Hey guys, new on this forum, came across it at dodge cummins forum. I have an 01 with 5" exhaust, air intake, 150 injectors, edge juice with hot unlock, and an Airdog 165 on its way. This truck came with an inline pump plus it still has factory one hooked up, ran about 23 lbs pressure. Few weeks ago, the inline pump went and disabled the factory pump too. I drove the truck for about 2.5 miles with 0 fuel pressure to get home, where I disconnected the aux pump and got factory one running. Truck ran fine then with 15 lbs as long as you kept the foot out of her. Couple days ago, truck started stalling when you would go from forward to reverse, then got worse and would stall …

  2. Hello! I need some help. I had a bad oil leak on my 2001 Dodge Ram 3500. I've changed the pushrod cover gasket and put everything back as it was. After that, as I was little to lazy to start it proper way with bleeding injector lines ... I just used ether. Vehicle started and I thought, it was ok ... and it is while it's idling. Problem starts when press the gas. Huge white smoke is comming out of the pipe. Seams to me, like it smells like a diesel ... so all I can think of ... timing got screwed up. Anybody has any idea how to set the timing in VP44? I just put back everything as it was ... but there was no smoke before the procedure. Thanks

Anyone have an aftermarket supplier of the lines that connect to the side of the HE (coolant lines/metal tubes)? I am going to keep the HE in place but want to replace these lines as they are 21 years old and starting to leak. Ideas? Bruce

  4. Hi Everyone, I've got an 01 Drive-train that's doing a weird thing. First 5 or so seconds, the truck seems to idles a little high, and a little rough. Then it smooths out and sounds like its running fine, but it has to Tach reading. Completely drops to zero, this is consistent. Every time you shut the truck off and restart it, it does this. The tach even reads, while it does read, seemingly accurate. What else has me confused is when I plug the code reader in and go for a drive looking at live data, it also seems to report proper RPM. I did a cluster test and it didn't seem to have any issues, so I don't think it's a short with the gauge, the Ca…

My 01 surges with the cruise on at any highway speed. If I take the cruise off and hold my foot in one spot and it will hold speed and boost. With the cruise on it is back and forth between 11-17 psi. Any suggestions?

So I was on here a little while back on the topic of swapping a 98.5 motor in an 02 truck and with all the headache surrounding it i had found a good deal on an 01 with low miles and was just curious if it just needed a map sensor adapter to work and if they were a direct swap unlike the older engines with the crank sensor

What does it take to swap a 01-02 engine into a 98.5

  9. My 2001 will not start, starter wont click, lights will not even come on. Batteries have a sufficient charge but everything electronic seems to be completely dead. I dont even get the clicking when you open the door and the batteries are in need of a charge. Installed a new alternator last month and my Optimas are in great shape. I disconnected both negative terminals to see if anything would reset but it did not do anything. Started great and ran fine last night...:banghead: I know it is in need of a bath really bad and I have been driving through a heck of a mud hole getting to and from work...perhaps something came loose??? Any help is appreciated! - - - Up…

  10. Hello, I just joined this site after my searching has brought me here several times. I’ve read a few of the write ups by mopar1973man. I decided I could really benefit and hopefully contribute to the wealth of knowledge here! I have had this 01’ 24 valve since 08’ she’s been worked hard and now the 2nd vp44 has bit the dust at 250k miles. I have a 93’ 12 valve engine(ve pump) with only 78k miles just begging to go to work. It has 3k gov. spring, fuel pin/afc mods, 5x.012 injectors, and he351 turbo. The 01’ is an auto, 47RE ATS stage 5. So I’ve been reading up on the sensors, communications, between the ecm, pcm trying to figure out the logistics of this swap. I’ve done s…

First, I had the diode installed to the IAT sensor. Did this mod since it first came out. Had no problems with it until recently. The code just started the past couple of months. In the back of my mind I kept thinking it was related to the morning cold. Finally decided it was time to get rid of the engine code light from reappearing. Long story short, the wiring harness was in good shape. Figured the easiest way to see where the problem was to put it back to stock. Been fine since. Amazing that a 10 cent part can change everything!

Also posted on CF for exposure. So my truck started acting up the other day... Driving at around 80kph I started to feel a light surging, it got progressively worse and then threw a CEL and I had significant dead pedal issues. I limped it home and checked codes. At that time it gave me p0122 and p0500. I cleared them and went for another drive. Same issues, but all it had was the p0122 code this time. I did an apps recalibration and the problem persists. Sometimes the code shows up in both the ecm and pcm sometimes just the ecm. The 0500 code has not returned. So I put on a used apps from a truck that was wrecked but running fine before... same issues, same code. I ran thr…

  13. Hello everyone. I'm on my third APPS in less than a year in my 2000 2500. Once replaced, code 0122 is gone, but I then get 1693. The APPS have lasted anywhere from three months, to three days, to even six hours. Then, the surging at around 50-55mph(after OD kicks in, if I'm not gettin on it)starts again. It will even do it with no code 0122 or check engine light. I have zero experience in how ECM and PCM codes work. If the 1693 isn't cleared after replacement, will it still think there is a problem, and could that be causing this screwy, vicious circle?

I have an 02 24v 6 speed, just did injection pump. Everything is good there. Cracked injectors got fuel to them, closed 3 off truck fired up. Took it for a test drive n everything was great, brought it back to the house, shut it off waited 3 mins and fired it back up nps at all. Shut it off cleaned up tools etc. Went to start it and now it won't start. Lots of fuel to injectors, but keeps saying "no bus" on instrument cluster. My super chips programmer can't even connect to it. Just cranks and cranks but no fire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  15. 02 5.9 QC dually 6 speed. 200k. Just what it sounds like. I noticed power steering fluid on my floor matt, appears to be dripping off of my brake push rod. Issue is intermittent, does not leak constantly. I know the brake power assist is by the power steering pump. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and how difficult is it to repair or get the brake booster thing out of there. Is it just a seal to be replaced? or do I need to replace the brake booster assy? Do I need to crack all brake lines & remove the master cyl? Thanks!

  16. I've been driving my 02 3500 6speed dually for a year and I have yet to appreciate these stupid flip up mirrors. Am I the only one who feels this way? Visibility just blows regardless of flipped up for towing or tucked down in granny mode. I'm tempted to take them off and put the old school mirrors on. Has anyone tried modifying these mirrors? Thanks!

The truck starts up good then it starts to have what sounds like a miss and idles real rough and runs rough under 2k rpm (cold or hot). Any time I let off to shift it runs rough. Have had a Po122 that came and then went off the next morning. Fuel pressure stays around 16-17. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 02 3500 HO, 210k, 75hp stick( new from DAP), Fass 150, Diablo Power Puck. Have guages.

Hi there,,,I'm a newbie, retired GM technician and frustrated Dodge lover. Recently I did the "easy" conversion from auto 47RE to a brand new NV4500 with upgraded Southbend clutch. My truck is a 2002 2500 4X4 SRW 24V with 110K miles,FASS150,RV275 injectors,Fleece Cheetah turbo,Banks air and intake. The conversion went relatively smooth besides some minor electrical glitches. I used all new hard parts along with a new PCM for a manual truck with my VIN programmed to it and Smarty programmed the ECM. It might be relevant to say that I had replaced my APPS unit ($Mopar) several months prior to doing the conversion because of failure codes,no pedal issues. Now,,,,,The conversi…

  19. I recently bought a 02 Dodge 2500 4wd auto, bone stock w/ 58,000 miles. I was driving it today and it won't stay in overdrive. About 55-60 mph or 1500-1700 rpm seems to be the worst about kicking in an out. I was on flat roads maintaining a steady speed. I'm new to auto transmissions behind a Cummins but this don't seem right.Help or suggestions appreciated.

I swapped a 02 Cummins into my F250. Mods are, fummins twin turbo kit, 125 DDP injectors, new springs, and arp studs. Also new VP 44 SO pump. Tunning is by quadzilla, but no custom tunes yet. The motor came out of a manual transmission truck, so I sent the ECM off to be reprogrammed for an automatic because of a massive lope. When I got it back, the lope was cured and it idle ok. When I drive the truck, it will only get to 1850 RPM and no farther. Acts like it has a governor on it. I purchased an automatic apps sensor and did the relearn on it and no help. Any suggestions???
