  1. Still a pretty fair trade all in all.
  2. I would agree. I hope you will forgive for not checking. Can't find picture of the finished basket but pretty sure I took them into the bottom portion of the basket.
  3. Mine had gotten slow and the engine hard to start. The faster it spins the easier it will start.
  4. That is the question. Both my returns go to the basket and I have never experienced it. My normal fill up is around 32 to 33 gallons so I pull mine down pretty low. Can't remember how low I put both of in the basket.
  5. It's 70* out my today. I am thinking mine does it this even cold. But hopefully I will have to wait until next winter to find out. Had my fill of winter. Some fo winter starts this year were tough with out plugging it in for 30 minutes or so due starter being old. Just would not spin the engine fast enough. How old is your starter?
  6. According to the link a class V rated at 20k would do it.
  7. I just went and turned mine on and the WTS light came on for 2 seconds and then back off. Just like it would do on a warm day like today. Mine is disconnected at the battery.
  8. The bumper is not carrying the weight, the receiver hitch mounted to the frame is. I don't know what the stock receiver is rated for, the stickers on mine are long gone. Might be engraved on it some where. There are different classes of receivers with different weight ratings, I don't know much about them however. https://www.etrailer.com/faq-hitchclasses.aspx Here is a little info on it.
  9. Sometimes it is just the simple stuff. @rogerash0 no need for a video, I'll take your word for it. Just never heard of fuel level making a difference in fuel pressure.
  10. Yes. How long, I never paid attention. I am just in and fire it off. Really cold, I plug it in for a little while.
  11. Curious as to what difference fuel level would make on fuel pressure?
  12. That would be the one.
  13. An old member here, @cajflynn, towed boats all over the country with his 2nd gen 2500. Some as big you describe. Weight I am not sure of, but he put 1.3 million miles on that truck until somebody hit him and totaled it. @Mopar1973Man has a picture or two somewhere. I pull 15k with mine, but in a 5th wheel set up.
  14. You checked your codes since the boat hauling?
  15. Thenstock stuff is pretty restrictive from pick up to VP. My AD came with a kit to replace my intank pump so I did drop the tank and rebuild the fuel basket. The weird thing was the pick up that came with it was only 3/8. I did not know many better at the time. That contributes to my 3 and sometimes 4 psi drop in pressure at WOT with comp turned up. I still above the 14 psi threshold however.
  16. Just bare in mind a big line kit by itself is not going to make much difference if you are still pulling fuel thru the stock lines.
  17. I replaced starter this winter for that very reason. It as getting slow and difficult to start. Even then I still see blue smoke on start up from the mid 30's on down.
  18. Mine ran fine the first time I swapped them even with 3 or 4 of them leaking. You would not have know there was a problem other than the leaks.
  19. I know it is mentioned above but I will say it again, snug or finger tighten the the fuel lines BEFORE tightening the injector hold downs. It is simple step but easily over looked.
  20. That was no fun. Think I would rather drive with half power than on 5 cylinders again.
  21. When mine was acting up you could tell it at any speed. 0 to 60 as 25 seconds or more. No mistaking it was doing it.
  22. When mine was acting up the scan gauge we read 14.6 and not move. The scan gauge reads weird for boost as it is but it always moved up when everything was working. When idling it reads near 28.
  23. Pretty sure mine is a wiring issue in the wiring harness. When I was having starter problems I grabbed the engine harness at the sensor grounds, gave a big squeeze and wiggled it around as much as possible and it stopped doing it. This is my electrically uneducated guess for the moment.
  24. I have been there too. It will not to drive it. Frustraring but not harmful that i know of.
