    Wondering where the best place is to purchase a quality remanufactured VP44 injection pump. I have a 2000 Dodge, 5 speed, 4 inch exhaust. Everything else is stock. Appreciate any suggestions.

    Does anyone have any experience with these guys or their turbos? https://instaspoolperformance.bigcartel.com/history-of-savage-fabrication I know the Borg stuff is newer technology, but I really REALLY like these guys’ story. They seem to care a lot about their craft and the product they build for their customers. I might be oversimplifying it, but it looks like he just remastered the he351cw and offers it as a true drop in replacement for the HX35.

    trying to up my trans knowledge and figure out what effect different spring rates have on 2nd gear servo operation. There a 3 holes in the front servo bore. im assuming the oil comes in through the top hole and pushes down on the top of the piston pushing against spring tension causing the center pin to push down on the band strut and causing the band to tighten. question is where does the oil come from? where does it go? from there what causes the servo to release tension and what are the 2 bottom holes for? I’m assuming a stiffer spring would cause a reduction in pressure on the servo center pin… or does a sprin…

    I recently installed an Airdog lift pump (Airdog II 4G DF-100) and since then I’ve experienced varying crank times. Prior to the install, the truck would turn over for maybe 0.5 second before firing right up, every time, without fail. And it feels like half a second is generous on the long side. Since the install, crank times vary between the 0.5sec up to 2 seconds. The engine seems to run a bit smoother since the install and no indication of a misfire. The most noticeable impact of the install is varying cranking times. From what I’ve read the symptoms could be due to worn injectors or poor fuel pressure but would love to hear the collective thoughts of the cre…

    I noticed downloaded Quadzilla tunes are in json format. Is there a schema for key value pairs available to decipher the tunes? I’m new to tuning and Just trying to learn a bit more about how this all works. The data doesn’t read intuitively, like {“max valet power mode”:”30”}. Instead all values are coded, like {“135”:”144”, “15”:”6”}

    I’ve noticed a lot of people have issues with getting IQuad to recognize an imported tune on Apple devices. I had the same issue and never found the pinned topic in the tunes section that discussed importing tunes. I was able to figure it out this evening and here’s how I did it. After purchasing a tune, click download in the browser on the Mopar1973Man order confirmation page. The file should now show up in your files folder. (Images are blurred because I held down on the iCloud to highlight them). If you can’t find your files icon, sipe all the way left and search for files. The icon looks like this. From there, t…

    Im having heck trying to find straight axle parts. Is there something else you call a straight axle?

  10. Last night when leaving my son's football game, anytime I got over 45 mph it would do the TC lock/unlock. I also smelled a weird electronics smell at different times on the drive. Because of what I learned from this site I knew what to check first. This morning I checked the AC noise from the Alternator and it was .1 VAC I got it couple of years ago from NAPA so I pull it off and and head to my local NAPA. Unfortunately I couldn't find my receipt so another $170 later I am on my way back home. After installing the new alternator I check the AC and it is reading .0314 VAC (alternator post to negative post on battery). Much more gooder! I take…

    I have been trying to chase down what would be causing my high egts. At first I bought into my turbo was not the right size, the tuning on quadzilla could off, and bit the bullet after all that and got rpms in the range they “should be” with no luck still. So I watched a video of MM and noticed the engine load was 17-19% while driving 65mph. My engine load at idle in neutral or park is 20-22%. In drive not moving 26%. Driving at 65mph on flat ground little to no wind 25-30% engine load=warmer egt’s. Now if I’m going slightly down hill and my engine load is 23% or lower my egts mimic the egts in the video I watched. I have a few questions. What are some possible causes of …

    have had my truck a few months. It worked well for about 1000 miles and has been a nightmare ever since. without getting into all the details of all the parts I've replaced and the ridiculous number of times and ways it's left me stranded in about 3500 miles, I'll just focus on the transmission issues here: it started gradually shifting worse and worse. Initially it seemed to mostly be 3rd gear, but eventually, over the course of a couple weeks, it was all the gears. Grinds the worst and the most consistently going into 3rd but now grinds in all the gears randomly, and the shifting in general is very hard. Can't get it into reverse without putting it into se…

    From reading it seems normal idle for our trucks in park is 800-850. Mine idles smooth at 750, and I’m pretty sure it always has. Been paying closer attention to the truck as I try to figure out this low boost issue and some other little things. Truck starts right up, 1/2 a crank at 20F this morning. My concern is the Nations 180 amp alternator. Just making sure this isn’t effecting performance on that. Is 750 in the acceptable range? That’s 750, no ac. Auto trans in park. High idle kicks in as it should.

  14. Hey all, sadly back again Noticed a little bit of oil was coming out around that gasket on the intake horn and the bolt there. Backstory, previous turbos I had a year ago ended up both going (P/O had a homemade budget compound setup). I swapped setups with a guy and the turbos no **** blew and were gushing oil when they went on his truck. I had a haze at idle and told him I didn't know condition etc and he still wanted them for the piping at the least. I'm assuming there was a good amount of oil in my intake system (intercooler etc). Is it possibly it's finally making it's way up? I have a brand new GT turbo with maybe 2k miles on it. …

    Hey Fellas, 02 cummins 3500 dually 6 speed Intermittent dead pedal. Sometimes while driving it sputters bit or it doesn't accelerate, does not stall out, it's just kind of runs flat and pedal does not respond as it should. Intermittent. No rhyme or reason. Some days it's fine, other days seems like it only happens for the first 15 minutes after starting when the truck is cold. It kind of feels like when my APPS failed a few years ago. Could my issue be as simple as resetting the APPS? Have not tried that yet. More info: Current mileage: 250,000 Installed new timbo APPS 2018 @ 226,000 miles I checke…

  16. Hey everyone, I have been playing with my 47re with my pacbrake. I'm starting to wonder what is a good healthy line pressure when engine braking. Right now I'm seeing 80-85psi at idle in drive, and driving down the road were about 110 with my foot out of the throttle. In the throttle I'm seeing about 125psi. When I'm engine braking I see about 115psi going from 2,000 to 1,250rpm. When I'm downshifting and in 3rd, I can move it to M2 and it will downshift at 32.5mph 1,250rpm. I have a lower stall torque converter and it seems to brake hard even on second. I was looking to see having the TC lock up when downsh…

  17. My current Heat exchanger is a little crispy after the 20 years of service and a few years around some road salt. I've seen several listings on Heat exchangers varying in prices from ~$800 dollars to as low as ~$200 dollars and curious if anyone has found a difference between them or has had issues with the different options out there. Trying to save penny's where I can without risking the reliability of the truck. Eventually I also do plan on adding an additional cooler in the loop but curious if size of the cooler will add (if such a thing) too much restriction. And lastly, currently I have my Trans Temp sensor located on the output of the trans, but I…

  18. Hello, I have a late 1999 24 valve sport model appears to be 4 wheel abs, just extra information. Have edge comp, S&B cold air intake, 5 inch turbo back straight pipe, and RV injectors. Rest of truck is stock. Anyway, I am just curious as to if it is normal for the stock temp gauge on the dash to be at 140*F on a cold engine in the summer. Sits for about a week then drive it off and on this summer 2022, temps reaching high 90*F. But yeah, when I go to use the truck after starting the temp gauge is already reading 140*F. I know that is not normal but I just would like a 2nd opinion. I also do have the Mopar1973Man High Idle/Eco Switch installed. It is …

  19. Ive been off the site for a while due to so many circumstances over the last 3 years as im sure so many of us have. Im hoping some of the older knowledge is still floating around because i may need some help or if nothing else i can document the story a little bit here Back in 2017 i had the transmission rebuilt for the first time by a good friend at a reputable shop with plenty of experience. He did a great job. What was done then- (cause of failure was TC welding itself together and subsequently toasting the rest of the unit while i trying to get it home) billet triple disc, shift kit, GM sensor and governor, replaced one drum (with a good used o…

    Just did the CAT filter replacement on my fass titanium pump.... called fass tech to double check which filter goes where since I couldn't find the factory instalation directions (had crappy service so couldn't look up online). They told me that the fuel filter goes on the side with two lines and the h20 separator goes on the single line side. Well guess what, that's backwards. I got home and found my paper printed directions. I only drove like 10 miles with the filters backwards.... did I cause any damage? Furthermore, why in the literal hell would anyone at fass tell me incorrect information?
