  1. So have you noticed improved mpg's or am I the odd man out who didn't see any improvement?
  2. Keep in mind that it's $5.85 per imperial gallon which is 4.54 liters versus the US gallon being 3.78 liters. So in your language it's $4.95 per gallon.
  3. I've been running with my iat at 145. By watching my scangauge I have to imagine that I'm seeing an improvement. I try switching between normal and fooled temp and the mpg reading sometimes goes up and sometimes it goes down when it's fooled.
  4. Well I filled up again today and I had to bump the offset to 50%. My last 577 miles netted me 7.5 mpg:stuned::banghead:. I'd say about 40% of that was towing about 13k pounds, 40% towing 4k pounds (empty livestock trailer) and the remaining 20% just the truck. Something HAS to be wrong with this beast. There's no fuel leaking on the ground either. One brake was 30* warmer than the rest so I guess it's dragging a little bit. Is that enough? Or could the vp44 be suffering from it's days before the Airdog? Or could it be bad injectors? EGT's run about 800 climbing small hills and 650-700 on level going. Outside temps around 5* F. Sorry this is somewhat off topic.
  5. I'm running 43% offset. I wonder why my truck would be so much more than yours considering my mods are the same as yours aside from the injectors. Why doesn't the quote that I pasted not show that's it's a quote?
  6. Well I went for a drive and about the only difference I could notice was the engine sure was quieter with the IAT dialed in to 140-150:banghead:
  7. Glad to hear 98whitelightnin. I'm just waiting for the soldering iron to warm up so I can incorporate a 5k ohm POT into my idle fooler and maybe enjoy those numbers too:thumb1: And, ISX, a UG is an Ultra Gauge. Basically a Scangauge by a different company.
  8. Nice lookin outfit:cool: By the look of the black stain by your exhaust pipe that's where some of your poor mpg's are going:lmao:
  9. That's why I'm heading up there asap, to see what he does:cool:
  10. Don't say that to us Mike:doh: I'd be so tickled with mileage like that I wouldn't have even thought of an mpg fooler:lol: I've come across a guy about an hour from me that works on these trucks a lot and he says his dad has a 99 that is getting 29-31 mpg. The first chance I get I'm heading to his shop to find out what he does. From my own testing lately I get 2-4 mpg better by driving in Drive instead of Overdrive. Running at 2100 rpm is better than 1400.
  11. And i was nearly too afraid to ask:lol:
  12. Ok so what are 'fan wrenches'? Never heard of these before. I just thought JL was making a joke:cookoo:
  13. Nope. Just ground a flat spot on the input shaft of the new box to recieve the stock shaft. Worked fine.
  14. I just got my Borgeson box installed. What a difference that made:thumb1:
  15. So how are you going to do this? Sounds like a winner if you can make it work.
  16. Today I tried my ect fooler and it did nothing to my oil pressure reading:shrug:
  17. Nice looking stand and I don't think you have to worry about that thing dropping your engine:lol:
  18. Remember to fill the filter on the 'in' side or you'll get that bit of unfiltered oil going into your engine. Might not be a big deal but it's not that hard to do and then you can have peace of mind.
  19. So if you do drive over could you ask them why mine doesn't register accurate gph at idle or fast idle but gassernomore's does? There might be other's that work properly too as far as that goes.
  20. I bought some of this oil http://www.pennzoil.ca/#/motor-oil/pennzoil-platinum in the 5w-40 grade. Then I realized it is European formula so I'm wondering if there's any reason that I shouldn't use it in my cummins? I could use it in my Jetta but I'd have enough oil here for a life time:lol:
  21. I'm with you on the frustration. I work right in the oil field and still
  22. It's a chain. Don't know what it'd compare to with what you'd be used to. Not likely as big of a chain as NAPA.
  23. I don't know if you have Piston Ring down there but that's what I like here. In my local town and some great guys working there:thumb1:
  24. I've heard from a number of different guys up here that just blending your fuel won't solve gelling. They say it's the wax in the fuel that coats the filter and diluting it will just put off the evil day because the summer fuel is still in there with it's wax (I always forget if winter fuel is #1 or #2). By what you guys are saying here that is a myth. Can someone clear this up for me?
