Does anyone have one of these trucks that can help me out with some measurements and answer some questions? im trying to find out what the rear frame and rear axle differences are with my 3500 PU to see if I can use a set of bags I can get ahold of. (I'd test but they are out of state) I know the axle and frame is narrower than mine but is the frame C-channel different? Are the axles just narrower versions of the stock dually axles with the same size axle housing tubing?

Hi Guys,My 2001 2500 Ram fuel gauge shows 3/4 full with 700 kms on the trip OD. I filled it up and it took 90 litres and the tank is 128 Litres. Previous to this, it showed 3/8 of a tank and I ran out of fuel and had to bleed the system. Is there a fix to this other than replacing the sending unit? It occured right after I installed my ScanGauge11 but I'm sure thats just a coincidence. Thanks,Arcwelder

Well... after finally getting the rear brake problems under control about a month ago.. my front started acting up (noticeably) as of yesterday. When I bought this truck back in September... the previous owner was replacing the front passenger caliper the day I was picking it up. Said it was sticking. When I had the front hard lines replaced back in.. I think.. November... I had the front pads replaced (both sides - with Adaptive) because they were considerably more wore down than the driver's side as the previous owner didn't replace when he did caliper. Fast forward to yesterday and today as I started to hear scraping/grinding and …

Ok, So I'm almost done setting up my truck, getting ready to fabricate a tow hitch setup & I realize I don't know the towing capacity for this truck! it's a 2002 2wd 3500 quad cab dually 6 speed & HO. Dana 80 axle has 3.55 gears It has factory helper leaf springs, and firestone "ride rite" air bags So does anyone know the towing capacity for this truck? I'm wondering which class hitch to setup. I will always use 5th gear when towing as it's 1.00 ratio straight through. Also, I've installed a service body on this truck so that rules out gooseneck/5th wheel style towing. Thanks!

Ok so as I was driving tonight I turned on my headlights and a sec or two later all of a sudden my speedometer dropped and then the abs light came on then the fuel light and air bag and engine light. The mileage says "no bus" and the overhead console says "CCd" I do have HIDs but ive had them for almost a month now. First time im having this issue. Ive disconnected the batt and still nothing. The truck runs fine. FP is same and egts normal. No issues with driveability. Just the gauges dont show anything and the lights are displayed when driving or when just turn key to on position.

Hi guys newbie here,My pyrometer gauge stopped working and through my check I found the wire I tapped according to diesel manor install instructions lost power. All fuses check out O.K. Everything appears to work also. But I'm concerned this wire does something somewhere and I don't want a problem.According to the wiring diagram in the manual I downloaded from this site the wire is black/red but the wire is clearly black and tan.Any help with this would be appreciated.I'll attach a picture from the install instruction.

Had a fun drive into work this evening. I have about an hour commute and was almost at work and my pedal went squishy. I pulled over and found that my front drivers side soft brake line had worn through and burst. It looks like it is rubbing on the tire when at full lock turn. I have 3rd gen rims and 265/70/r17 wheels on (and tame tires too, not large knobbies). Does anyone know why this would have been happening? It looks like its happening on the passenger side too, but not as bad. I'm not looking forward to trying to fix this, but I'm also concerned that this would have happened and how to prevent it from happening again. Being new years eve, it was …

My tailpipe is rusted out. So I crawl under the truck to check it out closer and see that the pipe is 4" out of the resonator going into the muffler then going out of the muffler it's back down to 3" where it connects to the tip. Then the tip is 4" at the end.Is this right. Why didn't they just make it 4" out the back of the muffler and be done with it.

I’ll admit I don’t think I really understand the relationship between the batteries, alternator, battery temp sensor, pcm and the check gauges light. Yesterday I was doing a heavy pull with my winch, on 30 seconds off 30 seconds, and my check gauges light came on. The volt gauge was below 8, and I waited a min and it ever came back up. I assumed I’d blown my 200 amp fuse between the alternator and battery. I checked the fuse and it was fine, looked at the gauge again and it was back to charging (so 3-4 mins between check gauge warning and normal charging again). Every component in the charging system is in new/better than stock condition. All positive/ground cables are ne…

My vibration damper got gunked up from the puke bottle (did the mod) and my steering wheel vibrates at idle and I need to inspect it. Can the damper be removed by removing the 4 bolts that hold it? Or do I have to remove the fan and fan clutch. Do I have to mark it so it goes back like it came off. What should I use to clean it. Is it all one piece or two parts? Tx.

Brand new here hoping to get some advice. I noticed my drivers side front fender liner was getting oily the other morning and traced it back to the brake booster. I would like to replace both the hydro unit and master cylinder at the same time is this advantageous or should I not really worry about the master as it has no signs of leaking. Truck has 380k on it as it sits. Also any tips on changing one or both items would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance!

Hey gang! I'm having issues with the A/C system in my truck. This may take a while and make a long post but I think the context and symptoms may help the diagnosis. About a year ago when I'd turn the A/C on there would be a light smell coming out of the vents. It smelled to me like poplar leaves in the fall after they come down mostly dried up. SWMBO though it reminded her of old books bound in the 1950s and stored together in a closed room. It didn't linger long, maybe a minute or two would clear it out and all would be well. A/C performance was good at this point. I was thinking that maybe I had some poplar leaves down in the cowl that I needed to dig out. Never got t…

It started out with a leaking water pump then a belt then a alt. then a heater core then and fan motor. Take it from me, when you buy a water pump get it from Cummins. The parts store suc. When they sell you one for 59.00 at Oreillys and cummins is 153.00 there is a reason for that.

Here's another testament as to why I hate Dorman parts. I recently replaced both Interior door latch cables in my rear doors as they both broke when I removed the panels to replace my speakers. One of them is just barely too long, you can pull the handle and hears things move but the door won't unlatch. The outside handle still works though. The other door worked for a couple weeks then stopped opening entirely. How can I get the door open to take it apart again?

I haven't really finished, but figured I'd throw up a thread anyway. I haven't had them out for a test ride yet but I was fed up with ____ factory lights and didn't want to put a bunch of extra lights up there, so here's the new ricey hotness yay boxes of crap! old and busted new hotness in a box Wiring relays while I'm at it. After looking at the high and low patterns I was 90% sure I'd want to be able to run both on high, so I'll get a diode to trigger the low beam relay from the output of the high relay. Without the diode, the low trigger lights the high beams. Ask me how I know Naked! Ricey.... But not as bad as I'd fea…

I have a 1999 ram 2500 sport that previous owner put some crap aftermarket led headlights on. I ordered oem 4 bulb (2 each side) headlights and repaired patched in wiring. Once installed the inner bulb on each headlight works as both hi and low. The flashers and running lights work. The outer headlight bulb on each side will not light hi or low. On my way to get my multimeter now. Do the outer two bulbs light on hi only or low and high? Are they a separate fuse? I don't see any cuts like the mains had. P.s. this is a true sport with 2 headlight cables per side not a conversion. Any help is greatly appreciated.
