  1. There are states other than Idaho?j/k sounds like a great idea.
  2. It depends on the flash the ECM has, if the software is original then its still a gauge, if its newer its an idiot needle. The 3rd gens are only idiot needles, only a pressure switch is on the block. :banghead:
  3. Oh wow, not bad. Most the mounts I have seen hang the filters below the frame. Based on someone, , posting the specs on their filters, they decided to upgrade to a filter that is as close as possible to stock filtration. Old filter, 20 GPH 50% free water sep, 0% emulsified New, 90 GPH 95% free water sep, 75% emulsified. (Luberfiner LFF9594) On a note, don't use any Fleetguard crosses for the Luberfiner, they are rated at 20GPH. Not sure on Donaldson.
  4. But thats not the OE mount is it? If I ever do a filtered pump I plan to put it in a similar fashion, up and out of the way! On a side note, have you seen the new f/w sep AD is using? Really improves the separation. Luberfiner LFF9594.
  5. I have heard they are getting much better... I still think I would rather have the canister, unless I needed the flow of a drawstraw.
  6. Since 1/4 tank issues aren't acceptable for me, I would go with a new canister over a draw-straw.
  7. This is such a useful feature, I use it all the time on mine. Hopefully you get the wiring figured out..I wonder if you could get a resistor or something in the mix to only show the ECM around 0*, so its not at the max and you get out of rationality?
  8. I use the shifter switch also, its the way to go IMHO!
  9. Like Michael I run a Jake brake as well. I am very happy with its performance and my 6 speed. With your 01 and a 6 speed its a perfect match. The 01 was designed to have a brake, so the ECM is ready to control it, and IMHO, this is the best way to do it.

I have gotten to drive on that dam twice in the last year :hyper:Its pretty cool! And that bypass they are building is INSANE.
  11. Yeah, I bet I use that program daily...They are within 200 feet of me!
  12. I use it all the time, just never seen the find me linkEdit: Now that I look at your first pic I feel like an idiot!
  13. The Dodge wheels are still the same pattern thru 2010+.. I have 08 OEM Dodge Rims on my 05. GM uses the same bolt pattern (heck same rear axle) as Dodge, but the hub holes are different on some models.
  14. A link would be cool!
  15. All the rigs I drove growing up were autos, Dad had a LD 3/4 Chev with a 4l60 and a HD 454 burb with a 4L80. I didn't like the way they towed, shifting into 2nd when not needed (heck the 454 burb would do it not towing on a steep hill, 454's have more tq than that). The think that did auto's in for me and dad was the road to elk camp, 70 miles of dirt with several passes in there. The auto's would get so stinkin hot! The LD 3/4 did okay as we never towed more than 4-5K into camp with it, but it would be 70 miles of towing without a lockup! The HD burb would tow 7-8K with a FULL truck, probably GCWR of over 17K and the trans would overheat the motor thru the radiator, with electric fans and a huge trans cooler. Then, like you said, was the downhill of forest service roads, YUCK! If we kept the rigs in 2HI the brakes would cook on the 7 miles from the top of the mtn back to camp, especially on the heavy burb. SO 2LO (posi-loks are great, and will work on your mom's rig), 2nd gear would keep the brakes from starting fires. The 4L60 needed replaced at 120K miles, and the 4L80 is still going strong at over 200K, but they both had annual fluid changes with Amsoil ATF and had oversize coolers. I don't think the 4L80 would have made it to 100K with stock fluid or coolers. My brother has an 06 QC LB Hemi with an auto, and man that thing seems to take a TON of throttle to get it to move, i've never like the feel of it. Exhaust brakes and manual trans are the way to go for towing and back roads, hands down.
  16. Gotcha, I wasn't thinking about the ACC mode (hadn't had coffee yet)... Find a way, I want to do it to!
  17. Glad you got some good answers from a clutchologist :hyper:Now get that sucker bolted up and back on the road.
  18. Lets use them. I'm a dealer, but dont "deal"; so as a last resort I can be used, but prefer folks go thru official site dealers.
  19. I am a dealer, but I am not sure how Mike works that. If he has an official dealer, go that route. Other wise, with Mike's blessing, shoot me a PM.
  20. This is very true, sometimes the best time to do things, isn't the right ($$) time to do them.. If its at all possible I say do it now, if not then keep it in the back of your mind.
  21. You may also hit up some of the larger forums for guys wanting to go the other way, and do an axle/bed swap.
  22. Yep! I have never used the PS fluid, but based on all my other experiences with their fluids I would have no issues spending the $$ if my truck called for PS fluid. I did a PS flush last winter, and went with Amsoil ATF, made a nice difference in cold weather operation. Amsoil PS Fluid I beleive there is an Amsoil vendor on here as well.
  23. Yep, not sure how they fixed it on the 3rd gens, but they don't do it.
  24. Can you just pull the key 1/8" out? That works on mine.Wont disabling the chime effect lights and other things too?
