To all; I have been having trouble with my 2000 2nd Gen, The truck was shifting strangely, I was getting what I thought was "dead pedal". I perused the board for answers to others questions/posts. I could not get more than the 1693 code from the odometer readout...no matter how many times I did it...sorry Michael, I just couldn't get it!So far I have done the following, and the problem comes and goes.1, I removed and cleaned ALL the grounds in the system, and the battery leads, and the fuse/relay box leads2, I have replaced the Carter pump with a Fass replacement pump, just because and I have 153000 on the truck3, I have replaced the APPS with one from Timbo. 4, Today I w…

UPDATE! - August 14, 2007 - BTU values of fuels and chemicals. http://mopar1973man.servehttp.com/pics/btu's%20values.jpg So is it possible that any kind of cetane booster / injection cleaner containing these chemical can IMPROVE you performance? It's not possible. They have considerable reduction in BTU value and extremely low flash points like gasoline. Please take the time time and look up you favorite additive in my MSDS listing. Also for those of you that are switch to BIO Diesel / Ethanol fuels (Gasser). Take notice that both fuel product less power compared to the Dino version. So it will reduce your fuel mileage some... The higher the BTU value the higher HP/TQ…

For 2000-2002 Year Trucks (For Owners Without Code Readers) Insert your ignition key. Turn it to the OFF position. Now turn it ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON in less than 5 seconds. Leave it in the on position. In the odometer display it should start to display codes. It starts with P PCU errors. This is to notify you that the error codes are coming. They would show up as Pnnnn. All error codes are listed in 4 digits. Write down all Pnnnn error codes that are displayed. P Done will notify that P PCU error code list is done. Now we display P ECU errors. This is to notify you that the error codes are coming. They would show up as Pnnnn. All error codes are listed in 4…

So after I rebuilt my t case I rebuilt my 5600.....Whew what a job but its back together but Im having trouble finding the correct way to measure endplay on main shaft and counter shaft etc. Its all together minus the middle cover inside the bell housing. and I have new shim packs for both shafts. I might have went to far and might need to remove the tail housing to obtain correct measurement... Can anyone shed light on this method. I know what needs to happen, just not sure how to go about it lol. And I know specs are .002-.006 endplay. Thanks.

SO the other day I was going home from work, it was snowing pretty bad and the roads were really slick and crappy so I popped the ole girl in 4x4 just for added reassurance. On my commute I have a nice 90* turn that is completely blind till about half way through the turn. Well I get to that half way part, and this grey toyota carolla was spinning and fishtailing all over the place out of control, SO I did what any reasonable 23 year old in a big 4x4 cummins would do and drove right into the front yard of some guy who lives on that corner, I drove in, drove out and kept on my way. Ran over a few rocks and such but all was good, So I thoight. I got about another 1/2 mi…

I have a 99 3500 mostly stock and im not to sure what this noise is or why its this loud when i turn the key on. It seems like something with the lift pump but it stays on for awhile and is very noticable in the cab then turns off. The trucks start fine and i have a crappy electric fuel pressure gauge and when it makes that noise its at atleast 25# and then i start it and it stays right around 24-25#. I have a few videos showing the noise and the gauge but none of the noise right when i turn the key forward without bumping. It sometimes comes on for a few seconds but lately has been coming on for the full 20- 25 second cycle without bumping the starter. Can you tell me if…

So I'm installing a new exhaust manifold (you'd be surprised how many issues you can run into doing this simple job) and this is what I find. Is this enough oil for me to be concerned?

I got to say Thank You to @dripley ... He's taught me something today which I've got to pass along to all you. The 2002 Dodge Ram truck have only a 1 wire oil pressure sensor. The wiring diagram is incorrect for the 2002 trucks and does NOT have the Orange or the Black/Light Blue wires. Now looking at the 2001 and 2000 model years are 3 wire oil pressure sensors. I've even gone down to my truck and checked and sure enough only one wire the black/light grey.

Having a problem my 01 dodge. It's started awhile back with what seems like a miss at idle after driving. It doesn't effect performance at all. Takes fuel fine just has rough idle. Have changed fuel filter. But the other day after driving I shut it off went to start it back and it would start then die. Lift pump cycles when keys turned on and also runs when bumping starter. Gauge shows 25psi when running but won't start. I let it set for awhile and it started right up and runs fine. This truck is basically stock except for Diablo power puck. Don't know where to start. No CEL. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 98.5 4x4 5 speed that is box stock truck with 200k miles and was wondering what the max boost would be if I put a boost fooler and a boost elbow or just capped of the waste gate line. I am not looking to make goobs of power but wondered if I will see any power increase or if it will hurt my engine in any way . From what I learned many years ago as a owner operator the more air with the same fuel rate would drop the EGTs. I have installed a full set of gauges and will be ordering a Fass DDRP in a week or so. I can get a max of 20 PSI at wot before it defuels or opens the waste gate or both and if there is any more power to be had I would to be able to use it if ne…

Hey guys, So the truck will let out huge cloud if sitting for a few days. Clears up to just a little haze right away. Idle for a min then driveaway smokes till the truck is warm. Then gone and cant make it smoke and runs to what I think is perfect. If ran everyday the first startup puff of smoke is small but still smokes till up to temp. I have ran a bottle cleaner with little inprovement. Have been reading for awhile on line now with out any great success. Thinking hoping only injectors cause I wouldnt mind upgrading anyway. Anyone have this same problem.

So I have finally got my truck up and running after an extensive amount of maintenance that needed to be completed as the previous owner neglected the heck out of this poor girl. While everything was being worked on I went ahead and did the full W-T wiring modification and the alternator PCM protection as well that @Mopar1973Man has been so awesome at spreading around to everyone. I did not check the AC volts prior to the maintenance and W-T mod. I went ahead and took a video of my results while the truck was running, unless i'm doing something wrong or have the incorrect setting my alternator is beyond BAD reading in at 1.04 AC volts which hopefully is the sm…

I went camping this weekend and most of the 5 hour drive was fine. About halfway there at about 65 mph it felt like I let my foot of the pedal. It didn't die but I had to push in the clutch and rev it a few times before it came back. It happened several more times on the trip. On the way home I set my programmer back to stock and it didn't seem to do it as much (coincidence ?). Could it be the TPS or whatever its called on a dodge? Any input would be great.

Had an interesting phone conversation with the owner of TST products today about the so vp44 fuel pump. He was a Cummins employee and has worked on and has had access to testing the vp44 and prior fuel pumps. He said that the high pressure side of the internal vane pump produces around 300 psi at 2200 rpm engine speed, and that the actual injection is done by a piston that creates the high pressure pulse and also directs it to the correct injector. This piston not only pushes the fuel to the injector but also rotates or spins to line up with the correct injector port in the VP44. He said that many of the pump failures are attributed to the piston ceasing from lack of …

I'm not to sure where to place this post as it deals with a company which many of us have dealt with in the past. I've attached my Google review of Auto Computer Specialist (ACS) below as I feel our community needs to know about how terrible the customer service is with these people. I'm not sure if there was a recent change in ownership or management but it has been beyond childish. To the point they are claiming via google reviews I was never a customer and must be mistaken. See attached photos, I have also posted in my original review. All I wanted to do was speak with the owners about the professionalism of Dominic who is the front desk person at ACS. If …

I'm staring to feel a vibration from the differential when starting from a dead stop, especially when turning a corner, thinking my Trac-Loc is done, anyone ever R&R that carrier? I figure since there's no problem in the ring gear/pinion gear wear pattern, I should be able the replace those clutches with just pulling the axles (3500) non-weight bearing on the axles, just make sure I put back any shims that might be under the carrier bolts. Don't think I would have to even mess with pinion. Any thoughts? If I remember right when both wheels are off the ground, when a wheel is rotated both wheels should spin in same direction, right?
