I recently put 100 horse scheid lightning injectors in my truck with plans on upgrading the turbo sometime. I've narrowed it down to a couple and i'm looking for some advice on what you think from y'all. I do daily drive this truck along with the county fair sled pull and some trips down the drag strip. First one i'm looking at is http://fleeceperformance.com/turbochargers/cheetah-turbos/holset-cheetah-turbocharger.html i'm just afraid that its not gonna be enough flow on the exhaust side. The last one i'm looking at is built by a very reputable diesel shop in Indiana, the guy owns three 2nd gens, when I talked to him he recommended a 64/71/14 which is based off the s300 …

I was told by my mechanic that put my tie rod ends on that I need to replace the right side upper control. Found that a replacement control arm is around $345.00 (ouch). He is going to try to replace the bushings and see if might solve the problem. Anyone care to share any information or personal experience in this area? I think he said that he had the front end up and had someone mash the brakes and he could see movement in the control arm. Also, when you are driving and apply the brakes you can hear a noise and feel a bit of a jerk in the front end.

Had an pureflow VP- 100 Raptor start running erratic with fuel leaking from elect motor and motor running in spurts. Got shipped a warranty replacement. Installed it. Fuel pressure was 5 psi. Adjusted the relief up to 20. After few seconds pressure dropped back to 15. Let it run there for 10 minutes. Wait and see what happens. Then I cranked it up to 18. I thought the adj. screw was pretty deep compared to the last one. Should have trusted my instincts. Next morning on the way to town, I hear a pop. Blew up my oil filled guage. Installed a 0-100 test guage and found it pushing 65 PSI. Cranked it back to 18psi. Going to run the 100psi guage for a while and see if this thi…

My 2000 Ram gave codes P0606, P0121, & P0123 when temperature below about 20 DegF about three weeks ago and I knew P0606 was the death code for ECM. I had "dead pedal" after some surging but I could idle it fo 15 minutes and as the block warmed up it worked.I was somewhat surprised there is not a dealer ECM available for this truck in all of Canada and they are about $2,100 list for a REMAN that originates from Cummins. My only recourse was to buy a wrecker ECM but the Dodge expert mechanic assigned to software warned me the ECM VIN has to match the other modules or this leads to future problems with replacing other modules. He said he could not change VIN hims…

Bits and pieces of this are in 2 different places here so i decided to start a new thread on this. I'll list all prices and where i bought everything at the end. I'm doing this as cheap as i can, but the way i think will be most problem free. If you see something i did wrong or need to change let me know. I started with a used exhaust flange and vacuum cylinder. Took a few days to get the butterfly free and cleaned up but its working now. I had to buy a vacuum solenoid and i am using push to connect fittings and line for most of it. Reason for this is if i have to change to an air cylinder i wont have to change my plumbing. Amazon should have the rest of my p…

Trying to compare between an edge EZ, a smarty s03, and a quad but I’m not sure about it cause the guy doesn’t know what model it is because it came in a parts truck and he can’t find any switch in the cab. The box itself is sort of an odd shape but I don’t really know much about quad products to figure out what it is but based on the pics of the wiring he sent me I’m guessing it’s an xtz. Old model maybe?? Anyways truck will be a daily driver mostly stock with 50-75hp injectors and typical intake/exhaust mods at most. Just trying to figure out which one would best suit me. Leaning towards smarty but only because of the high idle..

  7. Is there any logical reason why I can't install a filter in the return fuel line? My fuel supply line goes from fuel tank to Airdog (95 or 100?) then directly to VP44 and very happy with the way AD is plumbed and mounted.

I was lurking around the interwebs this evening and found a guy selling a used 47re out of a 99 2500 with the V10. He claims it was rebuilt 3000 miles ago and with a torque converter and valve body swap would bolt up to the 24v, can anyone confirm that? I'm looking at have some transmission upgrades done in the coming year and can't really afford to have my truck sit for days on end while a shop does the work. So I was thinking about buying a used 47re and having it built then swap it out with whats in the truck now.

I apologize if there is already another thread for something similar to this, however I’m looking for some help in tuning my 99 5 speed. My truck has some modifications and I just don’t feel like it’s at it’s full potential with the pre loaded tunes. It’s got 60 hp injectors and a silver bullet 66 turbo, was hoping someone could give me some options or a list of what should make it run the best. Any help is appreciated.

I've just had a vac pump seal kit and a steering pump from Rockauto, arrived in the UK in 3 days so really good service from Rock BUT the vac pump seal kit which is a Dorman 904335 has the most useless main seal in it to the point I'm going to reuse the old one as it is better, good job I didn't remove it from its carrier, the old one has the oil scraper lines in the seal area to move oil away from the lip, the one in the dorman kit is just a sharp lip and some of the lip is malformed, barely see able but oil would find it. £34 and the main seal is going in the bin Mopar kit is not a lot more... my own stupid fault

Anyone know the bolt size for the vacuum pump body to case mount? Finally figured out what this major oil leak was. Thought it was the tappet cover all along but just noticed one of the mounting bolts for the vacuum pump to case mount was MIA ?‍♂️ not sure how after 290K miles a bolt randomly falls out

My 2001 dodge cummins has been testing me some lately I had an air dog 100 fuel pump on it and never could get pressure to settle in pump finally gave up so the guys at air dog replaced it no charge( which I think is awesome customer service by the way) any way put it on and ran great for about 150 miles then I noticed my pressure would jump up and down not staying consistent and truck did what I will call loped rpm would go up and down and pressure gauge jumps accordingly. Then i couldn't get my heater to blow out of vents just defrost so figured vacuum hose not hooked up also 4x4 sometime engages and sometimes not the 4x4 light does not light up. so messed with…

  13. I finally isolated oil leak , seal between vacum pump and power steering pump is leaking, ordered parts. Has anybody done this without removing vacum pump, just removing steering pump? Just curious if it is possible. I don't have a problem taking both off, just wondering if it is necessary. Thanks

Can a stripped out oil feed fitting on the top side of your turbo cause vacuum issues else where in the system, cruise controle, a/c vent/defrost vent switch not to work. Etc. ?

Finally got around to pulling my vacuum and power steering pumps in order to address an oil leak. A pre-purchase inspection showed a crack in the coupler between the two pumps causing the leak. The shop suggested replacing both the pumps as well as the coupler based on the assumption that the crack could have caused mis-alignment of internal shafts leading to wear, etc. Or there could have been some mis-alignment which caused the crack. The vacuum pump, which includes the coupler, runs $460 and the PS pump is $62, not exactly chump change. My local Napa can't source just the coupler.Looking for opinions. Is there validity to the potential damage to the pumps from a cr…

  17. My vacuum pump seal is leaking and I am going to just dish out the money for new pumps as opposed to just replacing the seals and having to tear into it again or take it to a shop again later. So I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on aftermarket or remanned pumps. I think the guy at my shop said Dodge charges over $900 for the little freakin pump lol, I have already seen some Cardone A1 pump for like $300 so I may go that route unless they suck. I am hoping to upgrade, if that's even possible, especially the steering pump since I know our trucks steering can be quite shotty as is. Also, I think I will do the fuel lines from the vp to the injectors, the inject…

I started my truck up as normal yesterday morning. When I drove off I noticed a brief hesitation and loudness in my exhaust. Just for a brief second or two!I tighten down all of bolts to my new intercooler boots and a couple of them needed to get snugged up.I scanned for codes but found none. I have a little leak coming from my canister but that was there before this happened.Where else can I look?Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Steve2000 6spd. stock 270k

Hey Gang...Just to skip hunting over the site I know you guys can spit out the place to get vacuum pump rebuild kit. Mine is finally starting to leak engine oil and getting the side of the block hosed with engine oil. Not enough to drip on the floor of the shop but it won't be long. So could you point to the information on the vacuum pump rebuild kit and any helpful hint would be great.
