  1. 1 more question. Thinking of doing other bathroom tying into the light again. But this one is on a dimmer switch Bad idea ?
  2. Report back on mpg after the fun wears off
  3. Plus lanes required for business (many) our trucks aren't I mean 1 truck supports 1 business1 plane supports 100 businesses etc But it still sucks
  4. Where are you located? If you can handle some downtime and sweat you can pickup a complete tranny rebuilt with new convertor and VB around 2500 Weekend job.
  5. Yeah there's a writeup on CF for doing it yourself as well
  6. x2 Turbo will do very little for you with those injectors/fueling.
  7. Got her done fellas thanks for the help.Works a treat
  8. GOOD INFO !!! :thumb1:Would have 2x thanked if there was a double thankyou button :)Got it all setup, going to tie in duirectly to teh junction box at the light and loop back to the exhaust fan.The wiring is 12/2 - so going to continue with that. Its on a large Amp circuit ...... going to be hard to claculate exactly the load as depends what applicances are running at the time but this is small fan with no heat lamp - so going to tie it in and monitor to make sure circuit doesnt trip.thanks guys
  9. Hey man.I think your just too clever and you get bored easily. You also have multiple interests.Problem with college/uni is it makes you choose 1 track. You can choose different courses but you have to choose a major. Most people I know with degrees - including me - no longer work in their original field. So one thing is not to view it as if your a chemical major thats all you will ever be. Most people change careers totally at least 1 time in their life.So anyway - hard to say man - but your interested in challenges and intertested in diesel. Why not get heavily into building transmissions or heavily into injector builds. If you get good enough at it - you will make good money and have a decent pay working for yourself. You will also be able to help people on forums with detailed specific knoweldge rather than just good guesswork. Finally - when/if you decide to chaneg careers (become an structural engineer or banker or whatever) you will have those skills (problem solving) and helping people through an open dialouge for life :)And you can always fall back to it or keep it as a side $$ generator
  10. Thanks guys.So .....1) How to determine that curcuit load is not exceeeded - no idea :shrug:2) I assumed all wiring was 14/2 ..... so thats what I bought ...... current 14/2 I bought is white ...... this electrical wiring is yellow ......... I'll have to crawl up and see what markings ...... etc.
  11. The gfi outlet I have looks like its controlling the light and also a lower receptacle directly tied in. I want to add a exhaust fan. I don't think I can re-wire this cleanly over my head .... But .. if I'm happy for fan to always be on with light can I just Splice directly into the line going to the light. Eg Cut existing line - now have 2 blacks 2 white and 2 ground Have new line for exhaust comming from exhaust. 1 black 1 white 1 ground. Tie off black x 3 Together Tie off white x3 together Tie off ground wires x.3 together That's it .... ???

  13. I dont disagree on the ^^^ "democide" or government and religion sidfe of things. In fact I think religion is probably the worst of the lot - be hard to define deaths under religion as opposed to governemnt though. http://www.vpc.org/press/1110gundeath.htm
  14. ok - I was going to wait a few more days to be sure ..... and also I sent a PM to bob ....... but havent heard back yet as to his thoughts ..... basically its started a few months back, got slightly worse, and was happening 99.5% of teh time you started the engine after being idle for a while. Only when put into 'D'. I will upload a video. Fule PSI was 16 all the time and apps % and rpm seemed stable. I was thinking air leak in the fuel. To fix I unloaded and reloaded the smarty program - simple as that. Now the question tom me is ... 1) Was it something wrong with the ECM fueling tables - and smarty reflash fixed it ? 2) Did the smarty cause it as well ? Or it was just the cure ??? - I messaged Bob about this. But 5 days now - no repeat !! And no ECM replacement - yay
  15. Well .... i think I fixed it ........... Im goign to wait a few more days before I post the fix - make sure it stays (been about 4 days now and completey gone ........ used to be EVERY start). It wasnt what I was expecting .......
  16. Dont know anything about it apart from most guys on a 24v say its easier to just do an axle swap. And the there's still some considerations. I did see an article once on a 12v - my impression was it was easier ...... but Ill have to see if I can find the article
  17. Interesting. Whats the impact of running the 3" though - just higher back pressure and therefore drive pressure ? Most guys wouldnt know if that was happening without measuring DP. For example mike has a 400+hp truck and he has a 3" exhaust and his EGT are in check and his efficiency is good with over 22mpg. So only downside I can see is higher DP ? I went to 4" and never saw anything noticeable. But I was under 400hp at that point.
  18. I'm with Russ. Save the money to another filter when required. They look nice but mine started to die long before I. Would have gotten through the filter
  19. Ive seen cummins 2nd gens do under 12 secs on youtube 99% of trucks on these sites wont see over 13 towing a large TT or 5th wheel, or anywhere near 12 secs Just trying to keep it realistic ....... theres always outliers when you generalize ....... I met a guy with a 3rd gen that swears he gets 18mpg towing his 12000 lb 5th wheel ........ do I believe him - no .... does he believe him ...... I think so I'd love to run propane ....... didn't like h20 ........but seems anything apart from large engine changes like Porting/Cam/Compression change or gearing isnt going to net anything over where I am now ....... that makes it worth it
  20. Timing box and injectors good for 2-3 mpg increase Personally thought Cpp injectors 75hp were better than rv275 for power and mileage
  21. Did enjoy reading this. Good points.
  22. So interesting development on truck. Lately after initial startup the truck lopes real bad and would probably stall unless I gave a little fuel. After some throttle she's fine and first return till next startup Thinking air leak or ECM issue at startup that levels off Leaning air leak Fuel psi is steady at 15 psi before and after
  23. That's cool man - I also think I said a couple times that I'm coming at it from a different perspective having grown up in 2 other countries and our while way if life is different around guns - really it was just another perspective on something I don't fully understand. So it's interesting at least to hear all your guys thoughts . I just wonder what the fix is ... Let's say we keep all the guns for decency and liberty and tyranny ... Cool ..,. Now what ? I just don't see many other solutions here that are better ..... I've grown up with hunting Roos and foxes in aus and hunting here with bow and gun .... So been around guns ... But I've seen plenty of crazy kids who talk about theirs and shooting crap up and what not .... Anyway - so what do we do apart from better health systems and screening that no-one will fund ?
