Diesel Vw Pickup
Any idea as to how to get a smarty to even communicate with it? That's like trying to put a smarty on my truck..... Bigger injectors will help.

Changing A Starter In The Rain... (On My Lincoln)
You know, you could have come up here and changed it. Not raining and had bright sunshine today too!

Diesel Vw Pickup
They get great mileage, but don't get in a hurry with it...........

Rpm Range, And Rear End Gears
Just keep an eye on the EGTs and you can run a long ways.

4 Wheel Drive, No More
The first thing you need to do is pull the cover and see what the problem is. You may or may not need a ring and pinion. Look at the spiders and see if there is something that just may be easier to fix.

Rpm Range, And Rear End Gears
Your engine is designed to run up against the governor all day long. In other words you can run 3000 RPM and not hurt the engine, but your fuel mileage would really suck. Keeping it under 2000 RPMs yeilds the best mileage.

Advice On Clutches
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT shop by price. You will regret it in the end.

4 Wheel Drive, No More
That is the axle disconnect. It is on the right side of the front axle and held in place by four bolts, real easy to inspect.

Air Starter On A 24 Valve
You don't remember the older Consolidated Freight trucks with the huge red air tank standing up behind the cab? They used to be real common years ago.

Air Starter On A 24 Valve
Wait until you are in the bunk after running hard all day and the guy next to you hits his air starter!! Them things are LOUD on a big truck!
-
Pop/miss At Certain Throttle Position
As much as I have read about these trucks your problems still point to injectors in my opinion...........

We're Doomed Gulliver
I have seen comercials for that thing and this one guy shaves his arm and says "It's just like a fresh wax!". What 'normal' guy would know about a "fresh wax"?

Hard Start After A Couple Days
It's not a fitting it is a rubber hose. On my 12V truck I would need about 12" of 5/16 hose and about 12" of 1/4" hose to fix the leaks. You won't always see a leak but they can admit a small amount of air.

KDP
If you have the upgraded housing you won't need to tab it. I have tabbed KDPs in about 2 1/2 hours start to finish with only hand tools in my driveway.

Need Help Asap With Airdog
Good deal! Glad it was fixed for you.
-
Pop/miss At Certain Throttle Position
Ok, that pretty much eliminates them. Didn't I read somewhere that some trucks have had a harness chaffing issue down by the A/C compressor? I don't know why that came to mind, but I remember something about it...l have a great memory, just that it is kinda short.......

Front End Popping When Turning In 4 Wheel Drive
What kind of a surface are you trying this on? If it if a dry or just wet surface that would be normal.

Table Saws And The Dangers (Or Safety Nets)

4Wd Shifter Rebuild?
Sounds like the linkage needs to be pulled and fit some bushings into them.
-
KDP
My understanding is that for up to the 01 MY it is pretty much hit and miss on the stepped hole for the KDP.
-
Brakes Pulsing
Way simpler and way cheaper, but I have 280K miles on my original bearings. That is because you can pull them and repack them.
-
Truck wont start
Glad you got it running and it turned out to be something fairly easy to fix!
-
Pop/miss At Certain Throttle Position
Have you ever had the injectors tested? That seems to be the biggest problem with these trucks and keeping them running.
-
Table Saws And The Dangers (Or Safety Nets)
That is the way nerve damage is. My left thumb is the same way.
-
Brakes Pulsing
That sounds more like a bearing problem rather than an ABS problem.
