  2. I've got some questions about the upgrade path for my truck. Intro thread here with some more info and background. Truck Info: 2001 Quad Cab Automatic/HY35 ~260K Miles 4.10s 285/75R16 - 33's BHAF, 4" Turboback, Billet Singe Torque Converter, Shift Kit, Fass Random small things like greaseable ball joints, etc I'm happy with the truck when just driving around, but I feel like it could use some more power when towing my fifth wheel up some of the passes in WA/ID/OR/MT. It'll definitely do it, but i've had some steeper grades where keeps 40/45 is difficult and I'd like to make that easy while keeping my EGTs in check…

I have a 2001 and after sitting for a couple days it now will cut out around 2k or 25-30 psi with comp box on. I shut the comp off it runs fine. Maybe wire tap?

Ok, so I've got a dilemma. As many of you know, My DD is an '01 QCSB SRW 6speed. A friend texted me a picture of a '99 QC Dually. I went to look at it, and the guy has had it for 5yrs, and no longer needs a dually, and wants to get a SRW truck. I, on the other hand, have been looking for a dually. So, trade talks ensued. Here's what he's got: 99 QCLB Dually 4x4, auto 268k mi new steering components new steering box new tires new shocks automatic with stock TC and Trans-Go shift kit overload springs Quadzilla Adrenaline Gauge pod w/EGT, BOOST, and Trans Temp gauges New VP44 FASS DDRP MBRP 5" turbo-back Leather interior w/ couple…

I’m new to all this stuff so bear with me. Lol I have a stock 2001 Dodge 2500 5.9 and I put a quadzilla xzt tuner on it and I’m wanting to do a different tune on it. How do I go about doing this? Also any ideas on bumping up size of injectors or any other rather inexpensive upgrades you can think of would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have not found a definitive source for repair manual. Aftermarket cover too many years and motors. I really prefer old cut down tree version rather than online. Is there a good place to get a hard copy manual for my truck?

Ok I have fallen on quite a bit of misfortune in the last few weeks. I have a cummins 8.3isx engine that seized a bearing and blew a hole in the side of the block. I also have a 24 valve with a spent vp44. I am trying to find a way to make one running engine out of the two. Will the 8.3 with the mechanical pump have all of the parts I need to convert the 24 valve to a p pump? And no, i won't be keeping the engine, I will be selling it to purchase a 6.7 for the Chummy. I love my quad and do not want to convert the Chummy to mechanical gauges. Is it possible?

Hi everyone , New to this forum , Took a long time to register wow . Anyhow I have been through all the CTD forums and I have to say this one has been the most friendly and informative over the others . With all that said here I go , I have a 2002 CTD 2500 4wd that I custom ordered with every bell and whistle that was available in 02 . The truck only has 91000 original babied miles , light towing once in a while . My current mods are as follows . Quadzilla tuner , MBRP single into duel 4in exhaust , Air Dog II , Banks High Rise intake , and just this past weekend I installed a new Suncoast stage III trans with billet triple disk TC , OUCH that one hurt the…

  11. I'm trying something different. I'm straying my calculation a bit. I know that the Hankook 245's are the same weight capacity as the 235's. Now I'm going to keep the offset from front to back but I'm going to rise +10 PSI to both axles. So my front is 70 PSI and the rear is 50 PSI. I'm mostly highway miles right now but I've had strange wear patterns in the past running 60 PSI front and 40 PSI in the rears. It would feather or cup the edges of the tires. When the winter weather and road conditions come I might drop back to get the bite for traction purpose. With the pressures this high I've notice my contact patch is much smaller for sure.

  12. Just curious what people are running as a majority. I heard when I owned a 7.3l that the 6637 was the preferred filter to use for two reasons. One, it was cheap and two,it had a metal mesh on OD AND ID. Many of the guys claimed it was les chance of filter getting wet, tearing and getting sucked into the turbo. Bad news. I just picked up the recommended 2790 which is a bigger diameter 10.5" versus 6637 which is 8.5", but it does not have a metal mesh I'd. Just paper on I'd and mesh only on od. Just curious if anyone has seen any problems with the 2790 collapsing. I'd also like to know what cfm each of them flow if anybody knows! Thanks.

  13. (Copied From TDG.com) These are the steps we went though to put the injector nozzles in the injectors. I will make this simple and to the point. It is the easiest. Might as well save the money from complete injectors and assemble the nozzles your self and then put the money you saved into something else for your truck. Just an idea. Good luck. -Tools needed: 3/8" inchpound torque wrench, screw driver, 15 mm deep socket, vise, 2 small pieces of flat wood (3" long x 1" tall), clean rags, cup of diesel, and toothbrush. -First I took a buddies complete injectors that he had removed from his 24 valve the previous week. -I put one injector inbetween the two pi…

Hey guys, I didnt want to clog up my intro thread with my questions. Just want to get some clarification as this is my first Cummins. 1. My radiator is about half full of what looks like green coolant. Obviously I need to add more but can I just add green coolant from the parts store? Supposedly some the the Auto Zone coolants have the Cummins logo on the bottle, I will have to check. 2. I need to change my fuel filter, looks like it is on the drivers side of the engine correct? Does that cap unscrew and the filter just pull out? 3. Where can I find a fuse diagram as well as a wiring diagram. My fan for the climate control does not work, no matter what speed I turn to not…

I have read a previous post about the torque management system on these trucks. It seems that you can put a switch on the Park/ reverse switch on the transmission and connect two wires to be able to cut it on and off. I have my truck built to race but my only problem is it won’t launch or build anymore than 10psi of boost off the launch. So my question is did anyone ever try this or successfully put in a switch? I’m curious if you have to cut the power completely to the transmission going through those 2 wires or if you just need to put in a jumper. Thanks.

  16. Hey guys, just reaching out before I start spending some money. I have a 2nd gen dodge 5speed 3.73 gears with mild build. I recently bought a 37’ toy hauler that weighs close to 9,000lbs empty. I live in Colorado and when I tow this thing is usually over some pretty serious passes. As summer is here I’m struggling keeping my engine temps under control. I do have a high flow water pump, new oem replacement radiator and 190* thermostat. While pulling up RIO with my RZR in the trailer I got a little out of control on my temps. Probably 225*. My EGTs were getting a little hot at about 1250. My truck was getting hotter sooner with my antifreeze/water ration about 70/30. I took…

So i got my new seat in and it took 2 minutes to remove the old beat up one. while i had it off i decided to tackle the dead motor for the front side of the seat up/down and why it wasnt moving. I pushed the up and down and watched as it barely turned. even helping with a wrench didnt work so i took it off with the 2 torx screws attaching the worm gear housing to the frame. Tested again and it spun but was weak and after about 20 seconds of freespin it would stop... ok so i took it apart and cleaned the stator and brushes. still same effect, 20 sec and stop. so i took it apart and looked at it and here is what i found and the fix but there is a s…

  18. Anyone have as much trouble as I have with these Quadzillas? Driving to work today and mine died and lost communication and wont come back on anymore. Checked my fuses to it and they're all good, even replaced them and still nothing. I have power all the way to it and even ignition communication and still not a peep. Really tired of all this, last time I sent it in I had to pull Quadzilla's leg to even look at in WITHIN warranty. Anyone know of any other custom tuning options for these trucks? Really tired of replacing a box every year. Thanks!

Hey guys I think I am ready for a turbo upgrade but don't want to get crazy. Thinking of having my turbo made into a 35/40 hybrid. Any pros, cons advice would be great thanks:thumb1:
