  1. Give the man a cigar. I had to look twice and sure enough it is I70 up north of me... There are some really people up there.
  2. I've done that method but you really got to be careful with the line not to bend them. Also getting the crossover tubes out is a bit tough at times.
  3. What oil filter are you using? You might find that some brands of oil filter have a drain back valve in the filter.
  4. Take a pan of water and boil it on the stove and heat the hose up for about 1 minute and slip it right on the barb fitting no problem. Another way is to put the fitting on the floor and push straight down on to it. Let your body mass do the work.
  5. Correct. It only takes a very small hole for mice to slip through... Touche' I found where mice where getting into my RV at... Not anymore. Mouse free!
  6. Big line kit for that Raptor pump and relocated it under the bed closer to the tank.
  7. I'm only burning 2 bulbs at a time not 4... 2 lo beams ans 2 hi beams... 200 / 14.5 = 13.7 amps
  8. Hmmm... Drill a small hole in it to try to hook it and pull it back out. :think:When you install the new one make sure to put lots of anti-seize on it.
  9. Wait till you throw it on 5x5. It a whole new animal. I'm playing with 5x3 and the torque curve is so aggressive now that a soon as the turbo lights so do the tires in 2nd and 3rd gears. :burnout2:DieselAutoPower has always been the best vendor with the best price I've seen.
  10. John, have you heard anything about UDC for 2nd gens? Ive not seen anything from Mads about the possibility of this, but I sure would love it if they did! The difference between Juice and Comp is toyz and gauges. The tune software is the same. 5 Main levels with 5 sublevels (3 defuel and 2 power).
  11. Wow. Back to the chasing mice again. There has to be something you could put up inside the HVAC or cowling that would deter mice from wanting to enter. I know the screen idea. There has to be something out there mice absolutely hate that you could put in the vents or something.
  12. Ok Gang... I've got a video clip of MoparMom stacking firewood. Now before you press play on the video remember this is a TIME LAPSE video and you might want to put down you coffee cup or beverage before you do. Things might get rather messy for your computer. Also I was on the other side of the pile creating a second huge pile of firewood so I was out of the video mostly. Oh yeah that trailer holds 1.5 cords to the top of the boards. http://youtu.be/V78Cs1W0jsM
  13. This should help... http://youtu.be/28cdIPJwDC4
  14. ScanGauge II was re-calibrated again on the 5x3 so I'm showing true numbers once again.
  15. Well I know my truck came factory with 265's but I still thing they are oversized. Like my door tag shows I'm suppose to have 245's for a stock tire. Just like my 96 Dodge shows it stock size is 245's as well but came with 235's. But still in all 265's are just heavier than I need for my application.Yes. The Edge Comp modifies the ECM signals for timing and fueling based on boost pressure. So its modified through the CANBus an the wire tap. This is where I would love to have EFI Live or Smarty to make corrections to the timing more so than fueling.
  16. I gather concrete... :doh:Yeah then I would consider it. Like I got to spray a little Zep on the floor of the shop and run a mop over the spot.
  17. That might be true but the fact the fuel is already pre-heated on the manifold all it needs is a spark to ignite the fuel. You would have a nice un-hood fire. Personally I don't like the idea of diesel fuel pre-heated to 180-190*F which is well above flash point waiting to be ignited.
  18. Volume and pressure stability. With smaller ID plumbing you get wilder pressure swings up and down. Mainly because Bosch VP44 injection pump requires 70% of all fuel to be return to the tank for cooling and lubing reasons. So this means even with a stock fuel system you would need a supply volume of roughly 70-90 GPH. So the stock plumbing is only rated for 75 GPH but that with 0 PSI at the Bosch VP44 Injection pump and 15 PSI at the lift pump. So the increase in ID of the lines aids in pressure stability so like on my truck I start at 19 PSI at idle and 17 PSI at WOT. With the old stock lines it would start at 15 PSI and fall to 8 PSI. So you got to remember the larger line isn't for the 30% being burned but for the 70% that required for cooling and lubing.
  19. So who's going to start biodiesel plant? Oh that means someone has to come back to the main land for methanol. Sure make a lot of soap with the waste products.
  20. That why I will always suggest you at least try to get out of the blowing wind or park in a enclosed area. At leas then you heat is not wasted to extreme cold outside. Like both garages here are unheated so If the temp got down cold I would plug in the trucks while parked the shop. At least now the heat not wasted outside but heating a garage. 750W heater is still a heater regardless if it household appliance or a block heater.
  21. I'm following the same MPG's basically with a small change in driving style.
  22. Well I'm now really going for the gold now. I've managed to reduce from 5x5 to 5x3 on the Edge Comp and keep 20 MPG now. Certainly different driving style is required. Now for those that are not owners of Edge products let me throw this out. Edge Comp and Edge Juice are both have the same in software basically. They both have 5 main levels and 5 sublevels. MAIN LEVELS [*]40 HP [*]60 HP [*]80 HP [*]100 HP [*]120 HP SUBLEVELS [*]33% of stock fueling/timing till 20 PSI of boost [*]50% of stock fueling/timing till 15 PSI of boost [*]67% of stock fueling/timing till 10 PSI of boost [*]Some Extra fuel at 0 PSI of boost [*]Full fuel and Timing at 0 PSI of boost Now you got to remember I got winter time temps, my oversize tires 265's, and the tune of 5x3. Now I've changed over to the 5x3 and continued driving like I did previously and saw the MPG drop to nearly 16-18 MPG range. I relized that the timing curve was not available with low boos that I normal see of 1.5 to 3 PSI which is well below 10 PSI limit of the defuel mode of the Edge. So today figure I change driving style a bit and see if I could gain it back. Since my trip to McCall, ID is all up hill from home to McCall, ID all I did was left it 4th gear (NV4500) and set the cruise for 55 MPh as usual. This put my tach upwards of 2,100 RPM's and boost about 7-9 PSI the whole way up. Seems to gain slightly on the way up by the time I hit McCall, ID I had just barely touched on 15.9-16.0 MPG on the ScanGauge II. So now light foot around town and scratch up a few more tenths of MPG. Then on my way home I used 5th gear let the truck just roll down hill basically. By the time I hit the yard I was at 20.5 MPG. This is still experimental stag and I'm going to continue learning and testing to see if I can get the most of this tune. More to come... PS: Oh... I forgot to mention that with this tune I've got way more torque now and been having trouble even with my 265's tires. In 2nd and 3rd gears I just got to plant the pedal to the floor and the turbo lights and so do the tires.
