  3. My injection pump went out last week on my 2000 5.9L Dodge. It had been running just fine, about 20mpg.I got an error code of P1688. So I went to the vendor list here and ordered one from Diesel Auto Power. So far everything has worked out with replacing the pump. Except when I pulled the old pump out the keyway stayed in the gear instead of coming out with the pump. I was able to grab the keyway with a pair of vise grip's and pull it out. :pray:I think I didn't move the gear but if it has been moved do I have to remove the cover and check for TDC on the gears? I hate working out in the snow, ice and wind.Is there anyway to tell if the timing has moved without removing …

  4. Replacing the vp44 should I replace the cam sensor too as it is easy to get to with the vp44 removed.

I finally spent some time this weekend pulling and resealing my vacuum pump. I have been having some pretty good oil leaks as of late, also a ton of smoke ou tof the breather tube. I have also been having low vacuum issue at idle. Pretty easy to do, hardest part is getting the 4 nuts holding the PS pump to the back of the vacuum pump off. I highly suggest taking the truckt o a self wash place and power washing the area well before you start. Takes about 3 hours the first time you do it, prob half of that the next time you do it. I have been %100 drip free since rebuilding it so I am pretty happy. I also have plenty of vacuum n…

While my VP is out for repair im resealing left side of block. The old mounting bracket for the stock lift pump is in the way of removing push rod cover and it has a seal back there id like to replace. Am told there is a cap/plug like on old chevy fuel pump where you can cap it off. Not having any luck finding this. Anyone done this and know where I can locate? FOUND IT, LOOK NO FARTHER THAN DAP

Ok here is anew question you guys may be able to help me with. My return line coming from the brass"T" is leaking right at where the rubber hose coupling meets the metal tube. Is it possible to completely do away with the coupler and just cut the hose and just ad a clamp to it, or does it need the fancy coupler??

...Top of fuel module return lines…the smaller connection (roughly) is 5/16, the larger connection is 3/8. With Airdog 100 where would you connect the larger line? Return from engine or return from Airdog pump? ...Being larger lines are usually better in most cases (fuel line, exhaust, etc) Would there be any benefit going to larger return lines to fuel module? Thanks

I have developed a fuel leak that appears to be coming from the tee on the back of the engine. I called the dealership and found that in the tee are rubber seals, these may be the problem but the dealership wants twenty dollars apiece for them. Any ideas on what else to use?

  14. Just received my Edge today and the instructions say to return your trucks ECM to stock. I have no idea if the previous owner has left a program on my truck or not. The gauges he installed points towards the idea that he did have a tune on it, anyway I can know for sure? If so, whats the best way to go about this? Or is it really not a huge issue... it says potentially ECM or engine damage can result... last thing I need right now.

Thinking about throwing my old injectors back in my truck. The 75s are plenty laggy and I don’t foresee any tuning in the near future to alleviate the problem. My old stock injectors have 128k on them. Any idea on how long they will last? I’ll clean them thoroughly before reinstalling.

Has anyone tried this? Just curious, says 1 oz to 25 gal. For southern eng's in hot weather.

  17. Bad part of this is I use my truck for work "traveling" and I broke it in Indianapolis and live in western Missouri. Has anyone else had this (happen) to them? If so what all did you do to repair it? The stuff I've noticed that is not working on mine is the fuel pump, engine preheat, dome light, the radio, the ABS light comes on and i get a "no buss" message. I realized I had done something wrong when I heard the ABS system making some noise as soon as I had touched the post to the cable. I have found at least one fuse terminal shorted. There is power on both sides and I didn't smell any hot wires at any time.

So why is it I always have that model that is the "different" one? After putting a new DDRP on the truck in fall and still not having good FP and VP death code, I put out the $ and had new VP put on. Truck runs great...but still ____ poor FP. I was lucky to see 13 at idle and I could pull it to 3 at WOT. Talked to boys at geno's. Sent me new DDRP spring...should increase FP...installed it and it did....but Im still draining to 5 .... so the guys tell me to swap filter and run a bucket test (pull from a fuel can right off the DDRP). I have to be pulling air. I tear it down and I just dont like the idea of the DDRP install.I had put in a draw staw at the tank som…

  19. If anyone remembers my old post, I have done a bunch of stuff to it and just did a ton more this last month. Decided to make a new thread because the other one was getting old and enough has changed I think I need to start over. So this began with me fighting what seemed like EMI in a particular spot in town. At the time with the Edge programmer, I could watch the boost signal drop to 0 then back up to the true value and back to 0 again, truck was fluctuating between tuned and not tuned is what it felt like. Then as I left the area the tuner would kick in again and it would pump smoke out and off it would go. No amount of throttle would change its behavior. It…
