There's a fuse for the B/U lights, but appears to be IGN energized. I'm looking for a backup light wire (Violet/Black) under the dash somewhere, that's accessible. I'm wiring in a backup camera, and I need to tag that wire somewhere around the dash, rather than running a 20'wire bact to the lights, or the sensor at the trans.Thanks.

If I abused my equipment I could understand this, but I just changed antifreeze and Tstat about 8-9 months ago. Like the title says WHAT happen. I talked to Michael a little while ago and the only thing we came up with is, rust settled in the block and began its reaction after flush. Because I flush every time I change the Tsat and antifreeze. I just don't get it. I changed my 05 about 30 days later, real close to the same date, same brand of antifreeze and it looks just fine.

I'm able to buy the original CI-4 oil without any CJ-4 oil additives or lack of them for my 2 older diesels:thumbup2: :hyper:However, I don't like standing on a ladder holding a 5 gallon bucket over my engine with a giant funnel. It won't work. :doh:So what oil transfer pumps you guys got or use? Or better yet, what are some of the tricks you guys do with bulk containers?TIA

It’s snowing here in East TN today, but more importantly the temps are dropping to zero here over the next few days which is rare for us. I took my batteries to Walmart today to have them load tested and they say they checked fine. Put them back in the truck, started right up (I’ve been driving all day) a little ways down the road I got a CEL. 1689 and P0238. Truck would stumble every 1/4 mile or so. Got home, tuned the truck off, the lift pump was running. Thought maybe I missed a ground wire or something when I was hooking everything back up. Batteries unhooked now. Any ideas on where to start? I’d like to figure it out tonight before the real cold and ice get here tomo…

I was replacing the bulbs in my clearance lights on my 01 Dodge 2500 4x4 and the parking lights and turn signals went out. There is power to the fuse and the fuse is fine! I will replace the relay next but I'm not sure where it is. I smelled something hot and it went away to fast to trace it. Not sure what to do next, I'm a fabricator/race-car builder, not an electrician. Frankly, i'm scared........LOL! Any help is appriciated, Thank you in advance. Chris,

I have a 2001 dually currently leveled with a block and on 315/75/16's all the way around.. It leaves something to be desired from a drivers standpoint to say the least.. I am contemplating whether to go to a 285/75/16 or maybe even down to a 265/75/16. I like the way the truck looks leveled but have heard it could require some extra attention to keep it leveled and have everything be "RIGHT." She has 335k miles on her and it is time to go through the whole suspension. will likely start with the front end and I am hoping to gain some knowledge here on what stuff is a MUST replace (and what parts), what is a "I would do it if I am in that far" and what should be check…

Someone ought to know on here...My torque wrench goes only up to 150ft. lbs. I need to attain 180ft. lbs. I've thought if I could do the math right, I could just add another so many inches to the wrench to attain the proper leverage to get that weight.Anyone know if I can do this with the torque wrench? Yea, I know where I can get the proper wrench that goes to 250ft. lbs. but its also $100 that I do not have at the moment.

I have been having an issue that's come down to being a major pain in my ***. My truck began to have a slight miss in the pedal, rough idle and would die at times. So I ran some codes and Saw 0216. My mechanic said a miss in the pedal is probably the vp44 taking a dump. About 2 weeks later the truck died! All signs pointed to vp44 so we changed it out. Mind we didn't diagnose, just assumed that it died and wouldn't restart that was it. After changing vp44, 3 days later it acted up again. We check fuel pressures, and pressure tested the pump and checked for air. we found a voltage issue, a battery was shot, replaced it. Decided maybe it was the vp44, claimed warranty and …

I took out the heavy duty lift coils and put my stock front coil springs back in. With the lift, the drag link adjusting sleeve was maxed out with the threaded ends butting each other in the sleeve. So I cut 3/4” off each threaded end so they wouldn’t bottom out. Now I have a huge gap between the threaded ends with everything roughly aligned by me. Is this a weak point or don’t worry. This is on my 01 with 2010 T style steering.

I noticed a oily little leak on my frame looking in the driver side wheel well. Examining under the hood and with a mirror I see oil moister on the Hydralic brake booster. Power steering fluid isnt down to bad, check hot, might be slightly down but not at the add line at all I thought at first it might be the master cylinder but its dry right where it mounts to the hydraulic booster. Looks like there is a little leak drain out hole on the middle bottom of the Hydraulic booster kind of like a water pump has I used a little de-greaser spray and hosed everything off clean so I can see exactly where its leaking from next time I drive Any…

i noticed 2 days ago my transmission got REAL hard to shift gears. well not out of gear, but into gear. i started double pump'n and it is better. i have nv4500 and i checked fluid levels(clutch master and trans). the trans fluid was full and still pretty clear. i flushed the fluid 30-40k ago and filled with dealership fluid. i noticed that the slave cyclinder doesn't have a bleeder valve. the chilton book says the hydraulics are sealed and don't need to be bleed.so...does it sound like the clutch is wore or like i need to bleed?

Has Anyone ever had their radio short out?I know there has to be a short somewhere. One day as I was listening to the radio I parked and shut off the truck to do some errands. When I started the truck up again I didn't notice that the radio didn't go back on until I was almost back at home. After a few weeks of not having anything to listen to, I noticed after I started the truck up to go somewhere the radio went back on!I search all my fuses and even changed them out and look for any shorts. I even removed the bezel front from the dash and couldn't find a thing.Right now I am dead in the water.Does anyone have any thoughts of anything I may have over looked?ThanksSteve

Hello all, I replaced the clock spring yesterday. And no cruise control with new one installed. On the old clock spring I would get it once in a while. But after install I took for a spin and nothing. No light in dash. Do I need to go in with my Snap On Modus and clear any codes due to disconnecting the air bag? Is didn't find any fuse. Or maybe I over looked it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,John

I've noticed over the last few months that there has been a slight loss of coolant. I pulled back the carpet on the passenger side, and noticed the insulation under the carpet is damp. I'm concluding that the heater core is leaking. Here's my questions.1. If I wait until late summer or fall to repair this, and if I don't use the heater, will it continue to leak into the cab?2. I'm thinking this is a job that is too big for me. What should I expect to pay to have this fixed? Thanks to all who respond,Eric
