 12-13psi idle, but continues to jump up and down while driving. I haven't romped on it (too scary to do with no 4x4 and icy roads) but it made me curious if the sensor was junk? Or? I also changed out both filters on m…

Shell has introduced a new diesel in my area, they call it FIT diesel. They claim to have corrosion inhibitors, anti gel and anti wear protection added. The station by me has had in the past 10% bio diesel. So i did not run any two stroke in that. I want to ask the company some questions as they also claim to have raised the cetane level in the new fuel. If you google shell fit diesel they have a FAQ section on their site but have very vague answers. I guess my question is, what do i specifically ask them for? Cetane score? HHFR score? What? Anyone that knows diesel may be able to decipher what it is saying but i can't. Do i run two stroke with this new diesel…

Hey all, so finally got around to changing my coolant. It went fairly well. Started with draining as much as I could through the rad drain. I parked my truck facing on my slight downhill slope and then jacked the rear up as much as I could. Unfortunately I only got about 4-4.5 gallons out. Anyway, then I closed the drain and flushed with garden hose for a few mins on high idle until the water coming out was flat and no longer foamy. Open d the drain at the end just to flush that a little as well. Then shut off the water and let the truck run for a few seconds til water stopped coming out the upper rad hose. Then shut truck off and allowed to drain. Next put thermosta…

Would there be any advantage to running a separate heavy ground cable from the PCM to the negative battery post? Would it help/ possibly save the PCM in the event of any future electronic abnormalities?Second; How about an external voltage regulator using a mechanical type regulator. I say mechanical type because if it starts acting up all you need do usually, is emery cloth the contact points. It is also has a feature of being able to adjust the voltage simply by adjusting the spring screw.Third, is it possible that the ECM Could avoid future damage if it did not have to run the lift pump and/or the AD Raptor relay? Asking because I would use an oil pressure switch that…

Started working on my Airdog pump and low pressure fuel gauge today. Pressure tested at the Airdog port and it shows 21 ½ pounds on one of Vulcans gauges. I’ve read people like 15-17psi . I assume the psi would be the same closer to vp44. Question 1…Is 21 psi OK or is it too high and might damage pump? Model of pump is DF 100 which I think is not adjustable, but not 100% sure. The pump is mounted with the fuel line from Airdog just the way they ship it and was not cut to fit. So pump is about ½ way between VP44 and sump at tank. To take up the slack in the fuel line, the guy put a circle bend in the line under the airhorn and already chaf…

Ok, well, as some of you know, my trucks tcase pooped the bed on the way to my new job. It's home now, safe at my friends shop. I'm 900 miles away though, so I can't do anything but think about what I need to fix, what I should do, etc. Now obviously the tcase is priority. Once that's fixed, she's good to go. But given that the last two times this truck has gone on a long trip and left me stranded, I'm leery about some things. The truck has 265000 on it (I think). I think the vp is the original. Not sure if the previous owner had it rebuilt, or replaced, or anything. He said he had the transmission rebuilt, but that was an obvious lie. So I choos…

As things come up, I will resurrect this thread to ask questions. Will I be able to have the clutch pedal safety switch to lock out starting unless clutch pedal is depressed? Do you see it as possible to do the swap on the shop floor without a lift? I'll get one of those harbor freight transmission jacks. I had a ride in a same year truck as mine with a nv4500. I like the personality of the manual transmission. I'm looking forward to swaping out mine!

Unknown percentage of mixture. 1st QUESTION...Any certain type of solder for battery cables? 2nd got these things in pic that are 2 ought in size. Are these in pick or do I actually need the type that circle the battery post? And already picked up "military" type battery posts. Any help Thanks

So I get the low battery light otw home, barely make it home with my edge reading 9v. I pull the 2 pin plug on the back of the alternator to check to see if the computer is calling for the alternator to charge. On the hot wire I got 9v,the ground wire I get 40 ohms . Isn't 40 ohms to high for the ground? I figured it should read a lot lower, didn't know if that was why my alternator isn't charging or not.

To install the 1/2" fuel line you need to get the quick connect off the top of the fuel tank. They call them quick connect, but NOT quick disconnect. Any tips of removing the quick connect? Drop tank? If I drop the tank I should do a draw straw too. - - - Updated - - - Someone told me that a zip tie fastened around the coupler at the release ears will allow the line to come off.

I cranked up the truck this morning, and let it warm up a little, got back in the truck and the CEL was on and the tach was dead. P0336 was the code, so I was wondering if the sensor is only for the tach, or does it have another purpose? I think the Camshaft position sensor on the '01-'02's can leave you stranded, but I'm not sure if a crank sensor could? I searched for 20 minutes and couldn't find an answer. Also, the truck would stumble for a second and then the tach would come back, then a minute later it would stumble and the tach would die. After a while the tach was fine, and the CEL was staying on. I tried erasing the codes, but it wouldn't let me. After an aft…
