  1. You can see the frost bite in that air.
  2. I think if you had a cross over tube not seated at install you would have long since seen a issue from that. IIRC on that drive you took you thought the smoke was diminishing, If so just drive some more and see if it diminishes more. Could just be burning off what oil was in the exhaust pipe.
  3. How old are these batteries? If they were fine just a week ago but died overnight something else maybe going on.
  4. When my ecm went WOT at startup was one of the many symptoms I had. Did not do it every time. Sometimes it would go WOT on its own or when I touched the throttle. Pretty much had a mind of its own. Also had a pile of codes. The AC noise Mike speaks of can be present even in a new rebuild. The only know is to test it. These truck really need clean DC power. AC noise is very harsh on the electronics. Here is one good article on the subject. @Mopar1972Man has one also in the articles section. The ground mod is explained there also.
  5. There is a lot of truth in what you say. I do believe we need to take care of our own. But lining up for government handouts is counter productive as I believe you know. I am afraid thats the ones that will help him. Give a man a fish and feed him for the day. Teach him how to fish and he can feed himself for life. I could stand for this type of free education. The community college system was created for just such a thing over one hundred years ago to help minorities and the less fortunate to continue there education at higher level and better themselves. I like to think that most folks would rather to that step and not just look for a hand out. Just to maintain perspective, I dont believe this to be the solution for the pandemic but more a solution for moving on after.
  6. Unfortunately its a disease that infects most of DC. Biden is not the answer either. The leader we need has yet to show his face.
  7. I use some half inch foam. bought a short piece 2' by 6' when I reroofed the house a 3 years back. Bought another from HF they sell as a shop floor walk pad. pretty cheap and still going strong. Works great on the gravel driveway. Water does not bother them.
  8. They are required out my way but no one is enforcing it except in liquor stores. They usually have a cop inside and they wont sell to you with out one. Still quite a few folks not wearing them and no one wants to be confrontational. Some folks get way out of hand along those lines and do not react well. I know I forget it every once in a while and no one stops you but I do put it on when I remember. It is really a pretty easy thing to do and better than doing nothing.
  9. Loosen one of the injector lines at the head and see if you any fuel to the engine while cranking. You may just have a small fuel leak somewhere and loosing prime in the system. the WTS light is concerning but try and eliminate simple things first.
  10. Happy New Years to all.
  11. same thing with Love's. But I guarantee those trucking companies are not paying the high price
  12. There is Murph's oil outside of a Wal Mart on the way work. Had to stop at Lowe's near there about 2.5 months ago and they diesel for $1.71 while it was still $2.25 at home and $2.15 neat the job. Don't know why it was so much cheaper there. But over the past 2.5 months they slowly went back up to the average price everywhere else. It was fun while it lasted though.
  13. I dont see #1 out my way. Why it would cheaper than #2 I dont know. Out my way it is all #2 and #2 blended with Bio. I dont see as much of the blend as I used to. Love's carried it for a good while but it has been very hard to find a pump labeled for the bio blend. Plus Love's is now about 10% higher than most places. Around $2.50 at Love's and about $2.25 a gallon most every where else. They used be in line with everyone else.
  14. I have no doubt that Quad is better tuner with the adjustability it offers. I was able to make 19.5 mpg on a highway with the comp on level 5 mostly cruising around 70 to 75 but those left lane riders kept getting in the way. For the most part on non winterized fuel as best I can tell. Nothing is marked on the pumps out my way. with temps not dropping down to 20 very often here I doubt they need to. I was able to make a pure highway run yesterday and wracked up 430 miles just shy of the 1/2 tank mark on the gauge. Bare in mind thats about 2/3 of a tank full gone, but all the ear marks of a 19.5 mpg run for me. first long run I have made in a while. Still running 600 or so miles a week just on secondary roads. Between that and idling to stay warm or cool my mileage is in the mid teens,14 to 15, on a good week. But riding around a 7500 pounds I am not complaining.
  15. A short garage is a cold garage. Kind of like my gravel dirve way. But I do have a summer garage, still gravel but dry.
  16. That would more fun, especially if you dont have somewhere warm to fix the heater. Beer is cheaper at home, wait a minute. anint beer free at the casino??
  17. Dont know why but I am leaning toward heater core.
  18. I rin the Comp but never saw a huge bump in mpg. 1 mpg more tops. I tow in level 3, 11 to 11.5 mpg, and empty in level 5 at 19 to 19.5 empty. I towed a 35' 5th wheel at 15k pounds and near 13' tall. I never believed all 3 to 4 mpg gallon possivle increases that every one seems to advertise for z, y, or z modifacation. This not to say you cant get yours up near 20 with Quad. Sure would seem possible with it. Just have find the right tune. That is above my paygrade.
  19. Welcome to the site. As far as the controller goes, it is way out of my league.
  20. I have some fronts for mine but with the temp swings we see down my way I got tired of putting them in then taking a couple out every other or so. For the moment I have half of the radiator blocked with card board. I need one of those fancy snap on kind with zipper that you can open and cose.
  21. A lot of this stuff just boils down to personal preference. No so much a right or wrong way.
  22. This is disturbing and happening in few other places. It has ramped out my way also but not near as bad as out west. Some smaller hospitals are struggling.
  23. I did not have to grease anything on my truck for the first 240k. I like it that way better.
  24. Chicken man productions assumes no responsibility for the authenticity of the video. But we do not disagree with your hypothesis.
