Purchasing my first Travel Trailer need advice
test drive it in the driveway. camp out for a weekend in the driveway or back yard. You might learn alot about what you need and or are missing. what you don't need. etc. and no cheating and going into the house.

I have a Smarty to play with for a couple days
i thought the s03 only added like 65 HP, the different levels was how fast it got there. weather it's all down low in the RPM or at the top it's still only 65 i thought.

Purchasing my first Travel Trailer need advice
I think i coined the phrase "make some memories" first. as i had it on the back of my boat once. "Makin Memories" and then my older RV had Memory Maker. on it. my old Jeep had "take off ur top" painted on the tailgate. worked like a charm by the way.

Charging a/c
you can rent the vacuum pumps, thats the best way to do it. if however you cant find one. use the center line on the gauges and hook it up to a vacuum line on a running engine. that will vacuum it down. you don't want to just charge it. make sure you put a vacuum on it. the more you open the system the more you'll want to make sure you vacuum it down. for a proper charge. without pulling it down your pressures will be off. they will be a lot higher and not provide the correct cooling. you happen to own the Slippery Rock Fall in River Ranch do you? we will be camping up there again this year last week in july. maybe first of august.

Bio Diesel?
why did fuel prices just jump $0.12 today?

Charging a/c
do you have a service manual? you'll want one. how about a vacuum pump? or are you just goin to hook it up to the vacuum on your intake? there should be a sticker under the hood with the amount of Freon it holds. as for the pressures on the gauges that depends on the outside air temp while charging. i think your the first person i've met that live in Dolores, awesome little town, we had a ranch in Cortez 180 acres, we still camp up just south of Rico in the old ball field every year.

Purchasing my first Travel Trailer need advice
Congrats!!! i have a 3 foot level i keep in my trailer, they'll try and sell you a fancy electric one. but i've never had one be accurate. i have several 2x6's for leveling the trailer as well. you'll want some black water tank stuff. (my brain just stopped) to treat the black water. a drain hose with clean out elbow. it's where you attach a hose to flush the tank and hose out. we have a patio mat. it's nice and we have indoor carpet runners for the floor so help keep the dirt down. i also have a charcoal water filter for filling my fresh water tank. goes on end of hose. make sure hose is white. and rated for drinking water. as for winterizing it. we get RV antifreeze in our sinks P-trap, then open the drain valves for the water tanks and lines everything will drain, get the propane tanks filled. we have a gauge on our tanks to tell us how full they are. as for a TV, we use 2 element TV's from Walmart, one for the main room and one for our bedroom. They are 99$ a piece, and are a 12V tv but come as a 115V. you can cut and make an adapter to 12V lighter adapter, towels, dishes, silverware organizer, time to go use it, Make some memories.

Nothing to worry about?
my 02 did that as well. normal. those sure were the best sounding cummins engines. ahh i miss that sound.

Flipped axles
Mike it really isn't that hard. i didn't watch the video maybe i should. i flipped all my trailers axles took about 2 hours with my 10 year old helping me. as for making them strait. i used a tape and go to the tongue. each side should match. then you'll want to make sure your spring hanger on the trailer is in good order. i've seen several brake off. i weld a cross piece or some might think of it as a fish plate on mine to help stiffen it up. it's more an issue on heavier trailer like toy haulers. something i didn't see them do was put a torpedo level on the old spring perch. if this was for a small flat bed you don't have to weld new perches just role the axle around and over. i did that on my 5x10 flatbed and no tracking issues or tire ware issues either.

Rain leaking inside walls...
you glue the fiberglass to the underlying wood panel with contact cement, then were they join together i used fiberglass embedded bondo, let dry then hit with palm sander. it still awaits paint. but it's smooth. and didn't crack at hunting season.

Rain leaking inside walls...
water leaks are tough. we've had issues on ours. this what happens when siding comes off at 60 mph. the discovery. more discovery and rebuild. almost finished up. we used Big stretch under the fiberglass, and http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/dicor-non-sag-lap-sealant-bright-white/32129 for the corners and windows. no more leaks so far. as you can see the highly suggested eturnabond or bitchathane tape did little to stop the leak. and it's a PAIN to remove and clean off.

Batteries 12v or 6v
i too have two 6 volt batteries. they last longer on low amp draw, but if you are watching TV and a bunch of light the 12V have a higher output. just not for long. so i have a hybrid system. 2 6V and a 12 volt deep cycle. they seem to work great together. i also have a 150 watt solar panel, it'll almost keep up. pending how much we are in the trailer. we have a built in generator that we rarely use, trailer is an 01 and it has 190 hours on it.

Get Out Of That Truck & HELP!!!!!!
i've read several books on Grays anatomy. i'll always stop. just because there is a crowd of people doesn't mean they have a clue.

Get Out Of That Truck & HELP!!!!!!
This is a very delicate situation. i've been traveling the roads for a long darn time. and i've seen and attempted to help in many accidents. I have also had several people die in my arms. as i'm trying to comfort them and keep other people at bay. these are images and memories that can never leave. and keep me up at night at times. wonder if i could or should have done something different. now don't get me wrong, i'll always stop. i'll always offer my assistance. once the professionals arrive i leave it to them. i've watched motorcycles crash, the poor lady had no idea that she was dead just didn't know it yet. i was the only one on scene for 3 minutes. with no cell signal. i held her hand and told her it was ok. that the people she loved and that loved her would be ok. her husband was on the other side of the freeway trying to get his bike to run to go for help. he came back to her already passed. i've watched a train take a car for a ride. and trying to keep my wife and kids from seeing the images they need not see is n't easy. it's hard to explain to them that they don't want to see that. thy don't understand what they might see. and that it will stay with them for ever. helicopter crashes, body parts in the trees. stuff that doesn't' leave your mind. so i say this. if you can't or don't think you can handle these images for the rest of your life then be very careful who you stop n help. maybe just stay in the truck and call for help. My wife says i have a gift of being at the right place at the wrong time. i have watched over 30 accidents happen either in front of me or in my mirrors. and i've driven up on more then 12 where i was the first person to arrive, it just so happened i was in that part of the woods or desert that day. i've had 6 people take their last breath in my arms, 2 die on the way to the hospital. please take care your choices on the road at an accident.
