Hey guys im new to this website just signed up last night and it looks awesome so far so ill give er a try! Ok so i adjusted my valves a while ago to .010 and .020 cuz i dont think they have been for a while and the trucks got 225k on it and it seemed to run louder than a couple of other guys trucks i know in the area and a little rougher? So I read some more on how to do i and say you can put them at .008 and .018 so i tryed that and it quieted it right down and seemed to run a lot better then before. Is there something that could be wrong or is this normal for an engine with higher miles?

  2. Hey all, First time posting on the forum, but have used it in the past to fix some of my other trucks issues, some great information on here. I’ve got a problem with my 1998.5, 2500, 4x4, nv4500, 263k miles. Truck is stock with no aftermarket performance mods, and it is unfortunately a 53 block. I bought the truck recently as a back up for my 1997 7.3 as it just ticked over 500k miles and is gonna need a rebuild soon. Three weeks after I bought the truck it began giving me hard starts only after it reached operating temp. I falsely diagnosed this as a fried vp44 pump, given the fact that it still had a factory style lift pump, so I put a r…

  3. I’ve got a friends 2001 Ram 2500 that run rough, dies and doesn’t restart but this is intermittent. It will run fine for miles before it starts acting up. There was no check engine light but I checked for codes anyway and it had a P0320. I graphed the injector pump timing with my scan tool and the timing showed to be all over the place. Truck has 179,000 on it, original injector pump but has direct replacement FASS fuel pump on it. It also has the original crankshaft sensor. Questioning whether it’s the injection pump or the crankshaft sensor. Any ideas are appreciated. Thank You.

Hello everyone, I need some help determining what is happening here. I’m supposed to be taking my truck to WY in November, but this is a problem. My truck has been running ok but it doesn’t get a lot of use these days. Over the summer, I barely started it so it had fuel in it from spring time. I tend to run 1oz/1gal of 2 cycle oil in the fuel. It is stock other than putting a different lift pump and fuel lines for the pump. It has started and ran ok cold. I’ve fooled with this just a bit over the last couple weekends. I got in it and have lots of bluish/white smoke, but only after past it being cold. Today I started it and it was runnin…

I had some nasty rust on the tailgate. Idaho is using really corrosive salt this year. This is not to be perfect bit as a stop gap till I am done with my chemo or when I have the funds for the body work. Thanks to Mark he's got a nice palm sander and good assortment of sanding disc's. There where two spots where 40 grit grinder was used to dig at the deep pitted metal. Then using black primer to match the gloss black I bought today. Help bond the new paint to the metal and hopefully stop the rusting process. I've got a few spots on the body where rust blisters are starting and need the blister broke open metal cleaned up …

Has anyone installed RV275 injectors in an otherwise STOCK or very lightly modified truck and ran it on a dyno? Anyone made dyno pulls mostly stock vs 275 injectors? I have a 01 4wd auto. Bought it cheap with 174xxx miles needing some minor work. The only engine upgrades are a BHAF, a Fuel Boss pump and new Bosch RV275 injectors. Truck runs much smoother with better starting after the injector swap but I'm curious how much HP and TQ the injectors really add.

I asked many times what I could do to increase my performance on my 2001, auto. Being in California I can not run a tunner without headaches at smog time. WELL, truck got to 200K and I decided I wanted to change injectors as I am keeping the truck the rest of my life. Eric at Vulcan performance sold me a set of new RV275s. WOW! What an improvement. More power and milage. They improved my milage by 1.5mpg, from 12.5 to 13.9 or 14. Pulling combined load of 19,500 lbs. First thought this was favorable winds but after several trips with real hard 6% grades I am convinced that they are really great.

I know this has been hashed about before but I gotta ask. I'm thinking about a set of RV275's for my mostly stock '02 with 118,000 miles, see other stuff in my signature. I do haul a pretty heavy camper and tow a boat. The truck has a Quad ZXT+ chip thingy (pretty mild by most standards). My question is...amd I just wasting my $'s or will I see a REAL difference?Second question: Can I install them myself? I not a total idiot with a wrench and can follow directions. I was thinking it's also about time to adjust the valves too. Thanks to all for opinions.

  10. Lasts friday I spent a few hours and swapped in my RV275 injectors (40k miles) and injection pump from Blue chip diesel. I just got the base model. Everything went really well and from the time I parked it and fired it back up was less than 4 hours. I watched every video and read every single thing I could before I started work so I pretty much knew what was going on before I touched the 1st tool. Once I was done and finally got the fuel system bleed I noticed it now idles at 800 rpm. Before the swap it would idle at 900rpm in neutral and in gear it would come down to 800rpm. Now, it idles at 800rpm them dips to 700 for just a second then returns to 800. I pulled the truc…

Alright guys I have some questions regarding rv275 injectors. I've decided that these injectors will more then likely be what I go with when the time comes to upgrade mainly because I'm just looking for a mild boost in fueling without getting EGTs too crazy because I still want the truck to be able to tow a house. Questions are... -How big (hp wise) are the rv275s? I've heard multiple different claims -Are all rv275s created equal? Bosch vs DFI for example? -Biggest turbo could reasonably run on rv275s (with towing in mind)

Looking at some Bosch 0 432 193 635 injectors. They are in what appear to be Bosch boxes and sealed in yellow plastic bags. The numbers are stenciled (inked) on them. They are packed individually. Are the numbers supposed to be engraved or inked on these?. I am attaching 3 pictures.

  14. I'm looking at purchasing an s475 to replace my s366 I got unintentionally.. I found a boostlabs s475 83 .90 T4 for sale brand new for $600 on marketplace.... I would be using it for twins so the t4 has got to go. I hear there are 2 different CHRA's on the t4 vs t6 turbos. That being said how would I go about swapping to a 1.10 or similar t6 housing. Need completely new bearings housing and turbine housings?? That sounds far too expensive to be worthwhile. From what I can tell the bearing housings a mostly identical except for the diameter where the exhaust housing clamps on. Also what's the deal with the 83/74 and 87/80 and 88/96 wheel si…

So i have a chance to pick up a s475 for a great price which may allow me to run compounds sooner than i thought. If i stick with the stock hx35 would the s475 be a good match or am i going to wish i went with something smaller? Anyway studs and injectors are getting installed this week but i have some turbo decisions to make. Option 1: Stick with the original plan and buy a s362 for now and compounds later down the road. ( if i go this route i would probably run a s472 as the larger turbo.) Option 2: Pick up the s475 and run it under the hx35 right away. Also does anyone know if the egt probe that comes with the Quadzilla i…

Just my experience, I have run 6 different sets of injectors. Stock, DAP 60hp VCO, DFI 100hp VCO, DAP 100hp SAC, Contagious 40-50hp SAC and now Bosch RV275 VCO. All VCOs ran great in every scenario, and both sets of SAC injectors gave a rough/choppy idle when warm in park and a stumble when warm at light throttle. SACs ran great with some throttle, but I couldn’t handle the choppiness. SACs gave me a scare I had engine issues, but new RV275s put that to rest.

Guys, I sold my 2002. After our last trip with the camper to Florida, we decided that the truck was just too loud for us. She gave us great service and am sad to hear (haha) her go. Thanks again for your help, time and insight as I tried to make my vehicle the best it could be. I posted in the classifieds some parts I removed before the sale. I have mirrors, and edge ez, shift kit and filter, and a fuel filter for sale. If anyone is interested , let me know.

  18. 5.16 Lubricity Diesel fuel injection systems rely on the diesel fuel to prevent wear in moving parts. In limited cases, some diesel fuel with very specific properties can have insufficient lubricating properties, which can lead to excessive wear of fuel injectors and pumps. The primary properties of concern are low viscosity and lack of lubricity. The minimum viscosity is controlled by ASTM D 975 and historically lubricity has been provided by naturally occurring surface active materials. However, these natural lubricity agents can be removed if severe hydrotreating processing is used. Hydroprocesses are used to reduce sulfur and aromatics contents and with …

Lady's and Gentlemen, I have 2002 Cummins, 108,000 K miles, Superchips programmer, 4" Banks exhaust with the power elbow, Airdog fuel pump and a cold air system. I just installed a Wicked wheel. Purchased a boost elbow. Now for the question.......I have a boost gauge, it hits about 19 at max. Do not want to damage my engine but you know how we are.....I would like to squeeze a little extra out of her. What is a safe boost level? Thank you in advance!

  20. Ok gang! Going to make this as simple as possible. On another forum everyone is now believing that 5 psi is a good fuel pressure to run. This is being said by a supplier that sells VP pumps. Although the Dodge service manual says 10 psi is the minimum. I have recently had correspondence with Cummins on this topic and they say "10 psi is the minimum" for the engine. I want you all to know I run 17 psi and am HAPPY with this pressure. What do you feel is the proper pressure to run?
