About a year ago I had the clutch replaced, went with a South Bend DD, I pull a 14k 5er, so this is the clutch I was advised to get. In retrospect, not sure I'd ever get another south bend, clutch is so dam temperamental, and seems to really suck when the humidity is high, lots chattering. This leads me to the main question, since this clutch was installed shifting gears when moving there is noticeable "resistance", it's worst trying to get into 3rd gear, if one pushes on the stick to hard it will grind bad (did not have this problem with stock clutch, but I did notice with stock clutch, that 3rd gear would grind once in a blue moon, I just figured I had screwed up th…

What do you guys know about the 100 or 150 hp injectors, I want to hear the good, bad or indifferent opinions on them. Cost, and how well they perform. I'm looking for more power in my truck, this 7000 lb tavel trailer is really hard to pull up hills especially when some idiot decides to drive 10 mph under the speed lmit right in front of me and I loose all my momentium and rpm's.

Man, pull a 14k pound trailer and it'll help remind you of what you need to do. Recently, I have not been as diligent on my maintenance as I should have been. Dunno if this is something by happenstance or a related issue. This only occurs after the truck sits for a while. The truck cranks just fine, but right at initial idle, I get a stutter then after a couple seconds goes away. I'm thinking I may be suffering from a leaky banjo tee? At the least getting air in the fuel lines somewhere. Thoughts? Just seems ironic this happens after pulling my trailer. I was keeping an eye on egts and never saw it go more than 1200 momentarily. I did at one point for …

Ok, I cant be the only one that has screwed up doing this (I hope anyway). I did a rear brake job with new drums, brakes, wheel bearings, seals, and change rear end oil. When I took the hubs apart they had oil in them and running out everywhere. Put everything back together and 40 miles later the rear wheels lock up. WTH right. THE REAR HUBS ARE NOT SPLASH FED FROM THE REAREND. Just because you put oil in the rear end don't mean the bearings are getting any. I went and found me a big hill to park it sideways on so oil can get in the hubs, I let it set there for 15 min then swap sides let it set for 15 min that side. I plan on doing this once a month (call me crazy) but th…

Some history..laid my truck up for winter, got it out and did a oil change and fuel filter change before I started driving it. Drained the fuel bowl so I bumped the starter about 5-6 times to allow it to fill before I started it, still ran dry of fuel. Cracked injectors and got it running but was stumbling a bit from air. Lasted about 1/2 hr before it cleared but also caused engine light on with 1690 code. Finally cleared up and light out, but the truck still has a different sound then i'm used to, more of a pingy sound and once in a while it seems to stumble when taking off. Today about a month since the first case, I started it and engine light came on and stumbling…

  9. So while out running some errands today all of a sudden my truck started acting like it had a miss. I limped it home and pulled the codes to find a P0602 - ECM fueling calibration error. I cleared the code reset the ecm to stock settings and started the truck up and it's still there. I reprogrammed the truck to lvl 6 started it back up and still no change. Is there a way to check if its VP or the ECM? Thanks in advance to the help everyone.

That's what this truck has needed since I bought it, at least it seems that way. I have 118K on the rig and Last week, I checked out the vibration when slowing and found a seized lobe on the rear pinion u-joint (Napa 330 for 3 joint shaft). Only cost 20 bucks and about an hours time though. Today, come out of work to a puddle of PS fluid from a 8 month old box leaking out of the pinion seal- I've been running a box/steering brace for 4 of those months. Speakers quit the week before that, oh and the parking brake tension cam froze up on the drivers side last weekend and it wouldn't release. Windshield got smacked by a rock a few weeks before that (can't help that though…

I know that sounds like a weird question, but a few years ago my truck developed this weird noise from 40 mph and up. It sounds like its coming from the drivers side wheel. The only way I can describe it is a high pitched flute sound. For a long time I thought it was a wheel bearing but I would bet that if a wheel bearing was that dry it would have destroyed itself after all these years. I am now leaning toward a U-Joint, either in the short shaft or in one of the hubs. Any thoughts from all you Dodge experts? By the way with the super quiet tires installed yesterday I can hear the noise a lot better now. Deric

Hello everyone, I'm trying to to figure out what gear ratio would be best in my truck. It's a 2000 , 2500 ,automatic. Stock gears in it are 3:54 and I put 37 inch military tires on it.. I am planning on gearing it but I need advice and opinions on what ratio to have installed.... 4:10 ? Or 4:56? , if I do 4:10 I can use stock carriers, if I go 4:56 I have to buy new carriers. what is the best for towing or all around.

Lady's and Gentlemen, I have 2002 Cummins, 108,000 K miles, Superchips programmer, 4" Banks exhaust with the power elbow, Airdog fuel pump and a cold air system. I just installed a Wicked wheel. Purchased a boost elbow. Now for the question.......I have a boost gauge, it hits about 19 at max. Do not want to damage my engine but you know how we are.....I would like to squeeze a little extra out of her. What is a safe boost level? Thank you in advance!

What is the cooling unit on the left side front of radiator? I don't have air conditioning. Bumper pushed into it and dented it slightly. 15 mpg and totaled the 99 Acura. Me, I need a new bumper, grill and 2 headlights. Meeting the adjustor on Monday and will be compensated for the accident and will fix myself. I already have a CCP bumper kit to weld up. Probably should pressure test the intercool too. No fluid leaking.
