Banks discrepancy
Correct, but the maximum pressure is supposed the same regardless of the brake; that is a number set by Cummins. Its in the 60-65 range. My brake peaks at 63psi, from about 2500+ rpms. So in order to obtain more braking you must be exceeding the stock value, its all you can do to increase it on an exhaust brake. The PXRB will provide more lower rpm braking, but peak should be the same on all of them, unless someone is creating too much or too little pressure. Banks has avoided this question on CF. The Banks brake also looks identical to the Jake, from the pump to the plumbing, to the brake itself, thou they claim its not.

Going the VNT route..
SW is software. SW1 is economy +40hp timing only; SW2 is towing, +70hp timing/duration; SW3 is performance, +100hp timing/duration. TM is timing in the adjustable "revo" options. Order of least to most TM1, TM3, TM2, TM4 (TM1 is stock, TM2 is default).

Oil pressure Gauge
Not horribly louder.. but it NEEDS fuel

A few more mods..
I want to put the 07-09 headlights/fenders/grill/bumper on my 05. I think the 06+ headlights have better light dispersion, and the 07+ don't have the orange reflector stripe.

Going the VNT route..
The way I normally run it is 330/675, and that was without any of the bolt-ons*. I have been trying SW2 for a couple of tanks, and will tow with it for the first time tomorrow. I have yet to tow my TT with anything by SW1 or stock (only once to storage, wow I like Smarty EGTs!).. I figure that with the airflow improvements and turbo mod it will probably be more like 330/700 since the boost will come on sooner and the ECM will fuel harder sooner. If I decide I like SW2 it should be about 360/725 or so.. Once I get the turbo on I'll re-dyno to see where I am at. But honestly the SW1 has been great, never short on power for towing around here. SW3 gave me 428/807. *I don't expect any hp gains from the bolt-ons, but I expect a little tq since the turbo lights sooner. ---------- Post added at 01:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:04 PM ---------- Okay, so those were corrected numbers.. UNCORR Stock 285/520 SW1 TM4 290/610 SW1 TM2 290/589** Normal setting SW1 TM3 293/544 SW3 TM4 380/704 SW3 TM2 385/708 SW3 TM3 386/712

Painted the OEM Wheels black today..
Wash and dry. I hit the lugs with some air to blow the water out. It was 95* out and they were dry pretty quick.

make that 3 But I am waiting to smack a deer so I can upgrade the front end to 07 headlights, then i'll get a deer killer!

Banks discrepancy
Sounds about right! Here is another of my favorites.. Exhaust braking power is made by applying back-pressure on the engine. The OE brake hits max back-pressure, so how does the Banks/PXRB brake more with the same back-pressure?

This filter fit on our motors?
No they won't. The thread size on that filter is 1 1/8" - 16, where we use 1-16.It does fit many ISB's and QSB's, but not the Dodge ISB.

Painted the OEM Wheels black today..
Little better pic.. I'll get some camping ones soon. Was touching up the wheels and painted the tailpipe, looks sharp!

Going the VNT route..
I plan to do a good write-up. I think in the sub 400 rwhp range this will be a good setup. I only plan about 350rwhp at most. I also don't think the 5.9 will have the DP issues the 6.7 has due to the lower displacement.

Going the VNT route..
Well I bought a 6.7 Turbo today, it should be here in a week or so. I got the turbo, manifold, and stock coolant lines. Now to save for the controller.. I will want to do studs first, so it will probably be some time before the VNT goes on, but it was a good deal.Fleece makes the controller and its pretty sweet. Its fully automatic, and include an exhaust brake function. You can custom tune the program to run the VNT like you want, and to limit max boost. Then there is a cab mounted dial for fine tuning the nozzle if you want, so on hwy trips you can open the vanes up to drop boost/DP and increase mileage, or towing heavy you can tighten the vanes a little for faster spool up. The compressor/turbine are the same size at my HE351CW, 60/60 but the housing is 3-26, so when its dialed in I should be able to have a little lower DP while towing which should lead to slightly lower EGT, but the bottom end while towing should be nice. I can't wait!

Few questions...
Ever get it figured out?

Oil pressure Gauge
But they went back up to 800 on some of the 06 and newer flashes. Guys really hate it too, I guess its noisy.

- Tubro NOT working, HOT EGT's!!! HELP!!!
It probably wouldn't hurt to remove the Edge from the truck to find out.- Tubro NOT working, HOT EGT's!!! HELP!!!
I am no where near a VP44ologist, however I think your deduction of a dying VP is correct. Timing will have a HUGE effect on EGT's. I run my programmer on timing only and drop my EGT's close to 200* or more. On stock timing 10psi of boost and lugging (low fuel) could easily net me 1200*, so I can see it happening based on that code. I would suspect the boost code is due to the lack of fuel, the ECM thinks their should be more boost than there is. I would bet if you fix the timing/fueling issue the boost code goes away. I am not sure I would drive it with timing out of whack, too advanced can cause issues, as can too retarded. Best be safe if you can swing it.P0216; Fuel Injection Pump Timing Failure; High fuel supply restriction, low fuel pressure or possiblewrong or incorrectly installed pump keyway.doesn't tell you much, especially if you're getting 17psi.- Oil pressure Gauge
I wonder why its so much higher? I am at 750.- Oil pressure Gauge
Mine is only accurate at 1200-1300 rpms with the engine at operating temp. Is 850-900 rpms your normal idle?- Tubro NOT working, HOT EGT's!!! HELP!!!
If it is a sensor out of whack it could be commanding some very retarded timing, which would run the EGT's thru the roof...On a side note, it is possible the EGT gauge is malfunctioning, and not a true symptom?- Oil pressure Gauge
Thats how I understand it.- Silencer Ring or Not
I have had mine out for a couple years now. Its just loud enough to hear sing, but not annoying, even at 30psi towing. It got a bit louder when I ditched the factory tq tube for a Airaid MIT. I think the 3rd gen air box location and design are just quieter.- Went Loggin'
Yes, and the new ADII as well.- Tubro NOT working, HOT EGT's!!! HELP!!!
Low boost and lack of smoke sounds to me like a fueling issue. I agree with the rest of the guys, you need to check for codes and clean the sensors. The fluctuating EGT's lead me to think its a sensor that is failing enough not to run right, but not enough to trip a hard code.I think it would be good to verify the WG operation as well.- Want to see a mountain move?
