While browsing dash cores on ebay, I have noticed that some dash cores only have the cigarette lighter and not the power port and lighter. The descriptions have stated they are not interchangeable. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

as long as I've owned this truck the driver side seat heater has never worked. with some basic trouble shooting I've looked at the connections, looked at the switch, checked fuses. All I get it the switch light will blink on the HI side of the selector. With the switch light blinking that leads me to thinking the heating pads in the seat itself are bad, but I could be wrong. Has as anyone else had this problem?

Who here is familiar with these cars? I have never owned one though VERY intrigued by how they are built to last a LONG time or longer. I know we have the engine (12 or 24v for arguments sake) but what body is over built enough to truly hold up to a million miles? Love to get this conversation started.. ULTIMATE LONGEVITY TRUCK. meaning can do projects around the house, tow the family camper and not be afraid to haul a load of manure in the rain. Lets bench build it

Hi all, getting closer to getting the Piggy to Smog and closer to ownership. So I am planning on Quadzilla. I see that some of the Motorized screens offered Android screens Single DIN mount. So my questions are what fits a 2001. Are Android apps installable from the google store using your phone as a hot spot? I guess that would require WIFI as well. Bluetooth Phone Must Bluetooth Quadzilla Possible ODBEC II reader Bluetooth Back up camera would be another option. So that's what I'm looking for. Any one with experience? Thanks Michael

Can anyone tell me the length from bolt to bolt of a DT or DOR track bar on a stock to 3” height. I have the DT bracket and am going to make a bar for it but want a ball park measurement before I install the bracket.

This week I installed a new heater core and with that I flushed the radiator, installed a new thermostat and radiator cap. I pulled the radiator while I had it empty to inspect it for blockages and it looks great. Before I took it apart it was starting to run a little warmer then usual especially when under a heavy load, but it never overheated.. I had suspected that the thermostat was going bad. I put 50 miles on it after flushing it and changing those parts and the temp held steady and nothing was out of the norm. Until I drove home last night. On the freeway the temp sat at around 160*. That is after it warmed up to just above 190*, then it dropped down and sat …

Has anyone done this swap to a 2nd Gen 01 Dodge 3500? I mean from the whole thing from tie rod to tie rods and bars. If so, did it work with simplicity or did you have to ream the knuckles out and get a different stabilizer set up? Thanks again!

My stocker has a huge chunk missing on the driver side, and also missing the tilt lever. Generally just a ratty seat, and it irritates me. I want to upgrade, so what do you guys suggest?

New here. Picked up a 98 12v in mint shape 112,000 miles. Stock everything. Neither power door lock works. You can hear both motors running, but nothing happens. I know the motors are in the latch assembly, but is there an easy fix for this? maybe a broken clip or something? PO said he hated power locks and never fixed them since he owned the truck (from 58,000 miles) but I kind of had the feeling he disabled them. Any suggestions? Not interested in paying the 125 apiece for new ones. Or anyone rebuild these? Or maybe something else?

Since I bought the truck 5 years ago or so I have been dealing with poor air flow from the heater and A/C. In fact, it struggles to keep the windshield defrosted, especially with several people in the truck. Once in a while, usually after start up, I get a faint smell of something burning and I have even had smoke come from the vents a couple of times. The problem has been getting worse so I finally decided to pull the HVAC box and found what I thought I would. The evaporator is caked in leaves and other debris. I looked all over for where the burning was coming from and the only thing that I can see is that the blower resistor was covered in the same debris. With t…

Hey guys, I just replaced my front suspension coils with a 2" level kit including shocks with Thuren Fabrication brand parts, and I also replaced the stock track-bar with a Synergy adjustable. Everything was installed per manufacturer's recommendations. My truck still makes a noise when I hit a bump and it's annoying. I have 35x12.50R20LT tires, though I doubt thats what's making or causing the noise. I'm not sure if its the ball joints or not. But in you guys experience, what all components would contribute to a hard ride and a "knock" like sound when hitting a bump in the road. I have the same issue on the rear, but those shocks haven't been changed a…

Looking to help with the heavy loads but I find online with most kits They say I need 8" between the frame and the inner dual tire. Does anyone have a kit that perhaps mounts different that'll bolt up or tell me I don't need that much space, currently only have 6" On the truck.

Hey guys/gals, I just replaced my track bar with a Synergy 3rd Gen Upgrade track bar. I noticed my sway bar links are leaning over to the left, I'm assuming that's because the front axle isn't centered. This bar is adjustable and to my understanding the axle is centered via this feature. My question is this, how would I know when the axle is centered? Do I simply "eye' it? Also, is the track bar the only method used to center the front axle? Thanks in advance.

Got it loose with the help of my new air hammer , but I need to know what the torque specs are for the axle nut (castle nut) and the for the 4 unit bearing mounting bolts on the back side. I plan on using copper anti seize on the mating surfaces after cleaning. Does anyone also put a drop under each bolt collar? To get them loose I had to have a 1/2'' breaker bar and add a 3 foot piece of pipe to get them Thanks for the help.

So earlier this year I helped my friend order one of these things. About a month later, he got drunk, forgot and ordered another one so he gave it to me. I guess these are cast from the same mold used to make the ones in the movie "Convoy" and "Death Proof" which is pretty cool and made to order so it takes about 6-8 weeks. I'm on the fence about putting it on my truck. I thought maybe through the top of the grill as that's easily replaced but then I worry about thieves ripping it from the plastic. I really don't want to put holes in my hood though. Maybe I should just bolt it to a bench or shelf in the garage. I still need to decide what color to powder coat it as…

Hey guys, I need to rent a trailer so I can move from Washington to Texas here in the next week. I'll be driving my 99 2wd tow pig. I'll be towing my 2001 ram 2500 QCSB 4x4 and was looking for recommendations on rental trailers. I want to have all 4 wheels on the trailer if possible. I've called Rhyder, Sunbelt, and United Rentals and their trailers have to be returned to the same location, so I need something I can return out of state.. Are there any other 1 way trailer rentals that have a max capacity of 8000lbs or more so I can be on the safe side or is something like Uhaul's trailer good enough? Uhaul's max trailer weight is capacity is 5,290…

The guy that runs the place got in a little trouble for complaining about a customers dress code. I don't know exactly what it was about, but I do have an imagination Lol...... So now I'm headed to 'Redneck Radiator' (not the real name) for repairs since the guy does good work. I forgot I had work done there before and was a straight shooter.

I recently acquired a 94 2500 regular cab 4x4. I've been going through it fixing some of the less than stellar modifications that the PO had done. Since the ABS pump/control module and airbag sensors are already gone, will there be any electrical/mechanical/legal issues if I remove the computer modules for these systems and delete the associated wiring from the harness? I will be the only person driving this truck and have never had a vehicle with ABS or airbags, so I'm comfortable without them. While the truck will be my daily driver/work truck (heavy equipment mechanic/operator) it is also being built up for serious 4-wheeling and overlanding.

My ram 2500 hit a tree head on at about 35mph. Everyone is ok and now it's time to fix the truck. All of the damage is in the driver's side front end. I got the inner and outer finder off, removed the trashed condenser, trans cooler, intercooler, and radiator. I can now see the extent of damage. The drivers side frame rail is bent and as you can see in the picture the bend gets very close to the steering gear box. There are frame alignment shops around me but I'm worried that this may not be possible to be bent back and not have any negative impact on the steering as the steerimg gear box alingment may be thrown off. I probably won't know till I get it into a shop for sur…
