My old quad commander would turn almost black after it had been setting in the sun all day too so i usually kept it covered with something.

I have been considering it more and more lately but this temp thing is driving me up the wall. When I get it fixed there will be another problem so I dont know why im letting this one bother me so much. - - - Updated - - - If I were to put another temp gauge in the location of the oe sensor and not even have the oe sensor hooked up would the truck run right or without a temp reading would it think the engine is cold? Mike, what ohm resistor would it take to make it think its running about 190? Also, I just had problems with my tq convertor locking and unlocking in the rain but after I cleaned terminals and resset apps it was fine until I flushed the engine out. There must be something that is getting wet on the passenger side when it rains and I got it wet again tonight because on the last run it was acting a fool again. Anybody wanna swap a 1st gen 5 speed for a 98 24v auto?

I just drained and flushed mine with hose water and took it up the road with no change. I just wish it was more evedent waht was wrong so I could fix it.

Dont know if I mentioned it or not but this problem all started directly after I put on a vulcan big line kit. Are there any wires or something I could have hit during the install?

I enjoy smoking meat and really enjoy eating smoked meat. I dont have a smoker now but if I make a trip back to Tx with the truck, im bringing one back my grandpa made.

I was suggested a gates t-stat because they only have 1 jiggle pin so I ordered one from rockauto. Well it came today and looks just like the napa t-stats with 2 jiggle pins. I put it in and it acts the same way but then I remember my buddy with a d-max saying something about electrical something or another in the radiators of chevys hurting something. When I had my radiator cleaned and rodded I put it back on and just ran water for a day or two and it acted perfect but when I put antifreeze back in the same ole fluctuation starts again. I never had a problem when I ran the green stuff but have had since I started with this red fleet stuff. I wonder if there is any connection?

I would go with the vulcan kit since its less than half the price of glacier.

It didnt change anything, still shifting crazy. I cleaned the battery terminals for my monthly cleaning and will take a run in a few minutes.

The newest in my lock-up issue's are now it lock/unlocks rapidly when its raining or wet out. I went to TSC the other day, it was dry out and the trans shifted perfect but when I came back outside it was raining really hard. The roads were flooded and the truck was locking/unlocking rapidly, like twice a second. Now even after it quits raining its still doing it so im gonna pull the alternator fuse and take it for a drive. Will report back shortly. - - - Updated - - - No go, pulled fuse and still shifting.

Unless you have a built trans or stick shift I dont think you notice the power as much with new parts.

Ok Mike, what do you think of this? I went to tractor supply earlier and the trans shifted as it should but when I came out it was raining really hard and I was it town so I put it in 3rd and as soon as it shifter to lock-up, it went crazy, locking and unlocking 2 times a second untill I hit the lock-up switch. When I got on the highway and hit 4th lock-up it did the same thing. I went to the movies and when I came out it wasnt raining and the road wasnt as wet and the trans almost acted normal again except the occasional glitch. I have babied this truck like crazy but I get nothing in return so now in driving it like a teenager pissed off at the world!

IAT is intake air temperature. If my memory serves, Mike uses a 2.2 k ohm resistor in his iat sensor to trick the engine into thinking its 143 degrees outside for best mileage.

Are your hand calculated mpg's close the the scangauges mpg figures? I ask because my ultra-gauge took several fillups before it would get even close to the actual mpg's and it still never was right so i quit using it for them.

My grandpaw has one in his 6speed and likes it but it made the lid a little harder to shut.
