Check this one out. Looks like it would be cheaper than 2 stroke and lube even better than XDP. http://opti-lube.com/diesel-fuel-improver/xl-diesel-fuel-improver/diesel-fuel-improver-xl.html http://opti-lube.com/downloads/intertektesting.pdf

I've also got a job for a 2001 Dodge truck by a local rancher that has just had a starter fire. When I inspected the truck tonight the truck does indeed still start and run but watching closely I started see white smoke from the starter again. After crawling on my back and looking up there is something damage in the brush plate and shorted out. Which then allowed it to ignite the oil and fuel slobbered on the engine. There is a few 3rd party wires that are burnt but nothing system critical. So when I get back down to doing the job I'll take my camera along and pop some pictures. Safety sake I left the truck with the batteries disconnected till I get back.

Ok... I've followed most of the steps (yes only most) but I get to Number 8 on this diagnostic tool and I get 44.2k ohms.... a bit more than the 5 or less suggested value. Where is the best place to purchase a replacement or have mine rebuilt?? Thanks, Tim http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/175-p0336-crankshaft-position-sensor-signal 8. Ensure CKP sensor connector and ECM connector are still disconnected. Using ohmmeter, checkresistance between ground and terminal "C" (Gray wire) on CKP sensor connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace ECM. Perform TEST VER-5A . If resistance is less than …

So this is my first diesel. I've had it about a year and am getting to know it pretty good, but one thing I've always wondered about is my second overdrive's effectiveness with my high gearing. I've got a Unitrax/Gear Vendor/Laycox divorced overdrive with an auto and 3.55 rear end gears. It all came with the truck when I bought it. I know that when I'm driving in double overdrive it seems to run fine and smooth, but it also runs at pretty low rpm. I think around 1500 at 70. I'm generally on relatively flat freeways, so it doesn't seem to stress the drive train, but I wanted to get any input you guys have on this. Is it hard on the truck? A good thing? It's really nice t…

I know for a fact the internal voltage regulator is going in my 2001 with all my tests and new parts. Yes, the alternator is new, both batteries and the wires are good, as well as the grounds. I know the regulator is internal in the computer and are contemplating on doing a external modification to solve it, but are unsure. Has anybody done this mod to their truck and have any bad effects? I am looking at the kit at Alternatoparts..com and it looks pretty simple. The part number is ERCKFRM. I am thinking that this is why my automatic has been acting up. It all of a sudden started to stutter. I am sure the signal/voltage between the PCM and APPS is being effected some…

Alright, need some help here before I take a sledgehammer to it. A few months ago I had to replace my power steering pump. I figured since I was going to pull the vacuum pump anyway, I might as well be on the safe side and clean, inspect, and replace the o-rings even though it wasn't leaking. I've now put three sets of o-rings on this pump and I'll be @#$%ed if it isn't leaking again. I make my living as a mechanic but I may need to think about a career change. The first two sets of o-rings were from Gould. A buddy had bought it but ended up selling the truck so he gave it me. I followed the instructions exactly and torqued everything to spec. First time, leaked between t…

Hi all. I'm running into an issue that's got me pretty frustrated, and I'm not making a ton of progress, but I've ruled a lot of stuff out. Problem: My truck never boosts over 20-21 PSI (and I think it should given my mods), EGT's also seem SLIGHTLY higher than they should be. Not noticing power issues though. History: When I got the truck a bout a year ago, it only had upgraded (RV275) injectors. It always boosted up to 19 psi and no more. I added a Diablosport Power Puck (used), boost fooler (used), and boost elbow (new), and now I get around 20 psi (occasionally 21), and no more. What I've done: - Discovered a cracked exhaust manifo…

Hi everyone, I am trying to get all the gauges l on my edge programmer to work, I'm lacking on the fuel pressure , I had it hooked up working fine, then I installed a fass fuel pump the big one, and doing that eliminated the banjo fitting at the vp44 , so my question is could someone please tell me where I can find a fitting like a T that will let me screw the sensor into the side. ? Or any suggestions?

I've got a 2002 2500 5speed that's developed a vibration or a miss under light acceleration. This all started after the wiring fried on my relocated ddrp. I've said since repaired the wiring but sometimes the truck acts like it has either a leaking injector line or its getting air in the lines. However its only noticeable at 30 mph in 4th gear putting through town. I dont have any codes except for a p0177 and I know there's no water in the tank or lines. One last thing as soon as I accelerate or downshift to raise the rpms it goes and away. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Noticed some abnormal noise going down the highway yesterday, so I stopped and popped the hood, only to find that both my downpipe bolts had gone off and joined the bleedin' choir invisible... So, now I need to replace them so I can put my exhaust back on. Does anyone know what size they are so I can go down to Fastenal and get some good brass replacements and proper lock washers?

I have a 1999 2500 Cummins 24v that keeps getting the p0122 tps low voltage code on every tps the first time I changed it, it lasted a week then got another dead pedal so I replaced it again thinking I got a faulty tps and the new one last 2 days and I got the p0122 code again and the truck surges off and on. Ive did the reset procedure and it idles fine. Any ideas to what could be causing me to keep getting these problems thanks.

Hi guys, been a while. I'm having a problem with my truck getting up to temp. Unless I'm towing. But on normal driving edge on 5x5 it stays about 140 degrees. Any thoughts?

Had to pull the 5th wheel today. Been a couple years since I've done it. Blew my intake boot twice, too. Had to back it into a tight spot and take things slow. Had it in 4low even. Can't remember, how hot is too hot for the trans temp.?

Alright, so I bought this truck for cheap, its a 2000 2500 automatic with fairly low miles. It has a fass platinum lift pump. When I bought it the injection pump was off, so obviously not running. The po had bought a new injection pump from bd diesel, a new pcm, a junkyard instrument cluster and a "new" ecm. He said the truck was running several times after the injection pump was replaced, but kept dieing and he was done with it. So I put on the injection pump, ive got it bled at the inlet to the vp, and all the easy injector lines cracked. Tryed cranking it a couple times, not a kick. It keeps throwing codes P0122, P01688 and P01689. I looked them up on this site for con…

Hi guys, I want to know if I can tap the hole in the hy35 housing where the metal hose goes for the wastegate. I want to put the elbow that come with the edge jwa for increase boost?? Does it work or I'm better with a j-hook to increase boost?? Second question. For my 2001 24v automatic, does this vp44 pump #BOSH 0470506005 ---- #CUMMINS 3676670 fit directly on my truck or I need to get another key for the shaft?? If its bolt-on right with no problems?? I found one near. guys want 500$ new and said its for 1998-1999. It's a close enterprise ... Thank you

P0237 - low volt P0112 - low volt P01475 - 5v high DTCs popped up a few days ago. Had noticed a very slight surge in light throttle circumstances. Also my truck goes into high idle and its 60-80 degrees out. I unplugged my tst from the map to see if that was the issue. No luck I have gone nuts cleaning all my grounds. Used an old thread on here to help locate them all. Only ground I missed is behind the starter. Plan on pulling starter to rule it out. Ive cleaned map and IAT connections. Going to pull the sensors tonight and clean them. I cant find any pinched or scored wires. I have 5volts at the MAP connection and the IAT connection. Code cant be cleared …
