A question maybe someone could help with. I have a 2000 ram 2500 24v Cummins when I tried to adjust the mirror it blew the fuse that controls the mirrors, radio, and cargo light. After the fuse blew I now have to manually turn the radio on and off and the cargo light will not turn off even when the truck is off. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

[I've been coming to this forum for years. All my normal logins didn't seem to work, and neither did any attempts to reset passwords on any of the email addresses I use... So, created a new account. Or, maybe an account for the first time...] 2001 Ram. Over 400K miles. I just replaced the seals in my vacuum pump. Put it back together, and now it appears my power steering fluid is leaking. The leak seems to be coming from the side that faces the front of the truck (where it mounts to the vacuum pump). I didn't think power steering fluid came out of the drive shaft that fits into the vacuum pump? Thoughts?

I’ve just about got all the pieces to put an he351ve in my 98. I’m gonna be using a banshee controller that will take care of the exhaust brake functions. I need a momentary switch to activate the brake. It will need to be wired up and have some kind of contact with the fuel pedal. I’m thinking a surface mount momentary switch will be best because I don’t want to drill a huge hole in the floor board. I want the switch to be closed when the button is not pressed instead of open when it’s not pressed. Is that just determined by which way I wire it? Anyone have a wiring for dummies book I can borrow?

After a month long road trip there is a few things wrong the oddest is the heating and cooling selection. the truck is limited to either full hot, or full cold and with cold it’s AC only, not just drawing in outside air. it’s the same regardless of fan speed, it’s also gotten “stuck” on one or the other but if you leave it selected to the other long enough, or shut the truck off and turn it back on it’ll go to what is selected. any ideas? All vents work, fan speeds no issues. I also have a heater treater installed but that was put in years ago.

Has anyone here installed on before? The one I got came with a Wiring schematic but beyond that there’s no more installation instructions.

Its time for dash repair on my rust bucket. 2001 2500. LMC, Genos, Ebay, or Amazon? Whos fits best? Best made? Don't really care about color because I'll paint it. I'm really looking at the fiberglass one from Amazon. Some say fits good, others not so good but glass seems better than plastic to me. Don't know how to add a link so pic will have to do. Thanks for any advice you can give. Happy New Year everyone.

So I have Mikes CCV mod on my truck and it seems to puke a few teaspoons of oil at least a few times a week. To go along with that I have no 4x4 functionality. I am going to go through ALL the vacuum lines tomorrow (5/32" correct?) I am going to replace them all, and reroute them much cleaner if possible to get them where they aren't constantly in the way. Here is question number 1, if I have a vacuum leak(s) could it contribute to some of the oil puking? IF NOT, I need to figure out a way to catch the oil before my wife throws me out of the house :-) we cannot have oil on the driveway. I get that excess blowby could be caused by a poor functioning vacuum system, I …

I've been using this site for awhile. It shows factory parts diagrams along with part numbers, including superseded numbers. You can enter your VIN also. http://Moparpartsgiant.com I've also found similar sites for ford and chevy that come in handy for side jobs.

So I searched a whole lot, maybe I have just been unlucky, but I have not found a better blower option for 2nd Gen A/C blowers. My brothers 4th Gen pushes much more air. I am not looking for colder air. I just replaced my entire A/C system. I want more air. I dont care that the system was designed for the stock blower. Has anyone put a 4th Gen blower in a 2nd Gen? Or is there a better blower? Maybe wire the stock pig to 24v?

I recently had my tank down to clean/install draw straw. There was a vent-line looking connection that was plugged with crap, but nothing on the end of the line; I put a new piece of 5/16" fuel hose on it and made it into a loop to at least slow ingress of crap as the tank breathes. Is there a special vent that's supposed to be there (like with a roll-over shutoff gizmo), or just a standard breather? Or....? Lots of things missing on my truck, including the puke bottle! Didn't even know that was a thing until I saw MoparMan's PVC pipe trick.

Can people who have done this upgrade share their feelings? My truck needs tie rods, and if I am going to go 4th gen now is the time.

I think I could use a new truck... Seems like anytime I get in to drive my truck anymore, a gremlin has to come out of it. Winter decided to rear its ugly head and the switch got flipped. Suddenly, I'm getting DUMPED on with snow. No way im driving the little passat. So I jump in the truck, drive it to work yesterday morning. Now I get a little show on my dash of my speedo dancing around and the ABS and brake like coming on. It'll come on, turn off. Back and forth. I ordered a speed sensor for the transmission and rear diff. Which one could it be? Or is it something else?

I've been trying to find some better mirrors for my 01. I really do not care for the Dodge flip up mirrors. I've seen something about using Chevy extendable mirrors on the 2nd gen but haven't found out for sure what year mirrors to use. Anyone here know anything about this?

  14. Might as well get the embarrassing part out of the way first, I tried to take a shortcut while wiring up my new radio and majorly messed up. While hooking up the steering wheel control adaptor I grounded what I assumed was just one of the two wires going to the steering wheel buttons. You know what they say about assumptions. What I actually grounded was the positive side of the CCD circuit. When I turned the key on I got the no bus message on the odometer along with the other symptoms that come with that, but the truck did start. Naturally I put all of the wiring back the way it was, but now the truck only cranks but never fires. So I can either have a running truck with…

I have a 1998.5 4x4. I recently purchased a 1998.5 2x4 parts truck. It has power leather seats in it and the same exact plug under the drivers seat as mine. I installed the seats in my truck and installed the power seats breaker from the parts truck. And nothing. No click, no noise, no power to them. Is there another plug under the dash or another fuse I haven’t found that needs to be put/plugged in to make them work.

so long ago i replaced the shoes on the rear drums. but for the life of me i just never got them set correctly and they never really held the truck (i always park in gear) ive tried looking and cant find a comprehensive procedure for this so does anyone have a proper drum brake procedure to get them properly adjusted, i know how to replace them and such, just getting the adjusters set correctly then adjust the cable to the pedal (i already messed with it long ago) i will be getting new shoes and doing it over again correctly this time. thanks

Back in October I went ahead and upgraded to the 4th gen tie rods and while I was at it I replaced the track bar, and everything was all peachy until I hit a bump and it dropped out the socket on the driver side and I could never get it to stay, so I returned it and got a Moog bar and I'm still having problems, in fact, it's worse with bump-steer and it's like driving a wet noodle down the road. If torqued them to spec, loctited them, and even stripped the nut on the frame side I tightened it so much, and here I still sit. If anyone has a solution, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

It’s time to put ball joints in the dodge so I’ve been gathering parts. Sounds like many folks recommend the AC DELCO pros. I ordered 3 off amazon and One off rock auto since amazon didn’t have all 4 I needed. Here’s what showed up first. Amazon has the dull knurled, rock auto was smooth polished one. So I returned the 3 amazon ball joints and ordered the rest from rock auto. And the ones that showed up today look just like the amazon ones. I don’t even know which one’s to put in since the body length and tapers are completely different from one set to the next with same part number. There’s been a mix of USA and Taiwan made parts I stopped into Napa and their hou…

I put new rebuilt calipers on last front brake work with new pads. Front Passenger side pads wore out a little more than drivers side The second set of front pads same thing is happening . These are auto zone rebuilt calipers lifetime guaranty so I can replace free... Im thinking I just got a bad caliper. Do you think the drivers side caliper is bad since its pads arent wearing as much?
