  1. Drop the tank, or I think some people have cut the small vent line next to the filler line and added a vent cap from a boat. Hopefully somebody will chime in.
  2. Federal trucks don't have cat/resonators, CA trucks had them if I remember right
  3. Your return stops at the injectors, correct? If it didn't, wouldn't it always bleed back everything to the tank? TFaoro- try running without the cap, the cap actually isn't the vent, there is a vent ontop of the fuel module. It sounds stupid but I have seen it happen.
  4. Ok I was doing some thinking while on a road trip. The return system is free flowing, correct? There is nothing preventing fuel from going back into the tank like a check ball or anything. So how could a bad banjo gasket on the back of the head cause hard starts? Wouldnt the pressure side be bleeding back? I guess i would have to try it to see if my theory was right. Just trying to think out loud.
  5. Buy a mbrp turbo back 4" exhaust with muffler. They are cheap and give a nice sound without being too loud. Ive heard it called a cat and a resonator. I would have to look in the fsm to see what it is offically called
  6. I had a 01 last week that wouldnt vent left cap loose and never had a hard start. My 02 did the same exact thing
  7. I was throwing 0216 when i was gelling. Waited till it got above freezing and havnt had a code since
  8. Now that you say that, I have seen a vp44 and a cp3 leak into the gear case.
  9. I just thought of something. When it acts up, open the fuel fill cap and listen for a wooshing sound. Also try driving around with the cap off
  10. I really dont follow the procedure and have never had a problem. Pop in injector, line up hold down clamp, start bolts, pop in connector tube, tighten hold down bolts.
  11. Air leaks usually happen when cold espcially connector tube o-rings. Take some water and pour it on the injection pump when it acts up.
  12. If connector tube was bad, it wouldnt show in oil. It would go back through injector return. Reason I say this, you dont have any oil touching the connector tube.
  13. Connector tube o-rings wont leak into oil. Injector o-rings can
  14. Some dont have a crank sensor (01-02) if i remember right
  15. I heard we are averaging below freezing temps since october. The highest we have been was like 55 degrees. There was a atretch that we averaged -14.
  16. Dipricols were amazing. Somebody needs to build them again
  17. Taking wire off will throw a light. I dont know if mine just gets warm enough that the light doesnt stay on longer than the usual gauge check
  18. Ya i cant remember exactly i think its 500 miles empty and then he more you tow, the quicker the engine breaks in
  19. My wait to start light wont come on when i have the truck plugged in. My coolant temp is usually 50+ degrees warmer than ambient temp.
  20. Its amazing they can bring talent up there. Its like when nebraska was trying to get florida kids to come to nebraksa to play in the 90s
  21. Ive seen flex plates break but cant remember symptoms. I know it ticks if its bent bad enough
  22. There is an axle lock on the back passengers side of the front axle. Its vacuum operated. Check the lines at the disconnect and see if there is vacuum in 4x4
  23. Its not hard to get to. The last one I did, I took he nut off and put some green loc-tite and put the nut back on. Then i damaged the threads to help keep it on longer. Its not the best fix but it will work. Biggest thing is not to lug it in 5th gear
