air bags...
no evidence of a lift. the front looks stock, the truck was a pavement queen. used to commute. far as i can tell Ranch Hand Part# FSD061BL1 is the one i have. i'd love to find someone with a stock bumper and swap them.

air bags...
its not a 4th gen, it's a 08 third gen. 145K miles. i'm measuring the pump stop to axle space. my 04 has 1 7/16 more then the 08 does. i can't even go over speed bumps at a crawl without it bumping hard on the bump stops on the way down the other side of the speed bump. i'm going to order new shocks tonight, 5100 if they will fit without a lift. else the 4600.

air bags...
for the front? my new truck has this hideous ranch hand bumper on it and it sits about 1 1/2 lower then stock. so i was looking for some bags for the front just to lift it about an inch. or what better options should i entertain.

i just gotta say i LOVE this new truck
i now know why every ones loves rowing gears. my 6.7 pulls SO much harder then my 04. now my 04 is no slouch. it'll embarrass some popular sports cars. but this 6.7 w/G56 is a beast. the turbo spools later then i'd like but it amazing to hook up the flat bed and tractor and chug up a hill. awesome. awesome awesome.

rv converter for the batteries.
my converter overheats. i've added a fan to cool it but still over heats when my batteries get to low. SO. could i swap in a good PC power supply? any idea how to wire it... i have one that is capable of 30 amps on a 12V rail and 25A from another... so the sticker says. ideas? or just spend the 120$ on a new converter.

Headlight Bulbs
they can be the same wattage but different temps. as in color temps. and over time the bulb gets yellower and dimmer. i like the 5500K to 6000K temp range. most "stock" lights are in the 4000-4500K yellow temp range.

6.7 EB operation at idle
i've read the 6.7's will activate the EB at idle. i've pushed the button on mine and it never turns on. but when slowing down i can hear it activate with a louder whistle from the exhaust. might it be the efi from anarchy.? is it an air temp thing? coolant temp? i can't seem to find any info in the FSM.

do i need added fuel filtration on my 08?
as we all know the 3rd gens have horrible fuel filtration, so i added a 2u kit. do i need to do the same for the 6.7 in my 08? or had dodge/cummins got it together?

Headlight Bulbs

i got an 08 6.7 need parts.
some of the exhaust pipes say bung and no bung.... so i need them? when i delete the dpf adn cats do i need any of those? any good info on EFI i'm seeing tons and not really knowing what one to go with, someone recommended anarchy but i have no idea really. as for the g56 i don't think i can even get the mobile 50 here. as i've never seen it. i'll keep looking though.

i got an 08 6.7 need parts.
ok i just purchased an 08 2500 mega, manual, i'm going to redelete the truck. you can see they just threw the cat dpf stuff back in. so i want it gone. but i can't find what to get.. one site says 04.5-09, in the title then the description says 04.5-07... https://www.alligatorperformance.com...-dodge-cummins will this work? what do i need to do for the computer side? i'm also looking into the EGR delete seems every one goes with sinister. so i might as well jump on that wagon. again what computer mods need be done. i don't want or need more power. i'm not opposed to gauges and i read that H&S closed doors? is this correct? so i'm not able to see what data is current. what do i need to get to delete this reliably and affordably. i'd like MBRP if i can. else i'm all ears. Oh and what oil in the G56? it'll be changed asap along with the diffs.

to buy or not to buy.
it's clean, i HATE the front bumper though. would rather a stock one. i'll as for carfax tomorrow and go from there. it's 2 hr drive. so i'll be later in the week before i can go test drive it. has two dif tires. driver side has Michelin passenger has bfg trails. so right off i'll be ordering tires. some 255-80-17's i looked at it through the fence today. it look nice, no oil leaks, no visible rust from under that i could see at 6-8' away. the exhaust brake button being worn out worries me that it was a tow pig. http://azcarandtruckcenter.com/InventoryDetail?id=143567BT wife found this one and likes it, i hate that it's lifted and a dully and black, but she likes it. so we have to entertain it as an option as well. http://www.texasdieselstore.com/2011-Ram-3500-SLT---4x4---6-SPEED---MEGA-CAB-Killeen%2C-TX-76541/5939334

to buy or not to buy.
i found another one. 08, mega manual, if it's not deleted i'll delete it. and it's HALF the price of the blue one. and a little over 100K miles.
-
to buy or not to buy.
i'm going to take it back today and offer 32, and walk at 35. i'm so close to new truck prices, i would rather a used one. but maybe not this one at that price point.

to buy or not to buy.
Well the wife found our "unicorn" truck, Mega cab, Manual. and it's even in blue. it's not as clean as i'd hoped it was for only 58K miles. has some hail damage, some small body damage. power seats don't work in all positions. just forward and back. truck runs strong. shifts great. G56. i know they are asking WAY to much. but it has the options we are after. dual climate control. heated seats and a 6 speed trans. http://courtesyautosales.net/2006-Dodge-Ram2500/Used-Truck/Cottonwood-AZ/7831623/Details.aspx It's a single owner truck came from MA to AZ about 6 years ago. some slight rust on unprotected metal, nothing to concerning to me. i will not be getting rid of my 04. just adding yet another truck to the mix. Thoughts.

TIRES
best tire's i've had in snow so far was cooper AT3's next would be the BFG AT Ko2's then the Michelin LTX A/T 2's as for road noise and longevity i'd have to vote for the LTX's they are awesome tires.

Travel trailer newbie!
of all the trailer tires i've used over the years the carlisle and the hurcules were the best. with the hurcules having a stiffer/thicker sidewall and lasting longer for me. One of my flatbeds has the carlisle and the other had hurcs. and my 5'er has hurcs. http://www.herculestire.com/tire-gallery/commercial/specialty/ oh and the hurcules are a fair bit let cash as well. all 4 for 380$ OTD!!!! i'm at 5 years on them. still look great.! all though i see they've gone up some. http://flagstaff.craigslist.org/grq/5623848284.html

New toy!! Could use some pointers from the hotrodders
the turbo 350 trans can be built to handle about 500 hp. but then agian so can a 700R4. it's should be a bolt in replacement. as for parts get them for the engine year not car year. as for a carb, i'm not really a fan of the edelbrock's they get crap for mileage. but they are easy to tune. i'd rather a good well tuned Qjet any day. get a good vacuum gauge and tune it the right way. all my older 80's style chevy trucks with the edelbrock would only get 10 mpg and with the Q-jet id get 15-18. i always got the M4MED for the electric choke. The QJet is a large 4 barrel carburetor that has a small primary side for fuel economy and good emissions and a large secondary side for good performance. QJets have a maximum airflow of from 750-800 cfm. Because the secondary side of the Qjet opens according to the airflow requirements of the engine, the same basic carburetor size can be used on a large range of engine sizes. The basic 750 cfm QJet casting is used from 231 CID to over 400 CID - the big secondary air valves open only as the engine breathes. For example, on a mild 350 Chevy the air valve will never open all the way - because the motor can't use more than 600 cfm or so. They can also be fitted with a vacuum actuator to up the idle at AC activation to help cool the AC and keep engine from running to low of an RPM.

Latest project
that's a cute little machine. here's mine http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/000/1/7/174-john-deere-2210.html as for the crank is it scored? or just a new cap and slip in new bearings?

Latest project
i have a deere 2210 and love it. it's small. but it sure is handy, 4' wide i can get into people back yards with ease. strong enough loader to lift more then it should, (back tires come off the ground), and i have a gannon for the back. great little machine. i'd like one a little bigger though for the tougher jobs. Congrats on the find. i'm sure once fixed it'll treat you well for many many years.

NV4500 and 50 SAE GL-4 Synthetic Trans Fluid
are there steel plates on the trans? like maybe the PTO cover? could one weld some fins on it for a make shift cooler? i'd be willing to weld them up if you were closer. something i'm thinking about doing to my auto trans pan. some rows of kinda thinish metal. welded on, getto yes. will it work? sure like to think ti would.
