  1. Yes. I've towed even on 5x5. What's really wild is towing up a 6-7% grade set the cruise and then turn the Edge Comp off from 5x5 and watch the pyrometer. It doesn't change. Because the truck has to fuel X amount to pull Y amount of weight up a 6-7% grade so regardless of settings it shouldn't change much from Edge Comp to OFF. With the Edge Comp on 5x3 and towing the RV I've had the rear tires break loose on paint lines on the highway, smooth spot of asphalt, or a bridge seam.
  2. I'm running HX35W Turbo with no issues with +50HP injectors and Edge Comp on 5x3. Normal empty cruising 55-60 MPH is about 2-3 PSI and 550-600*F. Towing at 55-60 MPH with 8,000 pound trailer it floats around 750-900*F no issues. Climbing 6-7% grade I can pull it right at 53-55 MPH and float between 1,000-1,100*F but that being smart and dropping from 5th into 4th gear. I would say turn the Juice up more but I know you got a Automatic.
  3. When you get a chance give me a call and we'll walk through it together.
  4. That's all it does is let the ECM/PCM see the idle to WOT limits and store them that's all.
  5. That the part I hate about RV's by the time you start digging into the walls and ceiling you can uncover a whole lot of sin hiding behind a thin piece of vinyl wallpaper. Hopefully you bind that roof panel back together to insure structural strength.
  6. Just got to look around. I know where all the public scales that leave on the display like one in Horsebend, ID. Or the Shell station in Council, ID just ask the cashier and they write down your weight. Or my other favorite in Grangeville, ID there is a feed store that leave the scale display on 24 hours. I try to check RV/Truck weight twice a year.
  7. Enjoy Dave... LOL! (Yes... I was nice enough to backup your old one!)
  8. There is on just down the road from me...
  9. Stock SO engine produced 235 HP. Stock RV Cummins ISB produced 275 HP (RV275) or roughly +40 HP New nozzles, pop testing and flow matching by the time you do all this it might be cheaper to just buy new injectors.
  10. Last year unofficially we measured 115*F working out on the Rough Creek fire. Miserable time roasting in the heat. Riggins, ID is like a high desert type landscape in away but low enough in elevation to get pretty darn hot. Here at the house I've seen 105*F in mid-summer. More you go up in elevation the cooler it is. So as summer get here I aim to work up in the mountains hauling firewood as much as possible. Last year I started in May there was snow where we were cutting and by the time you hit the valley floor it was time for A/C. Best of both worlds.
  11. I know for daily driving 3" exhaust has no effect to MPG's. Also with a daily driver 3" exhaust is still very controllable with towing the RV or utility trailer.
  12. As soon as mine rots off I'll be heading for a 4" MBRP system as well...
  13. ECM need to be retrained every time any of the above has occurred regardless of Timbo APPS Sensor or OE APPS sensor.
  14. Oh! Damn I can't help with that one. I have a hard enough time trying to fit under the dash for just the clutch rod. But as for the main pivot rod that going to be a bear to deal with.
  15. Be careful about bench vises. I've broke two bench vises doing stuff like that one I broke pressing U-joints back in a driveshaft.
  16. If your not careful I might have to update his Avatar...
  17. Carrier Bearing can be replaced but it has to be pressed off the shaft.
  18. Well I think I gotta put some priority to this project. I've got oil scattered all the way past the transmission now and the truck is losing 2 quarts of oil in 7k miles now. I just changed oil today and man the underside of the truck was a mess. Still not leaking bad enough to drip on the floor but everything is wet with oil. So bringing this topic to the top and going to have to get this done very soon.
  19. Yes... If you... Disconnect the batteries Disconnect the ECM Disconnect the APPS sensor
  20. This is funny... I had to send these back to my Fire Chief and my other Partner... Just too funny...
  21. It can be done by a 12V truck I'm sure many of other trucks can too. http://www.dieselpowermag.com/tech/general/0708dp_1997_dodge_ram_3500_dualie_cummins/viewall.html
  22. Try 110-115*F here in Idaho. I know exactly what you mean. Ugh!
  23. Here check out this video. Right at about 2:20 I show the Clutch Clip.
  24. I would turn up the Edge as much as possible. The highest main level that doesn't cause issues with your transmission and the highest sublevel (low boost setting) without excessive smoke. You could think of trying 2 cycle oil in the fuel (200:1 ratio) so like it and others don't. But typically the lower cetane levels produce better MPG's. Proper tire inflation helps a bunch. http://articles.mopar1973man.com/general-cummins/35-exterior/354-tire-inflation-formula Tonneau cover or a canopy will help a bunch if you can cover the bed of the truck. Another thing if you go the fund is hook up with a Dyno event locally and find out where your torque is at for your current setup. Then you know exact what RPM's does the most work for the buck.
  25. I'll vote for Vulcan Performance for my +50HP I got... Talk to Eric the owner and also let him know I sent you...
