Hello every one. I'm new to this sit and have a 2000 quad cab 2500 4x4 8ft bed, 24v cummins whit automatic transmission I thing it's 4 shifter (sorry i'm new whit this kind of transmission)** & all stock except lift pump which is last week went out and I change it to DRRP02 FASS 110 GPH,other than that untouched truck, anyway, I've to get the RPM over 2k or 22k till shift to the upper and only on the highway goes to 4th and O/D otherwise just only 2 shift. is it normal? Hey, guys! I'm 17 years old and getting ready to start driving a truck to local farmers markets and have a bit of a problem. Me and my dad are the proud owners of a 98 Dodge Ram 3500 refrigerated box truck. It has the Cummins 24valve and an auto tranny. The problem is that the transmission doesn't shift into overdrive properly. It has several lights that come on in the dash like the trans temp light, the airbag light, the o/d off light and some others that I cant remember. Funny thing is, sometimes when we're sitting at a stoplight ect, all the lights in the dash go out, and the trans shifts fine! The company that had the truck before us put another used tranny in it, …

They are convenient at times, but while towing I find myself under throttling to keep it from kicking down a gear. I like to lug a bit, but give it a little more pedal and verooooom she kicks into a higher gear. Since Trans swaps are expensive and time consuming. Is there any kind of mod that can be done to go through the gears manually? I don't even know what wide open throttle is. If I go that far it will go into a lower gear and rev up like crazy.

Comments on various Dodge/Cummins web-pages were all over the place when the subject of differential oils comes up. Anything from 75w-90 to 80w-140 were suggested for the Dana 80 regardless of Dodge's recommendations. Then I found this study which looks like it was at least sponsored by if not conducted by Amsoil: http://www.syntheticwarehouse.com/brochures/g2457_gearlube_study.pdf If you scroll down on the chart to page 19 you'll see who the winner was (spoiler alert...it's Amsoil). I've always stuck to an 80w-90 except when we were full time RV'ing. Looking at that chart I'm wondering if a 75w-90 full synthetic wouldn't work just as well if not better. Anyone?

So I came across a deal on a 90 gallon L shaped auxilary fuel tank to mount in the bed of the truck. It's used but still good. I have never had one nor mounted one in a truck. I was wondering if someone on here has had one and mounted it. Any tips on how to do so? Also, if you have one are you gravity feeding it to the main tank or did you install an inline fuel pump? I have a small inline pump on the shelf and was thinking about using it with this tank to fill the main tank with a flip of a switch. Thoughts?? I'll be getting the tank sometime over the weekend so I'll post up pics once I have it. Thanks for any input.

OK, my side cover is leaking about a quart a day. Have new gasket set. Also have a used VP44HO to put in(Thanks Ghostman). Have big line kit from stock filter with FP sender for my Quad & gear puller(Thanks Jkidd).Going to pull VP, all lines, filter canister & frrp. Then, I am going to pull the ECM & possibly space it out or at least plan it out for the future. Then, do the leaky side cover gasket.I will pull apart the FRRP & reseal it while i have it out. I also have a NAPA 1/2" 50 micron filter to put in before the FRRP.Here's my questions:1. I do not have the barring tool, so is there a redneck way for breaking the IP gear nut loose & torqui…

Is there a axle type identifier on the Dana axles? I need to order parts and want to know what I have. Not listed on my original sales invoice.

Ok, I'm changing axle seals on my 00 2500 and run into a problem I've not found anywhere else. The next step is to remove the carrier. The passenger outer axle is out as is the driver axle. The diff cover is off and the cad cover is off. The remaining passenger intermediate shaft is slid all the way to the drivener side as it should be. It is making contact with a pin in the center of the carrier so it literally can't move further. All that is left is to remove the shift nut from the cad housing and remove the passenger inner shaft. Youtube shows this as an easy process. On my truck, there isn't enough room for the shift nut to come out. It looks like …

So getting the driver side axle u joint done today. I did the passenger side about 6 months ago and everything went fine. So here’s where I need help. I watched a few videos and read a few articles on the driver side, and some people have said that if it’s 4wd you have to lock it in 4 so that something doesn’t drop in the diff when you pull the axle shaft? Is there any truth to this or can I just do it the same as the passenger side? Also does anyone seem to have a part number for the driver side u joint? Autozone gave me too small of one already which I remember they did last time so I had to bring in my old one to compare. Today I don’t have another Vehicle to go back i…

I'm wondering what yr and models came with Dana 60/70/80 that are a direct swap into my truck. 98.5 2500. I have RWABS only. My goal is to find a wrecked ram that has 4.10 ratio, and just take the axles off of it instead of going through a shop to regear my truck. Did gassers come with the same axles? And what years. Can I tell axle ratio by looking at the vin? Or do I need to call dealer? Thanks

I have a 99 2500 4x4 that has had a dead pedal and high idle issue, which seems to get worse when the engine is hot. No codes are presented and the only way to get the truck running again is too shut it off and remove the 20 amp engine control fuse from the Electrical Control Center behind the drivers side battery. When it begins doing it it may happen five or six times within an eight or nine mile drive. Anyone have similar problem or ideas for a resolution. Thanks very much

So if you are familiar with the "whipping the dead horse" thread then you are up to speed on my truck. Recap; new fass UNO five oh- new vp 44- new rv 275- new heavy duty studs- new edge cys w/ juice- adjusted valves- new oil. So how high should my egt be at start up? And then when it's wArm?How accurate is the engine temp on edge? My fuel pressure rides at 16.5 and doesn't go below 15 at wot. Is that ok?My turbo has a hard pipe and I couldn't put elbo on from edge, is that an issue?the banjo bolt from edge wouldn't jive with my fass fitting at vp so should I get a fitting that works? As far as I can tell it just is a low fuel pressure warning? On the edge you can adjust bo…

Well I figured on retiring my old grand Cherokee because it burns so much oil and the rear bushings are shot. So that left my truck or my 1971 lincoln to drive, since the car is mint, that leaves the truck. Still don't have the ECM done but I can do all the gauges myself with my CCD bus done. Truck runs good even with stock injectors my transmission is going to hate me. I blew the exhaust apart and muffler is trashed from dragging. I replaced the AC compressor, lines, accumulator, flush vac and fill works great now. I replaced the starter twice now. Sometimes things were screeching and squeaking, thought it was alternator s…

Well I yanked my RV275's back out. They started to misfire at idle again. Looking them over and the nozzle where only lightly sooty and the nozzle holes were very visible even to the naked eye. So I already talked to a shop in Lewiston, Idaho about retuning hem back to pop pressure. Like I told him I found injector with a wore shim and I'm pretty sure this injector is my problem. So I'll report back what I find out when I get them bench tested.
