  1. I would personally get an adjustable one, things aren't going to be in same place as they were 16 years ago. Centering axle under trucks frame makes more sense to me then lifting body high enough to get track bar in.
  2. Well I sure hope mine are not going to wear out that fast. I'm guessing when you press them in you did it the right way and pressed on the right spot. I just changed mine and my uppers were as solid as can be, and lowers had a little play up and down, but a new ball joint also has a little up and down. I got mine from Sadler Power Train and they rebuilt a lot of axles, I wouldn't think they would be selling them if they were going out that fast. At least I hope not. But hey my truck is all antiseezed now, should only take a few minutes to do it next time, I like disassembling my truck on monthly basis.
  3. Nasa=nasholes, it's from George Carlin quote
  4. Talk to nasholes, they'll set you up. And that's all I'm going to say.
  5. Have you tried hot-wiring vp44 to see if it starts
  6. I got it off Craigslist locally and then send it to Florida https://autocomputerspecialist.com to program it to my truck and enable 3/6cyl high idle. So first they told me I had a problem with pcm, but after I explained them again and again that my truck is fine with original ECM they said then there's something internally wrong and need to be fixed. I'm going to talk to the guy that part out the truck and see if he can remember anything, I know the engine had a knock like a rod knock so not sure if it's related to ecm.
  7. It's 3 months off on built date, it ran fine for few days and then decided to give me a code. Some suggested looking into wireing and few other things but I knew it was in ECM so I put my original one in and no problems. I'll keep it for a spare and hope I never need it. Just wanted to have it working properly before I put it away. Not a big deal, worse case I can still use it, just no tach.
  8. I was wondering about that but for some reason I didn't say anything. Looking at the picture of a seal there was nothing on RockAuto for a 99 but 00-02 did show it, but the number is 35639, the number you posted is for 03 and up
  9. How hard is it to get to 3 gear synchros, or at that point might as well change everything ?
  10. I keep telling myself that, almost starting to believe it.
  11. Sorry I didn't mean to bring this in a sad way, I was just kidding as usual because I remember you saying something about it in past.
  12. Premium blue is what I've been running in 8 generators I service once a year at work, did few oil samples never had anything out of ordinary. I've used it in my truck few times too. Might just start using it again when my senpeco runs out.
  13. Wonder if he ever had pistons out, I do believe he did work on the head?
  14. Plenty of second gens out there if you get tired of payments, plus you know everything about them.... some day I might know what if feels like to drive a 4th gen when new trucks will be levitating over pot holes and rough terrain I see it coming in next 20 years. So far no one reinvented the wheel yet same 4 wheels on the ground for over 100 years, but that will take fun out of going down minimum maintenance roads and just everything else, like Google maps with satellite view, before we went on an adventure and now you can see that you'll end up in someone's back yard before you get there, Should have told then with little elbow grease it will be a classic in few years. And for the 02, I'm pretty sure someone is getting buried in it....
  15. You hit that one on the head, I just changed perfectly good ball joints when I was doing wheel bearings. Uppers were still solid and lowers just a bit of play up and down, but what do you know new joints also have a little play not as much but still do, so yeah they could of lasted a while yet. But on good note my ABS light is staying off Intentions are definitely for longetivity, I just can't seem to stay clean long enough I bought mine used, that's all I could afford and now I'm happy I didn't spend more on 3rd gen, I'm skipping that one all together and will keep mine as long as I can. Now 4th sounds good until you start considering what else comes with it. If I'm ever reach to where I can trade a truck whenever I fill like and still do things to it while I own it then I'll probably get something new, just can't seem to see it in my near future At the same time I don't need anything else and pretty happy with what I have. Plenty for people that put 1000000 miles and more on these trucks, so I'm not too worried
  16. I noticed my phone is slow to update posts sometimes. Like I went through and seen latest posts and 30min later it will say that there are posts I haven't seen that are hours old already. Something to do with mobile app I'm guessing
  17. Thank, but I think it has more to do with ecm then anything else, like it's not talking to pcm for whatever reason, that's why I thought if programming had anything to do with it. I paid 150 to have it programmed to my truck and when I called them back about the issue they said it was something internal with ecm and I had to send it in again and pay another 150 to fix it. So I'm just wondering if it's in programming or hardware.
  18. Yeap, we're finally on to something here
  19. @Chris O. quick question, sorry OP for sidetrack. I have a spare ECM that I had reprogrammed for my VIN number, everything worked fine for a few days and then I lost tachometer and got a p1698 so I swapped back to original ECM and all the problems went away. is this a hardware issue in ECM or did the programming had something to do with it. Because the code says no bus message received from PCM
  20. I think that's why @TFaoro rebuild his engine due to clean dirty oil. I don't think I ever figured out why he did rebuild it, other than that.
  21. You can use these to get by for a while and I mean a while https://barsleaks.com/product/radiator-stop-leak-tablets/
