  2. Well everyone, wondered why my fuel level has been going down so fast lately. Got out of the truck only to see a puddle of fuel leaking on the driveway. Got underneath it and as best as I could find the return line to the top of the fuel tank/sending unit was loose. Went to a friendly garage and got the truck up in the air and confirmed it. We put a draw straw along with a Raptor 100 pump in about a year ago and its been running fine since that time. Now this happens and of course it has to be 108 degrees and humid out there this week, so getting under the puppy for hours at a time to get the sending unit out just is not going to happen, at least right now. My problem so …

Any tips or tricks to degreasing my motor? Need to get her cleaned up and attempt to tackle my leaking tappet cover. Seems like all the degreasers Ive bought most recently aren't very strong anymore. Simple Green, Purple Power as we as the Orange stuff don't seem very powerful. Anything I should really avoid getting wet (I know there is no distributor but is there something else important?).

l have some Anderson sb350 type connectors l'm going to use as quick disconnects for my winch to connect it to the battery in my truck. My question is after l crimp the cables to the connectors and install them in the plastic housing, what would you guys use to seal the back end to prevent moisture from getting in?? l tried buying some "heat shrink" type sealers made for these connectors but evidently mine are a smaller size because they are way to big Thanks

  9. Just a few questions: Who has made a screen to catch bugs behind the grill? I am getting alot of bugs stuck in the radiator and a/c coil behind the grill. If you have made one what did you use, and does it work well? Also, does anyone run a winter cover? I know it's not winter now but are they necessary in the winter? I'm in N.W. Ohio and the past couple winter's haven't been all that bad. Just want to be prepared if I would need it. One last question- My '01 is a basic model, no bells and whistles. It has the openings in the front bumper for factory fog lights but nothing in there. Just a large opening. Is there something I could place in there or i…

In front of the gauges there is a clear plastic 'glass' cover. Has anyone ever removed that clear cover? My new to me work truck (2001) has big gobs of dog hairs in there. Want to clean but how? How the leather interior is so close to perfect yet got dog hairs behind that glass in front of gauges I will never know Oh yeah, dust too

  11. Hey all, back again! as the title states, my truck does terribly in 2WD in dirt if it starts to slip just a bit. I got stuck briefly at a friend’s cabin trying to reverse up a very very slight incline. I get terrible axle wrap in both forward and reverse. I know obvious answers would be go into 4HI but I have an issue with my T-Case. That’s being thought upon currently on how I wanna go about replacing it. While in 4HI, it pops back into 2HI as soon as I give it any skinny pedal. I also found out the P/O put a junkyard NP241 DLD in it… almost certain my year with the 6 speed came with a DHD so I don’t even want to rebuild this one and diagnose it… whic…

I am embarrassed to show anyone what lurks under the hood of my truck. Have had a few suggestions, but think it would be good to get this out for everyone. Good products for soaking off grime and grease? I've heard that Simple Green works well (Jag1 says). Concerns about power washer use under the hood?

  13. I'm not good at all when it comes to electrical. I would like to wire up some fog lights, rear back up lights, third brake light on my topper and moon visor lighting. I'd like to know if I can just wire the third brake light into the tail light or hitch wiring without a relay? It's LED I believe... The moon visor lighting... can I just wire it into the headlight switch somehow.. without relay? I already have fog lights in the factory location in the bumper but are not factory wired. The previous owner installed with relay and toggle. I want to run another set of fog lights under the bumper on a toggle. I have wiring and relay that came …

  14. So today on The way to get the parts for our company truck while in my 01 3500 ram. I came around a curve and on the other side of the 2 lane road. I seen a doe standing next to the road I was going about 55 mph in 6th out of habit I geared down and let off the fuel pedal. The doe ran toward the fence and began to jump over mid jump she turned around and ran across the road as I got there I hit it dead center of my front bumper. I said some words as the deer went sliding down the road about 40 foot or so then off to my side. So I rode up past and got out to check for damage on the truck and there was almost no damage on it. I broke the bad fog light I was gonna replace. …

Well a paid a guy that I trusted pretty well to do a brake job and fluid flush on the dually. After looking at it and having a severe vibration I called him out on it. Boy was he pissed. Trying to fight me and everything. What do you guys think. Put maybe 100 miles on it before I had a chance to flush it myself today. The vibration is a another long story. The pic is what I sucked out of the reservoir One other thing, I think I may have glazed my front pads cause I took down the track the day after they were put on. Are they toast or will they come back after some wear?

I have a centrifuge that uses a small air pump to push the oil up to the fitting going through the oil fill cap. I also have a edge juice that has a turbo cool down timer i have set at 300. I have the pump set to key on power from inside on the aux circuit. That is dead when the cood down is working with the key off. I was thinking i could move the power which energizes a relay for the pump to come off the alt but am unsure if the alt has a dc power signal that is only active when the eng is running so it will turn off the pump after the eng stops turning but stay on with the key off and end running so the centrifuge will continue workng while it is cooling down.Thank…

Need a little help here as I am stumped. I just pulled the Vac/steering pump as a unit and fixed the oil leak with new seals and a new power steering pump. After everything was back in and fluids were topped off I test drove it and right away the ABS and parking brake light came on. I checked the vac line and its connected. My vent control works great so I know the system has vacuum. Test drove it and power steering works and brake pedal feels good but a panic stop locks up the rear brakes (no abs function). What am I missing? Truck is a 2001 2500 Cummins 4x4 extended cab. found a wheel sensor plug was not properly connected. Thx…
