  1. I'm sorry but I lost my faith in dealers and shops long ago. The only shop my truck with see is a tire shop and alignment rack. Beyond that I do my own work on the truck. But that was totally just a botched job there and someone really didn't care. Glad you found the problem and took care of it properly.
  2. Update: I notice the postal lady can by this evening in her other car. Now I stop by this evening and check the error codes the P0420 is gone. But now replaced by a P0130 code... But both oxygen sensors have been replaced already. http://www.obd-codes.com/p0130
  3. Well that little car came by today and delivered the mail and kept heading north. I'll find out more later on today.
  4. Hold up... Time to chill out... (Closed.)
  5. No. Not really. All the PSG is encased in plastic and the actual heat sink is downward into the fuel not upwards to the air. So adding a heat sink and blower won't do much because if the fuel is 140*F its got direct contact with the aluminum plate that is in contact with the electronics. Food for thought. I'm up here in Idaho seeing temps above 110*F in the summer and well in the minus numbers in the winter. My VP44 has no cooler on it and been running just fine since 2004 when it was replaced at 50k miles. Currently has 232k on the clock.
  6. Go back and re-look at my post added much more to the post... (Sorry last minute thoughts...) http://forum.mopar1973man.com/index.php?/topic/8719-smoking-trucks-coal-rollers/page-2#entry94411
  7. Yeah... guilty as charged. But I figure I would share the impact of what some Moron's are doing to affect the laws that might be passed against us. Which seems to be the stem of this thread. Which I do but don't because this does impact the diesel owner directly. As for Rancherman's post http://forum.mopar1973man.com/index.php?/topic/8719-smoking-trucks-coal-rollers/page-2#entry94375 Just a bit borderline. More of hijack than to the topic. Which is true there is no bickering like I see at other sites. There is no personal attacks or pointing fingers yet...
  8. Well after the spark plug change and a short test drive the CEL light stayed off so far and she is going to test drive it tomorrow on the mail route. This little Subaru has well over 300k miles (second engine) and does about 134 miles per day delivering mail out here. We'll see I'll keep you posted.
  9. I've got a local 2003 Subaru Impresa 2.5L here that has a P0420. http://www.obd-codes.com/p0420 What I've done. New Fuel Filter Both up and down stream oxygen sensors New spark plugs I've just finished the spark plugs and the owner just left for a test drive. I'm asking if anyone has any other ideas.
  10. Pretty... (Side note) Picture resizing isn't require the forum software will do that automatically. (Or it should!)
  11. There is all kind of OBDII port extension cords, Y cords, etc. I'm sure a bit of Google time will find what your looking for.
  12. I've been saying this all long. The fact we are going around the same circle as we did back in the late 60's with muscle cars and now doing it all over again with diesel trucks.
  13. I bet the old steering box was loose in the sector adjustment.
  14. I'm glad you got it fixed and got to enjoy somme of the beauty around you. But I'm going to have to ask for some pictures...
  15. Tire balance and shocks are typically the big ones.
  16. A lot of people voicing about accidents motorcycle vs. car/truck. I'm also one that had a few bad accidents motorcycle vs. car. I would have to agree like out here its getting pretty bad with idiots on the road passing on double yellows and with on coming traffic. I'd rather ride my ATV up a forestry road at a nice slow 20-35 MPH. I truly feel bad that anyone has to get hurt doing something enjoyable like riding motorcycles. It's a experience everyone should enjoy at least once.
  17. Absolutely... As long as you add some grease or anti-seize you shouldn't have any problems.
  18. Most vendors still sell RV275 injectors new. So just select a vendor and contact them for a price. I chose Vulcan Performance for mine but instead of RV275's I got the +50HP because of a better price. (+10 HP more was a bonus...)
  19. Yeah not much for tail grass but steep embankments that they come hauling up in a hurry. For my neighborhood you typically get a feel for where they are hanging out. Certain homes and mountain slopes to gain access to water. Like its rare but still possible to meet up with a deer in the evening hours hiking all the way down the mountain to get to water. I would have to admit that W&F is right about hitting then dead on. Especially broadside is best. But still even out here it still helps a bunch to just slow down at night. During the day your pretty good rare chances of deer being out now most have move from the valley floor and headed for high country where food is plentiful and cooler. As for coverage I've still got full coverage on my diesel truck so if something was to happen I would have the insurance company most likely deal with it.
  20. Sorry to hear about this hopefully he heals up quickly. I'm also a motorcycle rider too. Many many years of riding motorcycles from dirt bikes to full cruisers like a Goldwing. Sad to say the bigger the motorcycle get the easier it is for something to go wrong. I parked my Goldwing because of a overheat issue and never been back on it.
  21. One of the few reason I tend to toss the speed limit out... Because even as of today ITD (Idaho Transportation Dept.) was adding more game crossing signs in my neighborhood. When I got a a front yard like a pasture of course the deer are going to hang out.
  22. Cool! Its always nice to make a few bucks hauling stuff.
  23. I've got my kit sitting in the garage but never done it yet.
