So I've come to the almighty moparman forums seeking help on an unusual issue I'm having. My truck is heavily modified by the previous owner and I'm constantly having to fix one thing or another and chase things. So I have 2 issues now 1 of which I believe I know the issue but don't know a good fix. First issue is I get trans limp mode and a P1689 with no buss on the CCD when turning on the HVAC blower at any speed. Once turned off it goes back to normal. I have taken the ground off for the HVAC controls and the no buss issue also happens without the blower motor running only in face vents or floor vents position. Hello and thank you in advance for any help in this matter. I have a 99 2500 Ram 4wd At SLT Laramie 24v my vp44 died so I bought a complete 02 motor with a thrown rod. I put put on my 99 motor the vp44, complete harness and sensors all of them from new motor , ecm , and the fuel filter can ( newer ones nicer) pulled the cam gear off 99 and installed the 02 cam gear with the grid ring , I left the crank sensor in the hole in block ( no plug for it on new harness of course ) im still using my 99 pcm ,my tach works everything actually seems to working fine. So from my research I've done so far, the 1693 code is just a code thrown, letting you know that there is a code present on one of the other computers right? The 0500 code is a speed sensor and ABS issue, short version, the pcm(?) can't tell why or thinks that front and rear wheels are spinning at different speeds. The CEL only shows up when my key is turned on and the WTS light is on. Once the engine is running, the CEL is not back lit and the truck seems to run fine. Occasionally, I'll have first gear run a little longer then it seems it should, and I have a weird lock up thing happen in between 3rd lock up and 4th. I can expand on those if need be. Other poss…

Sister graduated yesterday and somehow word is out that I know how to play with diesels and a guy hit me up with his 24V saying he wants to give it a tune up. This means set his valves (apparently has never been done, ever, after 160k miles) and check over some other things. I imagine being a 24V I should clean his map sensor and what else is there to check on those things? Now the thing is he went from 18 when new and has dwindled down to 12, I would think if his valves and sensors were off/dirty it would constitute the drop but what other things is there that would cause this? my truck hesitates or shudders from 1800 to 2200. FP 20 idle 13 wot. is seams to only do it if the edge is above lv 0. if you let off to idle it idles ruff almost like a lope if you rev it up it gos away. its diving me nuts need help!

Hello, first post on here hoping I can figure out my issues with my 98 24v cummins, occasionally my truck upon start up with stick in either 2 or 3rd gear not sure which one upon putting it in drive, truck will not upshift or downshift until I put it in park turn it off then restart the truck then it will be fine start first gear shift through all the gears and go into overdrive, I pulled 2 codes scanning it with my tuner, P0753, P0748 AND P0743 this problem comes and goes but it always resolved with turning the truck off and restarting making me lean towards and electrical program rather than hardware issue, if anyone can help fix this greatly appreciated!!

After everything I have read on the internet I understood that the PCM off my truck had to match not only the make, model, transmission etc but also numbers mine being P56046355. I was sold a PCM by a gentleman who swore up and down that a 2002 would work on my truck. It doesn't work and now I need some help purchasing a PCM. Can this PCM be programmed to fit my truck? Is this gentleman correct when he says he asked his friend who knows all there is to know about Dodge, cummings etc? Has problems when it's heated up or sometimes out of no where throttle body sensor goes to zero voltage randomly but then picks back up after hitting the gas a couple times also shuts off driving down the road when it's warmed up but starts back up right away lift pump is new so are the lines and the tps sensor is new also.I checked the fuel pressure and it's stays the same when driving. The rpms start jumping from 0 back to how much rpms you have back down to 0 then the truck dies but starts back up but then starts happening again

Hi folks I own a 1998.5 with Cummins 5.9L 24V Ram 2500. Automatic. 4x4. I got under the truck to try and ID the tranny. I learned where stamped ID numbers were located. I can read 10PK522195, I think. Hard to read. I would need to get a wire brush and some break clean to better read it. Does my truck likely have the 47RE tranny? I see a good used one for sale locally. Seems like a good price. Thinking of picking up for a spare. Mine is at 261,000 KM currently. No problems. Just planning to keep the truck long term. Could store the tranny easily. Thanks, Keith

Hello,My 1998.5 24v would not start after a short trip to UPS. Had the truck towed to my shop. Sat for a few days until I could get a new fuel filter and water seperator for the FASS fuel pump, installed and primed,fired right up. Died after a 15 mile trip home.Sat for a few hours until I could get a 3/4 wrench to prime again. Got it started and drove 3 miles to my home. I had a hot rod injector pump that I really did not like so I figured it was time to replace. Changed pump,fresh injectors, no start.Read codes. I've been having trouble with my 98.5 2500 for sometime now. I go to start the truck and it "lopes" about 10-12 times and dies. I have no throttle response when pressing the pedal while it does this. I have replaced vp44, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor, throttle position sensor, grid heater relay, I have newer batteries, also cleaned the grounds really good in the batteries as they had a little bit of corrosion on them. When I turn the switch on it takes a couple of seconds for the WTS light to come on, when it comes on i can hear what I believe is the fuel pump priming. WTS goes off and I start it and it does the 10-12 "lopes" and dies. Any help or …

My truck on longer journeys usually has my trailer hooked up and I lock out OD, everything has been fine also I tend to lockout OD around here also as it means the convertor is locked for much longer so revs down and MPG up, it can trundle along just over our lowest built up area speed limit of 30 just nice, pretty flat here. Ive Done the WT mod on my truck, replaced every battery cable and installed new terminals. Im still getting surging at 45-70 mph. How do I test the AC noise coming off my alternator? I believe the alternator could be the problem as its nearly 2 years old and Idk what the shop that installed it got it from. Ive also cleaned every ground i could find on it. Is there anything else I should check?

Ive done the Wiring Mod and that cured my surging issue for 6months. 3months ago I had to park the truck since the HydroBooster went out and ive had bad experiences with part store boosters. So I ordered one from mopar that took forever. I finally got it going again today and it started surging immediately I tried doing a apps reset with no luck. I went ahead and ordered all new cables, terminal ends, and batteries to try to remedy it. Is there anything else I should try while im at it?

Hey all, I have been a member of the forum for years but have slowly moved away from it over the years. I am back now and starting to toy with my truck again. Wanted to make a quick post for guys who have either swapped/ purchased there truck with a Auto to Manual swap. I did mine 2 years ago and have been running flawlessly since then. Now to the point of this post. I never swapped my ECM+PCM during the swap because i never had any issues. So why swap the computers if you don't have to right?
