  1. Rhino should be pretty easy as self leveling and blending .... Lots of videos on YouTube also ?
  2. If you have an aftermarket VB and TC ... Can't see too much issue with current power. Heat is number one killer , then slipping of the TC clutch ... Then slipping of the tranny internal clutches between gears ... The first two you will know about when it happens .... The third you can check by dropping pan every now and then on amount of clutch material ..., but probably not too much if an issue if you have a good VB.
  3. What's the main reason for going additional filter ? I used soft lines in my return side when going to auxiliary cooler - never had an issue and those are easy to tee into
  4. Been a while since I had some of the components off. And obviously truck wont have them when I get it.How do the lines attach to the evaporator up front and the drier on side of engine bay - some quick connect fiiting right ? Do you need a special tool ? Anything else to think of when I start sourcing parts ? Anyone know anywhere you can get some custom flexible AC lines made ? That would be neat for twins later and some other reasons ...
  5. $800 is a about right money for the two parts. Both are high quality and you will enjoy.I'd look at it this way ...... for $800 you can really wake up your truck and give it the fuel it needs. If for some reason you don't like it later or want something different - pull it off you'll get your $800 back.
  6. I hear you ... My flood insurance is about to go from 1700 per year to 8300 .... Some law I wasn't told about when I bought 12 months back .... Someone's getting paid. - - - Updated - - - http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/banking/senate-panel-on-wednesday-examines-flood-insurance-rate-increases/2142420 Sorry to hear about the health insurance side. Its sad that people that work cant afford health insurance - should be the one thing people can afford.
  7. Jag - fill me in on one thing - a bit ignorant here. I thought Obamacare gave a stopgap - meaning that everyone would have insurance even if you didn't so to speak ... I thought that's what everyone was originally upset as that meant illegals too ? Sorry for the ignorance .... I think the whole system is VERY corrupt ... With or without Obamacare
  8. Got it - thx. I saw the 12v heading and just assumed p7100 ........ not VE.
  9. 366 spring ? Is this for the smoke screw at the back of the AFC housing ? Lost me there ..... not a 12v person ..... but slowly learning - got a link ? INteresting on the primer .......
  10. Here you go ....... does everything you want and more ...... http://www.competitiondiesel.com/forums/showthread.php?t=158555 There is a 2003 with same setup very clean in NC or SC somewhere on craiglist for $14k.

  12. well the update is I spoke with him via phone and email and looks like everything is good. Truck is in shop getting sprayed and rust fixed ...... and he's shopping for new tires. Seems like a solid (but busy) guy. I'll probably be flying out weekend of the 5th to go pick her up based on schedules aligning. Very excited and relieved - although it wasn't cheap - it met all of my goals on the performance side, has lows miles and clean leather interior and is a long bed (for my fishing kayak) .......and honey do lists. cant wait to get her home, take some pics and show you guys .........
  13. Yeah they are clean but most need the following. $6-$8k transmission. $1500 turbo. $700 headstuds H11 So then Im at $18-$19k for a high mileage cummins. So factoring in engine rebuild ---- Im getting into $24k. These are my current two fallbacks ...... http://onslow.craigslist.org/cto/3951017358.html http://www.dieselsellerz.com/trucks/7343 But "appears" I might still be in the game with my 1st truck - he just pinged me back after 4 days after I told him I was needing to finalize today or move on one of the above 2 trucks ...... Hes going to call me in a couple hours ..... - - - Updated - - - thx tho
  14. Yeah I'm pretty much prepared to fly anywhere within 25 hours of Tampa FL. I also have a $200 finders fee to anyone that finds me a truck I buy. I've started looking in TX and such similar to your thought above ..... wyoming and colorado are just a bit too far. Yeah saw your thread - that sucks - going to be good to have a trans expert here though as too many guesses comming from people on trans issues (myself included)
  15. Yeah honestly I sold it as I wanted a 650hp truck .... And I thought selling it gives me more options .... Eg anything from 1990-2006 .... It's just been harder to find than I thought as I won't buy a truck off a 17yr old kid .... Generally speaking I have found 3 trucks out of literally 100's .... Fully built ppumped 2ng gen $18k after respray of some paint and rust issues 110000 miles. Converted ppumped and semi built 1st gen for $11500 but less history/paperwork on build 04 3rd gen with a newly built billet trans for $19k. 210000 miles. Scrapping the idea of the 1500 salvaged title .
  16. This was a backup option .... I think I am scrapping it though. Right now still hoping to do the first truck .... If not .... A p- pumped 92 1st gen with a built 47rh
  17. Honestly bill ..... My plans are just a DD 600-700HP truck. Clean. I'm thinking about getting into a little bit of track racing ..... but nothing serious. I just like the power. Its unbelievably hard to find a clean one. They are either owned by young kids that make be feel dubious, owned by someone who bought it that way ..... or they want an arm and a leg for it. Yes on the ATS TC.
  18. Here's the truck http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/cto/4002844611.html
  19. How do you tell if the frame was damaged though apart from obvious weld spots. Also just found out the truck is actually a 1500 MEGA CAB. And a 2500 Megacab cummins was put in it. But looking at http://www.turbodieselregister.com/05chicago/Ram_Mega_Cab_Specifications.pdf doesnt seem the GCWR or other loadings are that different.
  20. So apparently it was hit on drivers side. Front door, rear door and bed were replaced. The truck in the pics looks immaculate. Its been resprayed/repaired obviously. The guy has no proof of the above he bought it already repaired.:shrug:When you come you should let us know ....... stop off for lunch !! More than welcome.
  21. As some of you know I'm looking for a built truck. Well one I found for a decent price is a salvage title. I keep saying "no" .... but the price is fairly attractive. If I was planning to keep for some time - not concerned with resale issues - what would I look for ?Any experiences yourself - good or bad ???
  22. He said the frame is pretty clean and I have seen a few pics there - doesn't look too bad ...... Its a dyno truck that was built ...... 2nd gen .......24v with ppump and a bunch of parts Ill be sure to get pics of it once its peeled/sanded back and before its primed/painted .....
