So, I've been playing around with my quadzillas daily driving tune and I'm trying to get rid of the excessive smoke and heat. I'm currently running a set of DDP 100hp injectors( I know they are smokey and can run hot) and they are next on the list of items to fix( going to swap the nozzles and reset POP to 310) I think these injectors are popped at 280 from DDP which should retard the timing... correct?. But until i have time and money to do that, i need to try and adjust the tune. I'm also running a 60/67/12 HX35, BHAF, 4in exhaust. EGTs are about 800 cruising at 70mph, which seems high and it is still pretty smokey when pulling away from a light. Below is the tune …

  2. Hey guys first post here so hoping this thread is in the right spot. I swapped a 2000 24v and 47re into my 06 f250 over the winter, rebuilt the engine and recently the trans. I put pdd 6x.014 sac injectors in it with .093 injector tubes. So pump. Sxe 364.5/73/83 turbo on it. I have the quadzilla adrenaline v2 on it. I’m having a hard time building a daily tune that has decent power and doesn’t smoke a bunch or have high egts. Do you guys think it’s my injector/turbo setup or my tuning? Any help is appreciated

I have compounds HX35 over S471 7x12 injectors hot rodded VP44 with a fass. I just bought a quadzilla adrenaline what are the best daily and fuel saver tunes available

  4. I'm asking this in light of the recent fuel price spikes. I don't mind paying extra for fuel because I didn't buy a 3500 dually for milage but, out of curiosity if a person were looking for mainly mpg gains would the quad investment be worth it? Last I looked they are fetching about $700 new. That would be a large investment for some people (me included at the moment). Thoughts? Thanks!

Driving in to work this morning I mashed the go pedal and let her run to test the new tune. The yellow warning band showed up, so I backed off. I 'swiped up' so I could see some of the other data, and ran again. But, can't watch the tiny numbers and drive, too! Is there a quick way to figure out which parameter is throwing the warning without using Data Collection? Just swap around what gauges are shown? Shouldn't have been EGT, and "boost" was less than 25 PSI (as reported by MAP sensor - no standalone gauge yet). Quad doesn't see lift pump, and pressure was good anyway.

  6. Hi everyone as I'm relatively new to this I would like to say thanks for the add I have been researching on making a standalone controller for my 351 vgt I was going the lilbb route but the website no longer works you can't buy anything and cannot register to ask in their forum and I seen the write-up in this form which is very detailed and thorough but my main question is has anyone done it here that still runs it and did you run lbb's box or build your own? I'm looking for the breadboard to build the lbbs box cause I have everything to solder it into it

Hey, just got a quick question about the quadzilla and emissions testing for anyone that might know, I'm sure it's been covered somewhere but?? Just got a emissions test notice in the mail, I live in the big city of Boise Id. were I guess they need all the extra revenue they can get! (At least it's not Cali. ....yet!) Anyhow, first year with the quad, is there anything special I need to do, or a particular setting to satisfy the test? Set to stock? Does it even matter? Do they even care it's on there? Just some questions I hadn't really considered till now. Thanks!

Ok, so I finally got my truck back on the road after having to get another injection pump. Hopefully nothing else major goes wrong. At this point, I've replaced every major thing that could go wrong (minus the pcm and ecm). But I digress. My latest problem is whenever I drive the truck, if I don't have the tuner set on a higher level, it bucks, sputters, and blows white smoke. I'm 95% sure it's tuning related. I'm getting great fuel pressure and flow, and my injectors have all new tips (I rebuilt and pop tested them myself at school), and seals. I'm not sure if my specs are in my profile, but here they are again: FASS 150gph pum…

  9. Started by LorenS,

Does anyone have good knowledge of what the turbo angles should be? As best as I could estimate on my truck with the current turbo installed (due to rust, certain components will be destroyed upon removal - and I don't have a spare vehicle right now) it seems: the exhaust manifold mounting flange is 48 degrees (measured from horizontal). EDIT: May be closer to 50 degrees based on my truck, after removing turbo for better measurement. The compressor outlet is "around" 20 degrees from horizontal. EDIT: I'd say I would up more around 25 degrees or a little steeper to keep everything very well aligned and no stress on the rubber boot. I would l…

  11. Hello fellow diesel fans! I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 with a 5.9 Cummins. It is stock besides some kind of fuel system modification that returns fuel to the tank if it detects to much fuel is being injected.( Not sure what it’s called). I’ve been researching if a cold air intake is worth it. To me it just looks like a rerouted air filter. But mechanics and other car guys are talking like it’s the king of diesel parts or something. Honestly, I would just take out the stock air routing and just do a direct air filter mount to the turbo. But mechanics are saying it’s bad for the engine. I’m confused please help. Thanks! color copies for low cost at 55 printing

  12. Anyone have as much trouble as I have with these Quadzillas? Driving to work today and mine died and lost communication and wont come back on anymore. Checked my fuses to it and they're all good, even replaced them and still nothing. I have power all the way to it and even ignition communication and still not a peep. Really tired of all this, last time I sent it in I had to pull Quadzilla's leg to even look at in WITHIN warranty. Anyone know of any other custom tuning options for these trucks? Really tired of replacing a box every year. Thanks!

Bought new in 1998, been tweaking ever since. Engine rebuilt for it's 20th birthday in November 2019. Dyno runs with a Smarty/TST stack June 2020, with 596hp/1150tq. Been lurking and have multiple pages of notes from this site and others, have done several tunes. I'm an ex-sportscar racer and we would do practice runs the 1st day, email every run to our Motec guy, and would re-load before every session to dial in the cars. Decided that was what I was after for my truck, and found TJ at OneBadVP44Performance. Flew him in, spent 2 hours on the dyno. His initial tune from my build sheet was 12 hp off what got for max. 683hp/1311tq. The way I saw this was I've spe…

So I was out fiddling with the quad yesterday and set to level zero, my idle shot up to a little over 1200, basically high idle mode and instantly set off engine light. Truck was already up to temp. I could toggle back and forth and everytime I got to zero idle would shoot up, above zero it would go back down. Code was 0500, 1693 (ABS code?) Something similar happened a few months ago with that code and quad and me78569 promptly jumped in and assured me that was impossible! Well I'm here to tell you it is! I thought it worked itself out with that code awhile back, but here it is again and I'm sure it's iquad related. Even made sure to turn …

I recently received my new Quadzilla Adrenaline from DAP, and I’ve been doing a lot of reading on this site, watching videos on YouTube, and I downloaded the Excel tune builder and have been playing with that. I’m very excited to learn and to start tuning the truck. I’m coming from a 12 year old edge juice with attitude that stays on level 3 with the low boost fueling on 1 all the time. I have used the tune builder to build starting point tow and daily driver tunes based on my elevation and injector size. I know it is going to take some time with the truck and the load it will be carrying to get the tow tune dialed in right. My main question is, for the tow tune…

Hey guys. I’m trying to get high idle going in my 2000 5.9. I have the moparman switch but I have to get it enabled. I took it to the dealership to get it done and $180 later it didn’t work. I’m from Canada so I can’t rent an s03 from dap. Any of you guys in Canada have an s03 you’re willing to rent to me or even you guys in the US? Or have a software number I can tell the dealer to install ? Thanks in advance, I’m in quite the Perdicament here

In my 01 Sport Cummins HO 6 speed 4x4, I have 3.55 gears, 295/70R18 tires, 4" full exhaust system (no muffler), stock HX35, AFE intake horn, older EJWA, S & B air filter setup, Industrial Injection HO VP, and Airdog 165 LP/filtration system, stock HO injectors. I do have DAP 100 HP injectors to put back into it when I receive them back from DAP. They are new but I sent them back and they found that two of them were at 302-303 bar instead of 310-312 bar, which was causing my idle to be a little bit lopey like a muscle car camshaft. In 6th gear on cruise control running 60 mph, my EGTs are running around 650 - 715. Is that normal or high? I don't…

  19. Started by White wondee,

My first time posting in here. I don’t know if I’m posting in the correct section or not so, my apologies if I’m not. I need some enlightenment from the knowledge you guys have. I’m looking to get around 475-525 hp. I currently have a fass 165, quadzilla adrenaline with comp tunes, all necessary gauges and a S&B intake. The turbo I have my eye on is a Smeding SM-S362-68-14CM. What I’m wondering is what size injectors I’m gonna need to fuel that turbo and keep the EGTs reasonable. Truck is a 2000 24 Valve auto. Thanks. Thinking of this turbo because it’s fairly easy to get here in Canada

Just when I think I've come up with a logical solution to what's not really a problem, I see that Robert Bosch's company has beat me to it. http://www.dieselmechanic.info/common-rail/bosch-common-rail-system-intercooler-bypass.html However, I think mine would be operated by a choke cable, and maybe later an additional IAT sensor and a stepper motor.
