  1. Those are good guages. I have autometere phantoms - I like the loko of them and they have held up well no issues.
  2. About 750 will get you a slightly used one. Yes they aren't cheap and I'd definately put funds to a new tranny first Good luck
  3. My setup Not confusing .... And can switch guages on the fly .... Eg IAT ... Voltage .... .... Juice temp .... Fuel pressure snd temp .... It also has obdii diagnostics for reading and clearing codes as well as track times for 1/4 mile and data logging
  4. I love my CTS. Best all around tuner out there. Only reason I would run something different is a more aggressive fueling stack. Guages and display are just awesome. I have a couple manuals as well ...
  5. The one from ebay ?? cant remember the name ..... Anyway - you need a boost elbow that allows via a set screw a pressure bleedoff to the wastgate actuator. Basically tightening the screw allows more boost/psi to build before it bleeds off via the wastegate/actuator ... reaching higher boost before the gate opens. Thats the main deal with the hx35. You can play around with the actuator rod to controll when the gate opens as well basically disconnecting from the back and shortening/lengthening as required ...... and clipping back on. Finally check for boost leaks with a boost leak detector ...... you can google it .... but basically a pvc cap on the compressor side of turbo with a air inlet and chareg the system with compressed air whilst monitoring for leaks up to say 20-30psi.
  6. What new turbo ? You need to restrict the wategate tension ... A turnbuckle for a hy35 and a boost elbow or spring gate for others ...
  7. Heard nothing but good about Jacobs injectors ..... With 75's you should be able to control everything with your foot ..,
  8. Why would he get no fuel with lines cracked and 12psi ? Vp44 locked ?
  9. Free shipping that was nice of them ! Man $4k ..... Maybe you should have gone the other way on selling the 24b 2nd gen ... To a 12v 2nd gen ... Yikers
  10. STOCK->RV275->+75vco CPP -> 0.010"*7 sac (150hp) .... I see no net difference really with the change in injector. The problem is its hard to compare even with fuel logs which I keep each fuelup as I definately drive the truck differently at 500HP than I did at 400HP. PLus other mods inbetween. I can say with reasonable accuracy - that stepping up to a good 150hp injector I can still pull my best numbers on the highway .... ~ 20-21 mpg ....... same as I could with a timing chip and rv275;s. The more power the more fun it is to drive though .... so for me the 150's are the best ..... I did like the +75;s too though.
  11. Hate that on the 2nd gen you can only have 1 guage on the steering column Bites
  12. 150hp sac injectors made by a fat Asian builder called lee - hahaha Same as Ryan's (vco) 98whitelightening There pretty good , I like Jamie's CPP +75 I was running prior also I really think these trucks should have come with bigger injectors stock
  13. Positive of what to positive of what ?
  14. Reminds me of ..... http://www.madmaxmovies.com/mad-max-beyond-thunderdome/cars-and-vehicles/aunty-entity/aunty-entity-tina-turner-in-action.jpg
  15. Cruise boost I dont think changed at all ......maybe 1-2 psi Honestly the only main differences after twins are 1) I hit 45psi+ QUICK at full throttle 2) My EGT are less than 1100 - normally 800-900 at almost full throttle. thats really it .... but its REALLY nice to know I can throw more fuel at it , it cleans up quickly, and I havent even tuned it and I probably still have 1-2 boost leaks. I need to do a DP check, primary V secondary boost check (balance) .... and boost leak check. Im sure all need some level of attention - but it drives so well anyways.
  16. THIS THREAD NEEDS LOT OF PICS AND WRITEUP !!!No idea about rebuilding the rear driveline.
  17. Wanted to share a very useful thread. I havent done this yet - but will be doing it soon. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98-5-02-non-powertrain/360472-broken-maplighst-overhead-console-check-out.html
  18. What I noticed is basically if you like your spoolup now - thats basically what you will get in the twins - eg the spoolup doesnt change, mpg doesnt change - so on. What changes or needs to be considered is *) TOP END HP and EGT *) Drive Pressure *) Spool up of the primary - when it really kicks in (kinda of like second stage spoolup - when your secondary goes from 15 psi to 40+ psi REAL quick) With a 62 as secondary turbo - and you dont want over 600 HP - eg your not ppumping or going with a monster pump ..... then a s472 should work well. Slightly quicker spoolup on the primary for DD. Just will lose a little in teh top end ..... but that probably wont bother/notice as you dont [currently] have the fuel for it anyways. These are some specs availabel on primary I found on CF. 472/96/1.31 472/83/1.10 475/96/1.31 475/83/1.10 I'll try and find out which one I have. BTW - I have similar setup to you and I dont have enough fuel for my smaller 60/s472 combo - thats mainly why I was like your might want to consider a super-b/s472 etc. Carl from crazy carls is where I got my stuff from and hes the main guy I know of for AIR/turbo questions - you can call him or PM in CF ....... he'll set the record straight also
  19. x2Rogan - you know the best thing about all this is ?? .........once you get it fixed ....... we are going to have a local MM1973MAN 47RE tranny expert !!seriously ..... sucks to learn it the hard way - but your gonna have some invaluable diagnositics background to help others in an area where most people dont really know - just what we've read on forums .......thats going to help a LOT of people....
  20. Thx Bill Knew my "assumption" was wrong somewhere - just couldnt work it out.
  21. This is the bit I dont get. Diagram attached. So the leafs are anchored either side and the ubolt pulls the centre down around the spacer blocks - so isnt that whole thing under huge load/tension ?? Obviously Im wrong - but I dont know where or see how that works. - - - Updated - - - DOH So the leafs are prebent - and they actually flex the other way under load (flatten out) ??? now I kinda get it ........ [saw a youtube video] rigth ?
