  1. first thing would be check for blow by, pull oil fill cap when engine running. see if it's chuggin like a train. next i think there is a trim code for the new injectors. but i've only heard of this i know nothing about it.
  2. I think it's a standard 1/14 fuel head, right now it has the 5320 on it. It's mounted under the cab just in front of the t-case. Sorry bout my sig, it's kinda out of date.
  3. so i have the filter spread sheet pic that AH64ID had from a few years ago. it's a bit out dated. so i'm after the current list. right now i run the oil LF 9028 fuel f5320 fuel baldwin 7977 as one can see i like the better line of filters. i usually run valvoline 15/40 and or 5/40 pending what's on sale. i only run till about 7500 miles. my thoughts are going with. DBL7349 ff5814 if i can find one. P553203/553207 so what's the best ones to get today. thanks for any thoughts you feel like sharing.
  4. rough idle? any codes? how about blowby? have you checked that?
  5. Where you find this for 200$
  6. I'd have to add, my 02 vs my 04 at speed sounds the same, nice and quiet. Idle however different story. Agreed the v10 are amazing engines. Just as long as your happy with it. That's what matters in the end.
  7. he'll get tired of the 10 MPG's and return. maybe to a 3rd gen.
  8. don't these need to have a certain EGT to keep them clean? don't they start to collect carbon build up under a sustained EGT?
  9. subscribed, i also have this slight vibration over 2K. want to see results and how hard it is to install. thanks.
  10. I'm thinking the truck is dogleging, the placement where they are has worn in tbe tires. When rotated they are trying to rewear in. Just a thought to add. Alignment
  11. mine has a solar panel that sets in the dash. works great for the boat. or truck when it wasn't being driven. i kinda hacked it together from an old solar flood light. it hasn't cooked mine yet. food for thought.
  12. i'd get a comb for the AC condenser. then use some cardboard to protect it while working on the truck., else looks AWESOME!!!! talk about a labor of love.
  13. The way i do my alignment is as fallows. 4 jack stands. at each corner of the vehicle. string running from rear to front about 8" out from the rim and lifted to half the height of the tire. on on each side of the vehicle. then measure the front and back of the rear rim. move the front jackstand so the rear measurement is equal. so string is square to the rear rim. do this on both sides. then measure the front rims, adjust tow accordingly. usually about 1/8" tow in per side. works everytime for me. make sure to lock your steering wheel centered.
  14. one more question, where is this check ball.? i'd like to remove it as well. i always let my truck run in neutral for a round 2 min every morning to get things lubed before take off.
  15. What does turning the brass around backwards do? and the little pin thing in the middle.. can you explain WHY doing the aforementioned steps fixes it...
  16. TOMORROW after work i'ma take mine apart!! thank you for this. my trans run at same temp as engine. just slower getting there.
  17. i still have some R12.
  18. no. i installed the BHAF, i know you hate them for the CR. but my stock box is cracked and im unsure if it's making a good enough seal. but i did the BHAF at 190K well before the first and or second oil changes with lab tests. glad to see my silicone went down but worried about the potassium... that has me freaking out. i must add i'm rather displeased with blackstones turnaround times. i sent this sample off over 3K miles ago. a month and a half ago. IMO Way to long to have to wait for results.
  19. please advise. thanks.
  20. are those trans temp correct? 150-155? mine runs 190 according to my edge almost even with the engine temp. do i have a problem?
  21. last week i went on vacation in colorado. i drove from Flagstaff AZ, to cortez then rico, camped a night then headed to Silverton by way of Telluride. with the wife, 2 kids and dog. the trailer if around 13K with my Can-Am Commander in the back. headed up i get just over 10 mpg curze set at 68. headed home i got 11.3 mpg. wife drove half way home at around 55-60 mph. im an 04 auto, 48re with 285-70-17 tires. i tried the edge on 2 (tow) and off. i saw zero difference in MPG's most of the time i have the edge off and used it for gauges.
  22. could always make a J-hook like i did. it kept my 02 around 30 psi.
  23. thanks everyone for the input. no one in town has these studs (figures).
  24. i'm what some would call hillbilly deluxe. i don't have 200$ for a press. but i do have a mini sledge that works great. and i know how to use extra lug-nuts to seat the new lugs. is it the best way? maybe not, will it work just fine. i'm sure it will. ive never had issue with it in all the vehicles I've done it to. i suppose i could use my log splitter as a press as i did for my OD unit rebuild a few months back. but i'll try my way first. my original question was weather these where the thread in type. where you have to lock two nuts together and tighten them in.
  25. I do 125, unless my torque wrench is way off.
