  1. Did you get high idle to work? I was never able to get mine to work, even after Quadzilla sent me out a new programmer thinking it was that. Ended up enabling high idle and getting a fooler from Prowelder instead
  2. LoL...sorry , 14 000 lbs, 16 inch tires. I always use a trailer from a friend of mine, this day was a different trailer from another friend also.
  3. Sorry guys, haven't had much time to check in the past couple days...i'm pulling a 16 ft bumper pull with 15 inch tires. Running the XZT programmer on my truck
  4. Well I cruise along between 70 -75 mph which is truckin along, but seems wierd how I knowof guys towing 4 snowmobile enclosed trailers getting better mileage, and I can be sure they aren't slowpokin
  5. Took my truck and trailer (trailer rated for 14000kg) and drove 3.5 hours to pick up a backhoe attachment, drove back. Filled up and checked my mileage and was very dissapointed to see the result! 11.6 mpg
  6. Isn't that the case when dealing with the legal system regarding anything nowdays?
  7. Well I learned something today, i didn't even realize there is a light on mine! I know my gauge isn't reading accurate but try not to let it go to low anyway. I usually fill up at half a tank and usually have about 400 miles on it, so i doubt there near that left in it.
  8. Lots of good thoughts..thanks guys! I plan on taking my alloy wheels off and putting them in my basement, i'll put my steel wheels on . I made the mistake once of letting the alloys sit in a unheated building, many hours of hand buffing I got all the white corrosion off of them . They pepper the roads with salt so bad here I hate to take it on them if I don't have to. I plan to start it once a month or so, if I can get it out I may take it for a drive out the guys driveway which is about 1/2 mile long so hopefully that'll be sufficent. As for the Subaru flagmanruss, i'm absolutely lovin it! A $600 car that rides almost as good as my 09 Corolla and even has heated seats! I also got my gas leak fixed, come to find out it was a pinhole in the line from what we could tell, dropped the tank and saw no wet spots, replaced a few lines and doesn't seem to be leaking now I keep telling the wife we should get rid of the Corolla but she keeps at me
  9. guesswho512, you know how to suck the fun out of his birthday don't you (LMAO) Happy Birthday MoparMan, hope you have a good day and lots of cake until it makes you sick...isn't that what birthdays are for?
  10. I was actually thinking of the WD 40 idea. If I were to take the air box tube off going to the turbo, i was thinking i could spray some in the turbo while turing the fins by hand, just don't know how i would clean it off when I get the truck back out where it's insie the turbo a bit . Maybe it wouldn't even hurt it if I didn't get it off, would probably be dried quite good by then
  11. Was told by someone tonight that it's not a good idea to leave the truck sit all winter without starting it because the turbo will corrode and cause issues with it....think thats possible? gets pretty cold here, I know I put my alloy wheels in an unheated building one winter, by spring they were corroded up real bad, had a hard time hand buffing them back to rights
  12. This will probably not be cost justifyable but maybe someone could look into it? Up here where i'm from these Subaru's are noted for the gas tank rotting. Dealer wants $550 for a new one, and used are hard to get if you can at all, which right now I can't find one. Any of you guys in the soutern states have any junk yards around you could check on a tank for me and see what it would cost to ship one up here to me? Probably cost alot but maybe worth a try . It's a 1998 Subaru Outback Legacy wagon AWD (all wheel drive) with a 2.5 litre engine. Shipping to Nova Scotia Canada.
  13. I paid $600 for the car, I figured I can't get much body work done for $600 if the salt starts eating my truck away, so why not get it
  14. So after spending alot of money doing the body on my truck, I cringe at the thought of wintertime coming and driving it in all the road salt and crap that they use up here in Canada. I now people will think i'm nuts but I decided i'm going to lay my truck up over the winter. Last night I had chance to buy a Subaru Outback for next to nothing that's inspected until march of 2012 so I latched onto it. I figured if I can make the body on my truck stay good for alot longer, why not. I don't really use my truck for anything during the winter months other than transportation, so this Subaru will do what I need it to do. I'm planning on storing it for about four months, should I just drive it in the garage and leave it, or should I be unhooking the batteries and stuff? I wasn't sure if unhooking them for that long will screw anything up like the Apps or anything
  15. Glowshift has them on for $179.00 http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/3in1-Combination-Gauge-Boost-and-Exhaust-Temperature-and-Pressure-Gauge.aspx
  16. I've looked all the boots and connections over, I can't seem to find anything loose
  17. Ok...so before i post here I wanna say everyone has a right to an opinion and my opinion is mine, not saying anyone elses is wrong in what I have to say, so I hope nobody takes offence. I watched this video and from what I could see the officer was being polite when he asked for the mans info. He then asked where they were coming from or heading, possibly just as a friendly conversation piece to make it a less authoritive situation. As soon as he asked where they were coming from or headed, the driver gave him attitude saying it's none of his buisness, which the policeman said ok. Then when asking for id from the other men, the driver again gives attitude. So what was his problem, the cop wasn't being an ___, he was just asking to see i'd so he new who he is dealing with. How many times I wonder has a cop asked for i'd and found someone that was wanted on a serious crime? So does a blown license plate light warrant a stop , doesn't seem logical but most likely the law states yes. Cops drive the roads every day and night, walking up to a car at night not having a clue whos inside or what they have pointed at the door towards you, it can't be a good feeling when you standing outside the car. Yes there are bad cops, but there are also good ones that are there for the sole purpose of making the area a person lives a safer place hopefully. If that was three terrorists in that car with a trunk full of explosives going towards an elementary school , people wouldn't think it was a bad thing it was stopped and questions are asked. Police make stops, sometimes they find illegal people or things and get it off our streets, sometimes they inconvienince people a bit, but if you have nothing to hide, why not give that cop outside the door a bit of respect and try to remember he may be the one thats there to be a good cop and make your area safer, not just out to hassle a fella. I always found if i'm respectful to the cop, he's respectful with me, if he gives me a ticket, it because i'm doing something I shouldn't have been doing according to the law. Most times if you are good with them it may get you a break, unless your way outa line. If I were those cops in that situation, I don't think I could've kept my cool as good as they did. BTW, the comment the cop made about it could get more deadly ot whatever it was he said, probably not the best thing he could've said, but we all may say things that aren't the best to say in the heat of the moment sometimes out of frustration.
  18. First question isIs there and ground wire going to the sending unit in the tank for the fuel guage or any reason my gauge would read steady, but incorrectly? Before I had my box off and had my truck painted it seemed like if I was abuot 1/2 tank i could fill it for about $90 +- and now it seems like it takes more as if the guage isn't reading right. Today i put $92 in it at a little less then 3/4 of a tank showing on the gauge. The gauge never jumps around is if anything is wrong :shrug:Second question isAfter I put new intercooler boots on I fianlly noticed being able to hear my turbo spool up. Last week it seemed to get a little louder sounding then usual, had it for a 150 mile trip today towing a flatdeck 16' trailer and it was hard to hear it spool and I been noticing the truck is lazy acting.. Some of the hills I was on today i could hold my own but that was about it, couldn't do much for gaining speed. I looked at my boots and checked the air box for a blockage but everything looks good. I haven't got a boost gauge yet, been draggin my feet on whether to go with a programmer or just get the gauges, so i can't tell you what i'm making for boost, all I know is it's hard to hear the spooling now.

    Welcome
  20. I'm on the main site looking at this mod and the pictures, I see where the 45's or 22's (whatever they are) are used, but where are the 90's used in the back to go down behind the engine between the firewall? Same with the male/female fittings?
  21. Funny, I build truck tires everyday, but ask me how long they last or are rated to last, I couldn't tell ya!
  22. I think I have the BFG's like your talking about...they're a commercial tire but I don't know if the ones I have are classed as all season ,I know they are a studdable tire so I thinking it's not an all season. I find most BFG's and Michelins, which most likely have some of the same compounds in them since it's the same company will wear pretty well. I have the commercial for winter and the BFG all terrain for summer. Thinking of going with a Michelin A/T next time though to see if it helps my wander out
