  1. How is the gasket on the t stat?
  2. Radiator cap getting weak and spraying? Is the over flow line still connected?
  3. FWiW both my return lines go to the fuel basket with the pick up and I have never seen a pressure rise on acceleration.
  4. Last time I checked mine I dont remeber any voltage drop. Have not checked that in a while though.
  5. While buying an ECM sucks, if thats what it takes to fix it, not much else you can do. Happy to hear it is back on the road.
  6. Good to see you found the problem, no matter what it was. I will take my electrically challenged hine end to the wood shed.
  7. Timbo apps will not throw a code. I dont know how many times I have had the batteries disconnected and forgot to reset mine. It has never set a code. Maybe the oe would but the timbo will not. The cheap apps I bought always throws a 222 code. Clear it and it comes back instantaneously You might try a little heat on the screw to loosen the lock tite on it.
  8. Just to add if mine ever broke I might consider something different. Most likely not since the oe has not cracked yet at 399k. From what I know the oe is good for any power I will ever see.
  9. I have a $16 APPS in my glove box. Every time I have had it on my truck it generates a 222 code. If your cheap one is on there that could be the source of the 222. The others are a little beyond me. Go to the articles section and the codes are listed there.
  10. The fluctuation sounds just like the grid heaters cycling. Do you have them disconnected at the battery? Can you check the voltage going to the pump when rev it to see if the voltage is spiking? That is spit balling from the electrically challenged.
  11. The best advice above is to go and look at both and see what fits your needs. Both stiles have advantages. I personally like a 5th wheel. It shortens everything up and has good storage. They can get quite large height wise as mine is near 13' tall. its advantage there is that all 6'4" of me can stand even in the bedroom which I could not do on my first one. If I do downsize I am going to look at a bumper pull but not convinced i would buy one. But this is just my preferences. Yours will differ. The other good advice is to not get sold on a bunch of glamour and glitz. It can get very expensive. If you dont see what you want at first keep looking. They are just like car salesmen and dont want you to leave. Keep looking and maybe they will sweeten the deal on one.
  12. I would have never imagined that either until I started staying alone. Just kind of tired of hauling that big sob around. My first one was only 28' long and a foot or so shorter. It was plenty of room. Not as much storage in that one but it sure kept the weight of it. But, to each his own. what makes me happy might not make someone else happy.
  13. At least you found the problem.
  14. Good advice above. I have a 35' 5th wheel and pretty much live in it. Every thing I need is in there including a washer and dryer. If you live in it as I do you will never regret it. Not good for dry camping but fine at the rv park or any other form of wet camping. If I had it to do over again I would down size some. It was fine when the wife traveled with me but now that she does not it's just bigger than I like. A 28 30 foot would be plenty big enough for me. Mine is a Cardinal and it has held up pretty well. No major issues though it is getting some years on it now. Just watch out how long you get the payments for. You can finance them new for 15 years and get a really easy payment to make but it takes forever to pay it off.
  15. Mine started out at $500. Then they refused my core, + $200 more. Then the first one did not work, + 5 or 6 weeks of a rental car. Then the second died and left me on the road. $100 tow bill + $1400 for a Cummins rebuild and programming + $100 for a core since mine was no good. That's $2900 plus the rental car which I have long since forgotten what I spent. Thats my story. Went thru all of that because I did not want to pay the dealer $2500 for one. This was almost 8 years ago. I cant tell you who or how to pick a rebuilder but be very careful. Find out all you can about one and hopefully others have had good experiences with whom ever. @Countyguy might be on to someone just have to wait and see. He is having some similar problems to what I had.
  16. This is what turned me against internet rebuilders. My experience was bad. Took me a while to pull the trigger on the ECM being the problem. Then when I did I got a piece of crap for a replacement not to mention they told me my core was no good and I lost that money. When the first one did not work I had to wait 6 weeks to get one that did. In the mean time I am renting a car. It just sucked and I hope yours turns out much better than my experience. On top of waiting for the second one, it only lasted about 13 months and I was back to square one.
  17. Well the world just got a little smaller. Maybe we can get together one day when I am home for more that just weekend.
  18. The 1/4 tank issue I was referring to would normally be caused by a after market fuel system or at least a pick tube like a draw straw that was installed improperly. When you fill it up you will know better. Maybe you have one and dont know it.
  19. How much fuel did you end up putting in it when you fueled up? Just curious if you were really out of fuel or have a fuel pick up problem.
  20. Looking good Mr trucker. I am jealous.
  21. That is probably the issue I had with my second one. Are they going to send you another one that matches your truck?
  22. Did Daniel Espey own that hardware store. Went to school with my younger brother, but we all ran around with each other back in my long haired hippie days,
  23. All of ours came in droplets. 5" in 2 days. Fair amount of flooding out here in the Raleigh/Durham NC area.
  24. Hildebran makes as close to neighbors as the internet will allow. Used to work at Crawford Sprinkler Co. Out on old 64/70. Still there I beleive, but that could be Longview.
