Wasn't as horrible as I thought. probly an hour to get it out. I am reinstalling with heater hose adapters. Instead of tearing the truck apart more. I may see if i can finangle the swivel lines through but on a quick look in the dark I don't think they go without do the other 3hours of disassembly

Probably wondering why I mounted backup lights on my rear axle. Simple... I originally had mounted a set of driving lights on the back bumper. About a year later while I was out in the woods collecting fire wood I back up over a pile of rocks and crushed a light. Well in the near future I start thinking about new locations to mount the new lights. So after hunting around the truck for a spot that won't get hit. I found the rear axle. The light as guarded by the axle while you rolling forward and the are also guarded by the sway bar while backing up. Contact me for information on ordering a Backup light kit.

It started out with a leaking water pump then a belt then a alt. then a heater core then and fan motor. Take it from me, when you buy a water pump get it from Cummins. The parts store suc. When they sell you one for 59.00 at Oreillys and cummins is 153.00 there is a reason for that.

I am adding a boost, pyro, and fuel gauges to my pillar. How do y'all wire up the back lighting for your gauges and where do you run your boost line in the intake at do you just drill and tap the intake horn?

  7. Has anyone attempted to resolve the peeling black sticker stuff in between the side windows? I have seen a number of trucks afflicted by this. Is it vilable somewhere? I was thinking of cutting out some black vinyl and slapping it on. Maybe paint? I can just imagine the old stuff being a pain to remove. Your thoughts.

I've decided how I'm going to run the harnesses for my XZT+ & the IAT fooler. The mechanic was fussing about "all the extra wiring" under my dash while they were working on it. (Too bad he did not call me because there was the Trailer brake box & the Escort remote radar detector system... neither of which connects to the engine.) Well, I took the knee panel out. I had left the harnesses long & just zip tied them up & out of the way. Since I know I still have to have the dash pulled for the heater & AC repairs, I figured I'd create some slack to work with. (snip, snip, snip... zip ties out)So I started to install the 2 toggle switches for the X…

I just set up my pressure washing rig in the back of my truck. I would estimate I have maybe 250 pounds that sits after the axle. Do you think this could affect the front end? Like making it more sensitive to every little bump? PS.. I'm not worried Nick

How can I tell which of my heater hoses is the inlet and outlet? And I use the inlet hose for flushing, is this correct? I know there's an easy way, but can't find it anywhere. Thanks. - - - Updated - - - I see the two hoses, one goes to the water pump, the other comes out of the block and goes directly into the heater core. I'm guessing the one from the block to the core is the inlet. Is this correct?

  14. My buddy was off today so while I was at work he took my 01 Ram to install FP gauge. He put the required banjo bolt in the bottom of fuel canister complete with snubber, then attached the plastic line fird up the truck and it sucked in air instead of blowing out fuel!! Why doesn't it pump the fuel/air out when running or cranking over? It actually sucks in air and the lines need to be bled. Any help? I am not running an isolator.Arcwelder

I know I have a thread related to this and cant find it I have pictures of the rust free Texas quad cab that I will be posting when I find the cord for my camera. I got the cab with fenders detached all doors and glass for 1200 I need some help in an estimate on the weight of the cab with doors. I have two trailers I can use to pick it up I'd like to use the small one that way I can push it around but I'm limited to 1500 pounds capacity do you guys think with all doors glass and most of the interior it will weigh under 1500? I wouldn't think so but I haven't even had a door off yet so I'm guessing at best but being there is no b pillar I would anticipate a higher we…

The backup lights on my 2nd gen truck don't work.So naturally I thought the bulbs were burned out. When I checked I found both bulbs were good.I am guessing that there must be a backup light switch some where in or on the auto tranny. When I tried to look up backup light switches at Geno's or Rock AutoI can find switches for the manual trans but not the auto.Maybe the switch is mounted internally in the trans????Anyone know where this switch is and if it is replaceable without pulling the trans apart?Should I be looking for some other possible culprit for my backup light problem?

Yesterday afternoon I read every post about Cruise Control on this forum. There was only one personHEAVY DUTY aka Delano Watts, that had the same problem as I have. There was never a conclusion or remedy to solve his problem, his thread just went dead. I am telling this story so everyone knows that I honestly tried to solve this by myself using information supplied by members. With this said I will submit my problem and hope to find a remedy. My cruise control has never worked sence I have owned this truck. When I press the CC button on the steering wheel the green lite, lites up as It should. The vacuum required to operate the HVAC heater/defroster works as It should. I h…

Hey all, so I'm in need of more fuses for accessories and what not. The previous owner when hooking up the quadzilla used some type of pigtail add a fuse which had a small metal piece that was flat and then the other end went down around the pin on the #9 engine fuse. I'm wanting to do an actual add a fuse but I have 2 accessories already running off ignition hot sources in the fuse box and there isn't room for me to put the add a fuse on #9 for the quad. Geno's garage I believe used to sell a "painless" wiring fuse box for ignition hot sources but I can't seem to find it these days. I want to run the gauge cluster and air dog to the new block so I have room to do the cor…

  19. Here it is again haha. I know, I apologize. So, I am in a bit of a predicament. For a while I have known my steering needs to be fixed. I know that my gearbox has massive amounts of slop and I just replaced all my ball joints, tie rods and lastly drag link maybe a month ago. With that being said, I am starting to get whining and groaning from the pump as well as it getting hard to turn to the right. I know that my pump needs to be replaced (fluid is clean as a whistle and was replaced about 2 years ago and since we really havent driven but maybe 5k in it since. Since my power steering pump is on its way out I will replace it and since my steering box has slop and leaks, I…
