New truck!!
Alright guys have something weird going on and looking for some other opinions on what it could be. The jist of it is this morning, fired up the truck, no prob, fuel pressure was good. Read probably around 17-17.5 being cold I thought nothing of it, although it did sort of recently start doing it the last couple days. Drove to and from work, about 5 miles round trip (yea I live close to work ha) but still was seeing 18ish psi with hardly any decision from that. Truck made it to just about 190 coolant temp. Well later this afternoon after being parked at the house for a few hours I got out and fire up the truck, starts fine, no hiccups, look over at the gauge after driving down the road a bit and gauge is stuck on 14psi. I have no idea why or what happend. Things ive checked already; - tapping on the gauge to see if it was stuck - turning the truck on/off - opening the needle valve a lot! - checked fittings at the VP, FASS and looked for leaks coming from fuel module (nothing there) -no CELs truck runs and starts fine, and I know 14 psi isn't bad but it's random! I have a test gauge coming from Eric as well as some extra hose so I can do a bucket check as it seems to be an air leak somewhere but could it be anything else? EDIT*** one extra thing of note. Before this when the gauge would build pressure to would build fairly quickly then slow up right around 15psi then gradually build up to the final 18ish psi. Now the gauge builds at the same speed but stops a turkey at 14psi. Originally made me feel like the gauge was sticking.

I have a Smarty to play with for a couple days
Dude I had a mini panic attack for you! I had to go back and watch the video in a higher res because I thought your fuel pressure was way low, especially for your mods! But, you have a 0-40psi gauge so never mind! haha I'm looking forward to trying out Tyler's smarty whenever I get to borrow it. I just don't have the nice transmission like you do!

automatic transmission late shift
Ok well if you're running 35's that's going to have faster shift speeds. It still seems like yours is running a little high though. Mine with 35's will typically shift from 2-3rd at about 35-40mph but probably around 1500rpm. Just trying to give you something to go off here. What Me78569 said is what you want to check though. Just figured if you have nothing to go off you could end up all over the place. Hope this helps!

automatic transmission late shift
I know you said the truck was completely stock but does that mean stock tired as well? Just curious because my two trucks shift at different points with different sized tires

Is this a TV cable thing?

OBDLink LX and OBDLink Android App
Hmmm I'm going to have to check now! Thanks Dripley!!

Track bar
Ahh ok. Well 1/2in don't seem to bad given the leveling kit and stock track bar.

OBDLink LX and OBDLink Android App
I think what Nick is saying is what's happening with mine. If I scan the truck prior to start with the key on, I'll have a CEL, which seems like the norm. I scan, pull codes (1693/0500) start the truck and then CEL is gone. Like what Nick is saying, maybe it happened just enough for the computer to sense it but not enough to continually trip the CEL. I dont know for sure. All I know is you can pull codes from the CEL before start but then start the truck with no codes and be fine.

OBDLink LX and OBDLink Android App
Are the codes only showing when truck is off and the key is turned to the 'ON' position? I've found that the OBD reader won't show those codes, only ones that cause the CEL to stay on after start up. For instance, my truck will have the CEL stay on until I start the truck. If I run my hypertech tuner to set tire size it will show a few different codes 1693/0500. Once the truck starts, no CEL and no problem so I just leave it alone. Might be worth checking out though since you dtc is in relation to your other thread. On another note, what did you mean the smarty wouldn't keep the correct tire size once the smarty was removed? Removed as in physically or removed as in set back to stock in order to give it back to your buddy?

Grid heater relay solenoids and P1291.....opinions
Did you have to pull back the rubber portion to find this? Or was it already sticking out?

Track bar
Is that with a new track bar?

New guy here and a high mile vp44...stock lift pump
I definitely think there are some cases of 100% stock trucks that'll run a VP for 100's of thousands of miles with no problems. I've talked with a couple guys I know that are in this situation but it's hard to try and sell them on something when they're sitting there with a stock truck that's been running fine as long as it has haha

Is this a TV cable thing?
I gotta say, everything in that video looks completely normal to me. My 99 would do the exact same thing. Typical sequence would be 1-4, then lock in 4th (right around that same speed) as soon as I left off the gas in 4th while locked, it would rev up a bit until the trans realized the speed was good and locked the TC again. Dont hurt to ask! But I would loose sleep over this! I've had some trouble adjusting to the 02 and it locking up 3rd & 4th. Still throws me off.

OBDLink LX and OBDLink Android App
In order to get trip info you need to have your device on and running the whole trip right? It doesn't get saved anywhere to be recalled later??

I think I made a mistake.. axle dump
So you're running a 5in tbe with a muffler and resonator? Do you have a video?

Motor mount incerts
That thing sounds terrible Tyler! Me thinks there's a birds nest under your hood!! Haha I kid I kid!

I think I made a mistake.. axle dump
This and another thread I've been following on CF really has me debating on putting a 4in tbe on this truck. It's such a double edged sword! It sounds amazing, but any time someone else is with you, bye bye conversations haha

Trans miss shift?
Makes sense. I've pretty much figured out that I drive my route to work exactly the same day in day out so today, on the way in I just gave it a little more skinny pedal and it finally locked up, just took a little more then normal since it was still a little cold from sitting over night. Glad to hear it's normal.

Cooler lines
Ahh gotcha, I figured as much but wasn't sure. Was there anything put out on the forum that these were even for sale?! I gotta admit that since the on here doesn't usually get that much traffic, I don't check it that often. Don't think I would've even seen them had it not been for the high idle switches for sale.

Cooler lines
So I saw this in the store... https://mopar1973man.com/store/product/46-47re-48re-cooler-line-replacement-kit/ Can someone learn me up on why I'd need this?!

Trans miss shift?
So figured I'd post this here since I think it still applies to the original thread topic. I've noticed for the last few days, on initial startup and drive to work with the truck still fairly cold from sitting over night, my trans seems to get hung up in 3rd. It'll just hold on to 3rd up to around 2k give or take a few hundred rpms either way. After changing around my throttle input it'll finally catch 4th and I'll be on my way. It really doesn't seem to be an issue any other time after that, but is this really being caused by just a cold tranny? Or is there some underlying issues?

The time has come to produce the Mopar1973Man High Idle & MPG fooler switches again.
This is awesome. I'll have to check the funds. I just dropped money on a new track bar and summer is around the corner so I might hold off until the next batch or so. But these looks great! It's great to see you guys continually improving and expanding on this platform!

Ball joints
Hey I know it's been a while but was curious about your thoughts on the raybestos now that you got some time on em? I'm thinking of getting some new joints as well and was curious about your thoughts.
