I have seen the aluminum wheels off of 4th gens on 2nd gens and they look great. I would also recommend the aluminum wheels of the chrome clads.

Have either of you replaced the water pump? I ran a bosch from pep boys for a few weeks and it fluctuated from 190-220 constantly and it alos had a little ring tacked to the impeller, which my stocker did not have. I got one from napa without the ring and it works great.

I agree, I would hate to see it go but its not right to let it rot.

I dont remember any problems and I think we left the turbo on the manifold.

I was in the shop for pretty much the whole thing and they do good work. Alot of tape and sanding.

I tend to do things extremely cheap (free) but I dont think you are out of line at $150 or so if he is supplying seals.

I had the air compressore set to 10-15psi and the leak was so bad I couldnt get a reading on my boost gauge in the cab but I never heard any from the waste gate. My tester was leaking a little so I really couldnt tell if the it was leaking though.

Me and a buddy pulled the exhaust manifold off his 04.5 and ended up braking a bolt off in the back. Its been a few years but I dont think it was fun.

$800, the other line-x guy around here wanted nearly $1200 without the back bumper so I was happy.

I made a trip to orlando and back to the diesel drags last weekend and with just the 100 miles or so of highway my truck got 17.2 mpg and the rest of the tank was around town like always. I think I could probably get 19 or better out on a tank across the country.

Im not sure on the brand, I picked it up from a small used car dealer. I have hit 42 psi on stock gasket and bolts but usually dont run the edge up that high and on 2x5 it will only hit 38psi. I dont do much pulling but have been over 30psi while doing it.

Yes, it was a chrome bumper and I actually popped the top plastic pieces off before I took it to them but they said it would look better if it was all done. I thought so too but didnt know if it would stick but they assured me it would be fine and Line-x is lifetime warranty nationwide. They actually went inside and out of both bumpers so it wouldnt peel up anywhere. I dont know if they actually scuffed up the chrome but I am tickled with how it came out. I had no plans to even do the back bumper but I saw a ford with the bumpers done recently and it looked good. I started to have the hooks sprayed but figured they would get torn up.

Its good practice to change them if they have never been changed since you have the system open anyway. Atleast pull the tubes and look at them real close for nicks. I have yet to pull the lines in over a dozen injector changes.

Not the whole truck but I just got back from getting the rockers, over the rail and both bumpers done.

Thats what I do, wait until the door is shut before it gets turned off.

My wife has always had a bad habit of opening the doors before I turn the truck off but I think I finally got onto her enough I think she finally learned.

Did they give you a price for pop test and ddp nozzles? Lee at contagious will send them to you and not charge you for a core if you send them back to him in a timely manor. He quoted my $350 plus cores for rv275 and I gave the same for my 7x.010 last year but he has went up a little in the last month.

If you are going to pull them out, why not just send them to a reputable company for coes and have new one sent to you. DDP have been around for a while and make a quality injector but they have a premium price tag as well. My injectors came at a good price and run great with very little smoke. I have never hit 1200 degrees one a wide open run even with a sled hooked up with the comp on 2x5 and a stock hx35. Here is what they looked like when I got them.

I didnt even need soapy water for mine. It was a huge leak and I wish I would have recorded how loud it was. Tested a buddies truck last night and it has a small leak in the same spot mine did, just under the intake horn. My gasket was kinda discolored a little where it was leaking and the whole thing was very brittle, it just fell apart when I pulled it out. I dont remember a whine with steady cruising but it would scream when I got on it. It was only making 30psi max but now is back up to 38. I vacuumed it all clean and the new one went in really easy, I didnt have to remove any injector lines or anything.

I found a major leak in the entake plenum gasket, its a wonder the truck would make 30psi. I did notice that it would scream when I stomped on it but now its just the turbo wistle.

Didnt really get a chance to test it yet, will get on the interstate tomorrow on my way to the diesel drags. It should because it was a massive leak. Seems that egt's are a little higher but that seems backwards to me.

Looks like 3 to choose from, DAP, bosch and another that are like $200. Not sure what he wants to do yet or when im going back to Tx, should have had a set waiting for him when he got here last week.:banghead:
