blowing fuses.
so i can't for the life of me find out why im popping fuses in my TT. it's odd. it's the main power fuse, only a 30 amp... seems light to me. but when it pops there in no lights, no radio, the trailer is dead unless plugged in or generator running. no battery operated things work. i've traced wires no shorts. it pops sometime after i start the generator to charge the batteries. when i shut the generator off, the trailer is dead, i replace that fuse. all is fine again... and it's only when i start the gen from inside, if i use the button on the gen it's self it doesn't pop the fuse. and the wire seems oddly small for being the main power for the whole trailer, i'm guessing here, maybe 8-10 ga. wire. if that's the case where the heck do the 4 and 2 gauge wires go that also come off the batteries. i'll take pics when it stops snowing. the whole reason for asking is we warm up the trailer for the wife to wrap/store presents in. thoughts and ideas are welcome.

getting neutral
Mike you tend to mom, i found these but they are not working.. maybe i'm not giving it enough time. 1. Bring the vehicle to a complete stop, with the engine running. Firmly apply the parking brake. 2. Shift the transmission to NEUTRAL. 3. Press and hold the brake pedal. 4. Depress the clutch pedal on a manual transmission. 5.• With manual shift transfer case, shift the transfer case lever into NEUTRAL (N). • With electronic shift transfer case, press and hold the transfer case NEUTRAL (N) button. Some models have a small, recessed N button (at the center of the transfer case switches) that must be pressed using a ballpoint pen or similar object. Other models have a rectangular NEUTRAL switch, below the rotary transfer case control knob. The NEUTRAL (N) indicator light will blink while the shift is in progress. The light will stop blinking (stay on solid) when the shift to NEUTRAL (N) is complete. After the shift is completed and the NEUTRAL (N) light stays on, release the NEUTRAL (N) button. 6. Release the parking brake. 7. Shift the transmission into REVERSE. 8. Release the brake pedal (and clutch pedal on manual transmissions) for five seconds and ensure that there is no vehicle movement. 9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 with automatic transmission in DRIVE or manual transmission in first gear. 10. Shift the transmission to NEUTRAL. Firmly apply the parking brake. Turn OFF the engine. For vehicles with Keyless Enter-N-Go, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button until the engine shuts off. 11. Shift the transmission into PARK or place manual transmission in gear (NOT in Neutral). On 8-speed transmissions the shifter will automatically select PARK when the engine is turned off. 12. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, then cycle the key or the Keyless Enter-N-Go button to the RUN position and back to the OFF position. Remove the key fob from the ignition switch. 13. Attach the vehicle to the tow vehicle using a suitable tow bar. 14. Release the parking brake i'll try again tomorrow.

getting neutral
So i have searched and searched. i can't for the life of me find how to get my 08 transfer case into neutral. it has a little button you press with a pen. i've pressed this button and it blinks. i've tried rolling slowly, trans in N, clutch in clutch out. going from 4L to N, 4H to N. no luck. so either my truck has issues, or i do.. neither of i'd be surprised at. thanks.

Can anyone solve my mystery clunk
body mount? shock bushing loose? i had the lower shock bolt fall out of my 04 when i first got it. sounded horrible. i havent read the thread, maybe i should.... ok so i've read the thread.. more thoughts. have you done the PCV re rout? is it hitting the cab? the t-case mounts letting it bump the cab? is your floor shifter? enough clearance? bump stops? wheel bearings?

lets talk some Getrag
not at all how i would have gone about it. but it might work for a while. i would have ground off the old weld. and then either tapped the shaft and sleeved it, or put a pipe covering both. my bet is your fix will break again. Good luck though. let us know how it works.

TIRES
just search treadwrite failures. They are all over the net, toyotas, fords, dodges, jeeps, they have all had problems with them. i'ma fan of Discount tire, i painted his house in PHX az. he's the richest man in the state. anyhow, i might look at the goodyears next round for the 04.

air bags...
So a long awaited update to this. shocks. some *** hat put the wrong length shocks on the truck and what i thought was bottoming out over bumps was the shock topping out and not letting the suspension move up. they were holding the spring in a compressed state. SO that explained the lower stance. I have sense replaced all 4 with Bilstines and what an amazing difference. it now rides close to my 04.

Grossing 16-17k in the Northeast, should I expect more from truck?
my thoughts and input might be off as i dont' have the G56. i've had the smarty S06 and and edge. i only towed with the smarty once and was less then impressed with it's power. but it was clean and cooler running. the tune settings ah64id had me run was a nice boost in performance for sure. i now have the edge JWA. and i have to say i like it. yes it runs hot. i'll NEVER tow on anything above tow setting. even on "stock" setting mine will hit 1323 then slowly drop to 1180 towing LONG like 17 miles long 6% grades. if i was to tow all the time i would go with a smarty. hands down. but sense this truck is now a play toy. i'ma keep the edge as it makes the truck pull SOOOO much harder and i like to embarrass little rice rockets. AS for EFI Live i'd get in touch with Anarchy. i have their tune on my 08 6.7 G56 and what a wold of difference the truck is.

TIRES
i have just over 80K on some cooper AT3's on my toyota. i do love my cooper tires. wood cutting, snow, mud, freeway manners are all very nice. i'll buy the ATP's again, if i don't get the ST maxx's in 255-80-17 for my 04.

TIRES
i don't know about the ko2's yet as i only have about 1500 miles on them. but my last set of bfg's i got 68K out of. these are far and above quieter then the cooper ATP's i had before. but my ATP's also have 53K on them and i'll get an easy 10-15K more. 2 different trucks my 04 has the ATP's and my new to me 08 has the bfg's keep an eye out for promotions. i got a 70$ rebate card and i also got $60 card for using my DT credit card. and i in turn don't let it sit on there, soon as i got the bill i paid it off.
