Has anyone ever replaced the bearing in the belt tensioner? is this something that can be replaced and if so who has the part number of the bearing? mine is starting to squeak and i figured that this would be the cheaper route rather than replacing the entire tensioner. thank you.

  3. Sister graduated yesterday and somehow word is out that I know how to play with diesels and a guy hit me up with his 24V saying he wants to give it a tune up. This means set his valves (apparently has never been done, ever, after 160k miles) and check over some other things. I imagine being a 24V I should clean his map sensor and what else is there to check on those things? Now the thing is he went from 18 when new and has dwindled down to 12, I would think if his valves and sensors were off/dirty it would constitute the drop but what other things is there that would cause this? I don't think he has any codes or anything, just never had any maintenance done in it's li…

  5. I got the quick connect w/ the big line kit. But it only goes to the filter. So from the filter to the VP44 is the stck line. Does anyone make a big line kit that goes the rest of the way. it doesn't have to be a quick connect. I have a standard cab & the connections were a pain in the neck to find a place to make work. Sort of looks rigged the way I have it. I'll see if I can post some pix!Thnx, Dave

  8. I am wondering if there is anybody here with an exhaust brake on a 2nd gen with automatic tranny? Do they work good together? There are transmission controls available that lock the torque convertor while braking but do they only lock up in overdrive and drive, or in gears below that? I've been trying to cut through the clutter on everything that's available but not having much luck. Hopefully someone here can help me out. Also what's the best brand to be looking at? Thanks!

The guy who does the horseback rides from our vineyard has a Dodge 99 3500 dualie. His truck quit running the other day. The dealer said he had a 251 and 253 code. They replaced the VP ($1453), the intank module ($695), labor ($795), and misc. items for a total 0f $2995. He doesn't know anything about his truck. He pulls a 5 horse trailer all the time to our place. We have a very steep hill to get here. Anyways, I was telling him the importance of 14 psi minimum, and an after market fuel pump. He went back to the dealer and they told him that this was a new and improved pump! It only needed to put out 10 psi! They told him everything would be fine with this setup. Now he…

Couple questions about a rear axle swap. I have a line on a 3.54 ratio complete assembly from a '98 2500. My truck ('99 3500 DRW) is fitted with a Dana 80.1) Does a '98 2500 diesel use a Dana 80?2) Are there differences between axles used in SRW and DRW applications?3) Are there any differences between the rear axles on a rear wheel only ABS truck & all wheel ABS truck (mine is the latter)?4) Are U joints the same between the two?5) Any challenges with attaching to the springs?I'm aware of the speedo cal issue. Anything else I'm not considering?Appreciate the help,Joe in St Louis

Hi Guys, I'm new here real nice site. I came here looking for some info and hopefully some help or direction as i'm really struggling with dead gauges and a no bus odometer on my new to me '01 2500 4x4 5 speed. This truck has been rode hard and put up wet way too many times, but the drive train seems to be in decent shape and it'll work good as my farm truck. What I've done so far is remove and clean the bolted connector several times in the under hood fuse box, I have also removed and cleaned the under dash by the clutch main connector. I have tried to get codes but the only thing retrievable is 900 920 921 when I do a cluster check, all the gauges function when I do…

  18. My truck was in the Diesel Shop... the mechanic questioned "all the extra wiring under the dash".... Yes there was. I'd left the harness on the trailer brake full length as it had nice labels on each lead. I had installed an Escort Radar system (front & rear sensors wired to a under the dash box & a tiny control unit)... again left full length as they were tiny factory made connectors. They were all bundled & zip tied under the dash. None of these affect the engine but he didn't know what it was. I had an AD150 & big line system installed. Now, I'm adding a IAT fooler & XZT+. Both are plug-ins. This is important as they can be rev…

  19. So, I have repaired the front axle ABS sensor/hub/bearing or whatever you wanna call it, and have yet another pending DTC. P0126 -- not one I'm pleaseantly happy to see. I have little money to make it into next week, due to the repair I just made. Why do bad things happen to good people? Is there any way to keep the Injection pump from failing completely. I just need it to last me long enough so I can save up the funds to purchase a new one, seeing as how they aren't cheap. Anyone got an extra pump laying around?

I'm trying to decide between an airdog 150 or the airdogII. I know the 150 will supply more fuel than I'll need, but they are set at 15psi and I would like to be able to adjust it. 15psi is good, but is it best? I would like to see 16 to 18. Any input would be great.
