I'm progressing on my streetrod build and am running into space constraints with where the engine sits relative to the 1950's body. I know I CAN move the engine back with new engine and tranny mounts, but would prefer to not go that route. I've already decided to use a different RAD with electric fans in place of the stock fan for space, but need more if I want to not move the power plant. I've got 4" to work with. So a few questions for the great minds than mine leaving the power plant in place and having room for the RAD and AC condenser up front where they belong: 1. I could forego the stock CAC and do a liquid/air cooler and tuck that up under a fende…

Hello I’m going do this mod but have a question I don’t have a Passenger side battery and was wanting to know if I needed to run a hot wire on top of radiator to hot side of drivers battery to hook Alternator wire to? i have the hot lead that came off factory set up from passenger battery that I have the grounds hook to now that I need to put on injection pump side for new grounds! I could make a longer cable to replace my ground now for the Alternator. And what do u do with the factory Alternator wire in the harness cut it off? Or could I just do the grounds and leave the Alternator wire in harness or is that the wire that carry’s the …

Hey guys my local pulling association just made some new rules for a stock diesel pulling class, it says you can only use a turbo that came stock on your make model and year truck. So what I am wondering is what is the best turbo I can put on my truck? Also do you think it is possible that a hybrid 35/40 would be able to be picked up by a instpector and or maybe would not help me. Thanks:thumbup2:

My truck is pretty much stock, I use it for towing my 18 foot landscape trailer 98% of the time, i wanna boost the hp alittle to help it pull up the hills. I don't want to start changing injectors and all that stuff, I just want a quick boost in power and call it a day. My truck has the small Hy35 turbo on it, I was considering either swapping the bigger Hx35 OR slap a small tuner on there, which one would be a better option?? will i see any real noticible gains from the bigger turbo for towing or would a small tuner be a better option????

I finally had some time and good weather to work on my project. The goal is to replace the black boxes that may be unobtainable in the future. The speed/ position sensor circuit was reworked again it is an advanced and adaptive design now part hardware and some digital signal processing. This is the 4th gen now. It syncs up fast and has good noise filtering. It also does not rely on hard coded zero crossing thresholds. It learns and saves the last known good values in non volatile memory for fast start ups. The cold weather revealed some problems which are fixed now. The injection drive has to be hammered harder and for longer time than…

I just installed my Edge Juice w/ Attitude and I am wondering how I can check to make sure I have the pump wire tapped properly. I don't want to run my JWA like an EZ. I wanted to go with the Stealth plate but I was already getting an earful about the money spent on the JWA so I just did the Posi-tap. Can I unplug the module and check the voltage at the harness if I trace the wire? Should I just put a stealth plate on, try to seal the pump wire back up and not have to ever worry about it again? There doesn't seem to be a good place to check the voltage with the posi-tap like their is with the stealth plate. Sorry if this is repeat post. This has probably been asked a lot…

I was in a panic when my fuel pressure went down to 5psi. Went to O'Riely's and spent $53 on a cheap Chinese pressure gauge with all kinds of adapters for most likely any vehicle. Second time I used it the piece in the middle that presses the schrader valve fell out and would no longer test. I took it back and got my money returned. Ordered one from Vulcan Performance. Was here the next day and cost $54. Nice liquid filled gauge that only goes to 30psi and has a 6' hose. You could route it into the cab if wanted. It's got a turn valve that depresses or not the schrader insert. Unscrew the gauge from the hose and you've fgot a great bleeder system and can bleed into a…

I’ve had a quadzilla on my truck since 2014, great results. But last night I went into my truck to start it, nothing no lights or anything both batteries dead, unplugged the adr then let the batteries charge overnight. Started truck, shut it off plugged my adr back in, crank no start unplugged the fuse tap and plugged it back in started but runs like crap. Unplug the ADR and runs perfectly fine. I have the iQuad and it will not come up on my WiFi connections.... when I shut off the key And pull it out my dash dummy lights stay on (Abs, CEL, low fuel, etc) I think this is why my batteries died but when I unplug the adr they all go off. Is my box fried? I pulled it out of t…

Hey guys, I didnt want to clog up my intro thread with my questions. Just want to get some clarification as this is my first Cummins. 1. My radiator is about half full of what looks like green coolant. Obviously I need to add more but can I just add green coolant from the parts store? Supposedly some the the Auto Zone coolants have the Cummins logo on the bottle, I will have to check. 2. I need to change my fuel filter, looks like it is on the drivers side of the engine correct? Does that cap unscrew and the filter just pull out? 3. Where can I find a fuse diagram as well as a wiring diagram. My fan for the climate control does not work, no matter what speed I turn to not…

Good day all. I have a friend with an Edge CTS and the wiring harness socket failed in the back of his monitor & re-soldering failed to work even with a new harness. Does anyone know if any CTS monitor, no matter the vehicle, will work (with obviously the correct rear plug)? I would think the brain is in the under hood Edge box and the monitor is only just that: a monitor. Thank you very much.

I've got the fooler into the dash and all put back together. Wires coiled under steering wheel. The hole I want to go through, the connectors won't fit through. I've got my fuel pressure line already going through it. It would simplify my life greatly to cut off all 4 connectors, thread it through the firewall and then reconnect the connectors. Do you see any problems with that? How tight are the wire length? Will this cause additional resistence in the wires and mess with the operation of the fooler?

Hi guys, I've been lurking and learning on many forums. I got my truck back in August of '10, but I've learned slowly along the way. I love the truck and know there are things I'm needing to do to it, but I got hurt and sadly it took a back seat to so many things and then other stuff came up. I'm trying to catch up. I've got a leak inside that I noticed. There is a streak on the rear glass where it runs down. There is a little brown staining on the headliner on the passenger side. I don't know if there is a possible seam breach just back of the door on the roof, or if (in my opinion more likely) the cargo light that is on the back of the cab is leaking. If …

Can anyone confirm if my data link wires are spliced correctly? I spliced the wire from truck wiring yellow/blue line with the solid blue wire(B) in the quad data link harness. I then spliced the other wire from truck wiring yellow/green line with the solid green wire(A) in the quad data link harness. There was also a black wire (truck wiring side) but i did not wire that to anything. On the quad harness there was a 3 prong connector labeled A,B,C. A was solid green wire. B was solid blue wire. C was no wire. Also I dont think it has anything to do with what I have done but my speedometer does not work now. I really need to …

Hey y’all, I’m looking into upgrading my charger after I get my head studs and valve springs done in the near future. With the fuel I have right now I don’t think I will need any larger injectors to get in the mid to upper 500’s. So my only question is what are y’all running as far as chargers go from 5-600hp on VP44 trucks? I’m making upwards of 450 right now with a 61.5 HX40 so I’m thinking a 64/71/14 or something along those lines would work good. But I also daily drive it and want somewhat drivability with a big single. Thanks.
