  1. I did the 1" spacer to begin with. Ride didn't changes. I then changed to the 2" spacer and ride didn't change again. Maybe it helps on the 3rd gens to be lower?? I'm going to keep my 2" and put bags on the rear to stay level. I usually don't have enough in the rear to squat the truck too much.
  2. Maybe this is how they used to do it, but not anymore. I called Genos and they would only send me one that was drilled and tapped. I asked for two and they said to drill and tap it myself 1/4in NPT on the temp probe (Not sure why.... almost all sensors are 1/8in) 1/2in or 3/8in NPT for the fill. The other cooler has no holes anymore!
  3. Yes, they come in a pair and only one is drilled and tapped. It would be really easy to drill and tap the other one though. Correct both holes are now plugged. Fast decided to drill the small hole 1/4in NPT instead of 1/8in NPT so I had to use a reducer and that caused a bad temp reading. In the cover the temp probe is accurate with a temp gun
  4. 228 is getting pretty hot! Sorry I'm no help otherwise....
  5. I'll try to take a picture of the other side. The probe is dead center of the cover plate. The fill plug is almost level with the higher bolt on the side, and there is an extra quart of fluid in it. I would guess the probe is about 2 inches below the fluid level.
  6. If you wanted a redundant fuel system, you could run two pumps in parallel. You'd need 4 ball valves though. One in front of and one behind each pump. You'd need two Y's. One for suction and one for pressure. You'd only need one harness, because if one pump failed you could just plug it into the other pump. It wouldn't be very hard to do.
  7. Looks like you need a little different wheel / tire setup.
  8. Well I wasn't happy with the sensor location.... Down where it was it would catch snow, and I don't think I was getting accurate readings. So this weekend I drained all the fluid again (came out nice and honey colored like when I put it in) removed the PTO cover and got to work. I picked up a steel double female 1/8in NPT bung from napa and cut it in half. I then drilled a hole in the cover and welded the 1/2 bung to the inside of the cover. I figured the further in the better! Sealed everything up and was good to go. I drove it 140 miles yesterday with good results. Running about 65-70 in 6th gear and 70* ambilent temps the transmission stayed around 130 to 132. After getting on the freeway and running 75-80 for 40 miles or so the temps slowly climbed up to 139. Traffic then got heavy and I bounced between 0mph and 50mph. When traffic slowed down the temps dropped back down to 130. Looks like the fluid is staying cool and doing its job!
  9. Mine took 6 to 7 exactly to fill with a fast cooler, which adds one quart. I'd run a quart over to keep the front bearing lubed
  10. SMH people who aren't aware of their surroundings are frustrating.
  11. I think it would be more likely be a leak somewhere.... seal pushed out or something. He should NOT pay that to have an engine dropped in!!!!! He could pick up a reman longblock and have it put in for half the price.
  12. Hmmm. Well for the exhaust, I'd give these guys a call: www.wickedrigs.com They can help you with this stuff as they perform deletes every day. They can probably cut you a good deal on an MBRP exhaust as well. IF you can get a hold of RJ (the owner) tell him Tyler Faoro sent you to him. That might cut more off the price. I repetitively see Phil at Anarchy is a very good guy to deal with! I've heard Firepunk does a great job too, so I'm sure both could steer you in the right direction. You'd have to order or go to a truck repair shop to pick up that oil. I will say my Amsoil showed up 2 days after @AH64ID ordered it for me.
  13. SON OF A BBBBBBB JUST TYPED A LONG RESPONSE AND IT DIDN'T SAVE!!!!!!! Okay, rant over. I think this is because you can't legally sell a "delete" exhaust emissions. I do think it works though. Not sure about H&S. I would run EFI live though.... you will never regret it. Gauges I'd go pillar autometer matching gauges, or edge insight CTS2, or better yet both! Not sure about H&S...... ATF is wrong period. Do not run it. Now I can only attest to what I've run so here it is. Royal Purple ATF: Noisy with pretty decent shifting. Wrong fluid though! Amsoil 75w90 GL4: Very quiet! Very good shifting!! (I do not know about cold temps yet) Meets MB 235.5 spec, which MB says is for this trans. I was too scared to run the Mobil 50w Mike is running because of hard shifting in the cold. Too many stories on CF, but you'll have to make your own decision on what to run.
  14. They would probably charge an hour of labor. Drain coolant Remove belt (3/8 rachet) Remove water pump (Two 10mm bolts) Then put it all back. Might have them do a thermostat at the same time. It's only three 8mm bolts.
  15. rockauto heater core napa evaporator No issues for a year now
  16. I slathered some RTV on the side to seal mine up... they are a pita IMO. G56 has a drain plug Anyway, I wouldn't change to amsoil if you have the original stuff from dodge. It's made for it. However, if you can't find the dodge stuff I think amsoil is the route I'd go.
  17. Correct. It would catch, then rollover and drop in gear. What oil do you have in there? Let's just say John destroys the price on Amsoil's website, and it shows up at your door quickly!
  18. So I wanted to give a review of this oil. Again, thank you John! @AH64ID So the biggest thing I've noticed is the transmission is quieter. With ATF, if I was below 1600rpm the transmission would growl pretty bad with gear rollover. That is now virtually gone! So much so that I've wondered why I'm not building boost quickly then I'll look down and it's at 1200rpm! As for shifting.... it shifts much smoother! Before, it would sometimes roll to the next tooth when pushing it into gear, but now the shifter just slides into gear with ease. I can also shift much faster with less pressure than before. Temp wise, I'm not sure because I didn't have a probe before. If it stays below 180 while cruising 80mph I'll be happy. More to come...
  19. Took a 75 mile drive this morning. With the "fix" we have in place to make sure the custom tuning is working it's SUPER smooth. Very little smoke too. On lvl 2 I'm getting about 38psi of boost and egts can't get to 1100. It feels like it has enough power to tow too, I just haven't pulled anything lately.
  20. The picture on my bed.... The picture of the transmission has the cooler hanging off the side
  21. Manual with a fast cooler no trans cooler up front! Yes it finally came up. Doesn't read below 60 and takes quite a while to warm up!
  22. From what I can tell, 120 is too low period. The bottom of the transmission is only heated by fluid, and the bottom is where a good amount of cooling is done on the transmission. That tells me the fluid is at least the temperature of the bottom of the case, if not higher.
  23. Lots of work done this weekend. I started out by pulling the old wheels and tires off. I then pulled the front brakes and put some grease in the bearings. The passenger side is still leaking, but I think I can limp it until I graduate from school. Still Zero issues with ABS even though there's grease on the sensor and tone ring. I then put the new wheels and tires on. Makes the truck look a bit different. I like it! From there I put it up on the lift and drained the transmission fluid. It was Royal Purple ATF, but surprisingly it came out clean with no flakes and didn't smell burnt. The plug had the normal goop on it though. I then pulled the PTO covers and cleaned them up along with their mating surfaces. Then I used the "adapter kit" from Genos and installed a Fast cooler on the drivers side along with my trans temp probe from Quadzilla. The fast cooler only had a 1/4in NPT plug, so I had to use a 1/4in to 1/8 in adapter. This has made the temps completely inaccurate. After driving 45 min or so at 72mph the gauge read 120 on the quad. I Checked it with a IR gun and the bottom of the case was 165. If I have time this week, I'll pull the cover and weld a 1/8in NPT bung to the inside of the cover so the probe actually sticks into the fluid. VERY FRUSTRATING TO DO THINGS TWICE!!!! Anyway, here's a couple pictures. I then filled it with 8 quarts 75w90 GL4 full synthetic Amsoil (https://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/transmission-fluid/manual/manual-transmission-and-transaxle-gear-lube-75w-90/) which @AH64ID helped me purchase. Great price on the oil and was at my door in a couple days! (Factory is 6 quarts, 1 quart for the cooler, 1 quart above full) I then pulled the secondary turbo off to replace the gaskets between the manifold and the turbo because they were leaking pretty bad. I found a chunk of O ring missing on the intermediate charge piping. I've still got to track one of those down, but it doesn't seem to be affecting it too bad. And here's a picture because why not!
  24. I haven't loaded that one yet or driven the truck since I got home. I'll attempt to load it up tonight and see.
  25. The latest revision.... what changed? My truck seems lackadaisical up top, and it's at 100% by 15psi. You think this is just the tune not loading or?
